  1. Haven't talked to you in forever it seems! I just wanted to congratulate you on your extraordinary weight loss! Congrats girl!

  2. Thanks for all the lovely messages. I sort of fell off the planet for a while: I was depressed about not losing weight, and I got engaged and have been in the process of planning a wedding. Anyway, I'm back.

  3. Thanks! It's nice to know someone is reading my blog ;) No worries, I think blogger likes to cause trouble. It's not always user-friendly. (At least for me, anyway).

  4. Hey, I know it's getting closer to your surgery. Just letting you know that Harper is an excellent hospital and you're in good hands!

  5. Wow! Eight pounds in two days! Congrats. I haven't started a walking routine, but I am pretty mobile. Today I tried doing my wii fit, but I was only able to do about five minutes before I started to feel really tired. Healing really takes a lot out of you! But I shall use you as inspiration and take a walk today! Keep me updated lady, you sound like you're doing great.

  6. Hey I tried to comment on your blog but I guess my browser wouldn't let me or something. Anyway, your hospital stay sounded just like mine! Hilarious about the morphine... ha ha Glad to hear you surgery went so smoothly.

  7. I'm good thanks for asking. I think I'm actually starting to get hungry. That is good because at first I could hardly manage to drink anything, but it's also bad because it could mean I'll gain weight before I get my first fill. I am so excited for you and I'm glad the pre-op diet is going well for you. I had to eat a lot of popsicles and jello to get through it.

  8. I am doing pretty good. The first day pre-op was absolutely miserable for me. It wasn't just because I was in pain, but also because I was just REALLY uncomfortable. I also had a six hour car-ride so that was fun... Sorry to hear about your gas pains. I have been lucky enough to not have much problems with gas, but I did have a fever scare the other night! Everything is ok, though. I'm glad to hear from you and that your surgery went so well.

  9. Haven't seen you on the boards. How's it going?

  10. How did your surgery go? My first day post-op was rough, but I am doing remarkably well today. Let me know how you're doing!

  11. Woot! Eight more pounds and you are in the 300's! And only five more days until your surgery, are you getting excited?

  12. Ooh I can't wait to hear the results of your next weigh in! I have never been able to lose 74 pounds my entire life!

  13. I just wanted to say that you are such a sweet woman and I'm so happy that your surgery went so well!

  14. So far I am doing good on the pre-op diet. I am not nearly as hungry as I was on the first two days, but I still wish I could eat until satisfied. Do you think your pre-op appointment answered all the questions you needed answering? What it a good experience overall? Sorry the diet isn't getting easier, have you at least lost some weight on the diet?

  15. Great! I saw that you updated your blog. How is recovery going? Are you starving yet?

  16. Congrats nancy! I'm so happy that things went well for you. Get your rest and let us all know how you're doing when you feel up to it!

  17. Yup, Great Lakes is right. Thanks for the words of encouragement, I've heard good things about him as well.

  18. Well congrats on getting banded! How did the surgery go? How is the recovery going? I don't have to do a full liquid pre-op diet either, thank God! Well I think you need to update that blog of yours!

  19. So I just e-stalked you to find out when you're getting banded. This Friday? That's soon! Are you excited? Nervous? Do you have to do a pre-op diet? Stay in touch and let me know how it goes.

  20. Do you have a restriction on carbs too or just calories? If not, then I'd be eating sugar-free popsicles until the cows came home! Walmart sells ones that are 35 cal each and 8 grams of carbs. My doc allows a few carbs on this diet, so I am sneaking 'em in. Did you take up the advice on getting gum? That might really help you at work. Last night I made jell-o and froze some crystal light so I could feel like I was "eating" something today.

  21. One more time, good luck! I can't wait to hear from you and hear how you're doing. You're right about the popsicles, last night I felt like I was starving but I felt better after I had a popsicle.

  22. I'm glad you're dealing with the diet. Yesterday was my first day and I can say it's definitely not easy. Good luck at your appointment, let me know how it goes!

  23. I started to struggle towards the end of the night yesterday, but I made it! For dinner I had a piece of broiled cod with a very plain salad... not that exciting, but it did the trick.

  24. Oh you must tell me how your stay goes! My surgeon is Dr. John Webber.

  25. So it's almost dinner time. How have you held up today?
