  1. these episodes seem to come and go and for me are triggered by many different foods..It also depends upon how fast I eat and how throughly I chew.

I have been banded for 4 years and lost 70 pounds.. In the last year I am up 20 pounds..but it is my fault..I also work 24 hour call and often eat to keep awake and alert..Any ideas for Protein Bars I can take to work to increase my energy at 4 am...and not eat hospital issued Peanut Butter crackers. I also get headaches at times from all the chewing...I need to get back on track...thanks.

  2. I cannot believe it will be 3 years this May. I have lost 70 pounds and am pretty much happy with my weight. The last 10 pounds have been slow..Now just to tone up..My most recent problem has been a severe headache when I eat..I think this is what has helped me lose the last 10 pounds. Anyone else have this problem...Also what do people think of having the band out when you have been at goal for a year or so. I certainly have changed my eating habits

  3. I too never suffered from headaches. Last April they started. I was banded in May 2009. I have seen neuro. and have had a neg MRI. I also have seen a chroiprac., nothing has helped. The headaches are with or after eating. Also have seen a dental specialist as well as TMJ...Just now I have begun to believe it could be related to lap band. I have lost 70 pounds very slowly and am happy with results..but these h/a are awful. I have a diagnosis of trigeminal neuralgia by exclusion but I do not believe I have this...Any input is so welcome.

  4. I am now 2 weeks out and have enjoyed 2oz of turkey meat loaf and 2 tab. potatoes, your right it is great I was so sick of chobani yogurt (16 gms protein) but does have some sugars...I only had to do liqs the day before and then for 12 days afterwards...Have not had a fill yet. Glad to join the May bandsters....I only had pain med in the recovery room and then used childrens tylenol, but everyone's pain level is very different. Take care all.

  5. Hi, I had my surgery May 7th and so far all is well, no fill yet, only problem is lack of BM's. I am now on soft food so I hope that will help. I thought about this for 2 years before making the decision and read everything available.

    Highest Wt: 227 Ht. 5'2"

    wt. at banding 204

    wt. now 194

    goal wt: 145:tt2:

My health plan required 7nutrition classes, 4 behavioral med classes, a full psysical and blood for for vits etc. I also am now on B12 injections.

  6. I was just banded on 5/7/09 and i almost canceled the surgery. My BMI is 34 after loosing 25 pounds before the surgery as my health plan and physician required. Then I remembered that I had done this befor (lost and gained) and so I went ahead with the surgery. I do feel full and have not had a fill yet. i just started solid foods and they do taste good. My only problem had been my bowels...Yuck, who want to speak about that but, in 2 weeks, I have only been able to go with the aid of Milk of Magn. and then only liquid. My bowel sounds are like a major rock concert. Any suggestions

  7. I myself am newly banded 5/7/09 and have not had a fill yet: I am not pregnant but a grandmother. I have had at least 3 patients who were banded and did great in pregnancy. Some gained more than they should have, but so do alot of nonbanded pts. All did great medically. Most had some Fluid released from their bands..I hope this is encouraging to all of you.
