  1. I had my surgery March 12. Had to stay an extra night at the hospital but the most difficult time I've had was the week after. I was home (I live 5 hours away from the doctor) and alone as my husband had to go back to work. In retrospect, it was probably good I was alone as I had to get up to take out the dogs, feed them. and so on. where I might have stayed in bed! I did get depressed exactly one week after the surgery and wondered if I'd made a mistake but I hear many people have that reaction. I went to the grocery store for the first time today and did fine. So, just follow doctor's orders, drink Water, popsicles are great, and don't worry about anything for the first two weeks. Good luck!

  2. I am new. This is my first post. I had lapband four years ago and I had problems. Little or no weight loss but not due to not following doctor's orders. I had chronic reflux even on two bites of soft food. So, about 3 weeks ago, I had the band removed and gastric bypass. My stitches are healed and I'm trying to get my energy back. I'm just starting pureed foods. I've been through this process before and it is actually easier this time around.

But, I've heard about dumping and I'm really not wanting to experience this...ever! The internet sites (WebMD and MayoClinic) both describe something really horrible to experience with no suggestions for what you can do! Now, I'm afraid for what I may eat by accident as I surely will stay away from sugar! Any advice is appeciated! :)
