Hi,
I just moved to Austin, Tx from California. I am looking for a Fill doctor in the general area. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.
If you know contact info and costs that would be super as well.

Great, I guess I will take some time off and go get a fill.
-
It seems every 10 lbs or so my weightloss comes to a stand still and I need a fill to get it going again?
Is this normal?
-
I had no pain at all. My did experience some minor discomfort at the surgical sites when I switch positions while sleeping. As well as very minor gas. I think I really got off easy. I started walking 1 mile a day today.

Ok I am freaking starving now!
I couldn't resist and ate some mash potatoes with lots of gravy (thats pretty liquidy!), about 1/2 cups worth and I feel full.
Did I screw up?
Was it to early?
Last thing I want to do it screw up my band or something.
Advise please

How long does Aetna take to get back to us??

See what happens when you mind wonders and thinks of questions; then decide to ask/post it.
Dare not ask another .........
-
Ok I think some if not all has gotten the wrong idea from this post. I simply asked has anyone done it or know anyone that has. I never said I was going to, so RELAX. Don’t read more into a post than what is there.

Has anyone ever Faked Comorbid conditions to help speed along the Lap Band approval process?

I work in a pretty small area, I would say 50 sq ft. And we have a TV we can watch when the job gets boring (the reason I am fat, ok maybe not the only reason).
So about 4 guys were sitting in chairs (chairs with wheels) watching TV, one was my best friend. I came in to work and grabbed a chair. I sat in it and rolled over to the TV area.
A tape (Computer system backup) mount popped on the computer and I grabbed two tapes and begain to roll over to the tape drives (maybe 3 feet away).
Just then my so called "best friend" said: "beeep, beeep, beeep ...". Like you hear when a garbage truck is backing up or something. Everyone looked and laughed. He said he didn't mean it in that way but it hurt so bad.
Wow I almost cried just reliving that to type it out.

Wow this southern California Radio Station is giving away a free Lap Band procedure including 12 month of after care!!!!!
I just entered the contest and hope I win.
I am not sure if I can post the name of the Radio Station and a link so until a mod says its cool you will have to PM me for it.

I did speak to someone at the surgeons office and they have a program that will qualify. Unfortunately the only surgeon under my insurance plan is in LA with is 180 miles away. There is no way I can travel that far 3-4 times a week.

- Presence of severe obesity that has persisted for at least the last 2 years (24 months), defined as any of the following:
- Body mass index (BMI)* exceeding 40; or
- BMI* greater than 35 in conjunction with any of the following severe co-morbidities:
- Coronary heart disease; or
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus; or
- Clinically significant obstructive sleep apnea (i.e., patient meets the criteria for treatment of obstructive sleep apnea set forth in Aetna CPB 004 - Obstructive Sleep Apnea in Adults); or
- Medically refractory hypertension (blood pressure greater than 140 mmHg systolic and/or 90 mmHg diastolic despite optimal medical management);
[*]and
[*]Member has completed growth (18 years of age or documentation of completion of bone growth); and
[*]Member has attempted weight loss in the past without successful long-term weight reduction; and
[*]Member must meet either criterion 1 (physician-supervised nutrition and exercise program) or criterion 2 (multidisciplinary surgical preparatory regimen):
- Physician-supervised nutrition and exercise program: Member has participated in physician-supervised nutrition and exercise program (including dietician consultation, low calorie diet, increased physical activity, and behavioral modification), documented in the medical record at each visit. This physician-supervised nutrition and exercise program must meet all of the following criteria:
- Nutrition and exercise program must be supervised and monitored by a physician working in cooperation with dieticians and/or nutritionists, with a substantial face-to-face component (must not be entirely remote); and
- Nutrition and exercise program(s) must be for a cumulative total of 6 months or longer in duration and occur within 2 years prior to surgery, with participation in one program of at least three consecutive months. (Precertification may be made prior to completion of nutrition and exercise program as long as a cumulative of six months participation in nutrition and exercise program(s) will be completed prior to the date of surgery.); and
- Member's participation in a physician-supervised nutrition and exercise program must be documented in the medical record by an attending physician who supervised the member's participation. The nutrition and exercise program may be administered as part of the surgical preparative regimen, and participation in the nutrition and exercise program may be supervised by the surgeon who will perform the surgery or by some other physician. Note: A physician's summary letter is not sufficient documentation. Documentation should include medical records of physician's contemporaneous assessment of patient's progress throughout the course of the nutrition and exercise program. For members who participate in a physician-administered nutrition and exercise program (e.g., MediFast, OptiFast), program records documenting the member's participation and progress may substitute for physician medical records;
Above is Aetna's Criteria for Lap Band Surgery.
Can anyone tell me the easiest/fastest way to meet the physician-supervised nutrition and exercise program or multidisciplinary surgical preparatory regimen?
I want to bust out this requirement fast and get on to my surgery but of course I want to do it right so they will not turn me down.
Some advise please.

I want to use Dr. Kirshenbaum. Natalie said I need to bring another person with me because "The surgery center will not discharge you to a cab driver because you are under the influence of narcotics (general anesthesia)." But I really have anyone that can come with me. :w00t:Any ideas??
Dave
Natalie emailed me about a service in the area that will take care of this for $166.00 sounds like a life saver to me! I am really excited now! I can't wait!!!
