  1. Mine was 42DDD @ 293lbs and 5'7". I'm down to 36D @169lbs now and I'm not even done loosing weight yet. Mine are hanging with no shape :-( I see a breast lift in the future :-)
  2. I've got 10cc band and currently am at my sweet spot and happy @9.75cc... while at 9.5cc.. I had no restriction at all, could eat almost everything (not that I did :-) and as much as my "head hunger" might've made me to :-). So plug away... you should be fine.

    Scared & Confused - Vomiting & Pressure!!

I just went thru the same thing. My last fill was in Jan of this year and I was at my sweet spot. All was fine and dandy up untill a month ago where out of nowhere I found myself in the exactly same place you are. I waited out a month thinking it would go back but to no avail. Had an appt with fluoro this afternoon and got slight unfill. .25cc made heck of a difference. I am normal again. My chest pain was gas bubbles from liquids and food that I was trying to eat/drink, band was still in place but bacame too tight and nothing (not even a second sip of water) would go thru. Find a doc and go for the slight unfill. Good luck.

    What is going on?

OP, I had exactly the same thing hapenning to me... .25cc unfill made heck of a difference... I'm good now. Just ask your doc to remove .25 not the whole .5 otherwise you'll go back to where you were before your fill. Good luck.
  5. 65 lbs. It was one of the most sterssful years of my life (nothing related to my band... my older son is in US Army)... and being an emotional eater whithout my band I would've gained another 30 Soooo... can I say that I lost 95..lol ???? Just kidding... 65lbs, 4.5 dress sizes and counting...

    Excess Skin fears!

I once came across this article, it made 300% sense to me, I strongly believe in his theory and I'm planning to see if what he says would work. Time will tell.... but for now it's about proper eating and working out. By the way... in no way, shape or form I'm connected to that website. For me it's about this particular article/information. My "bible": The Myth of Loose Skin

    Took nine months-is this normal???

OP, are we separated at birth??? I can sign my name under each of your posts in this thread. With the exception that I've got my restriction at 9.5cc in 10cc band. If you search my posts you'll see how much frustration it used to cost me.

    Lap Band Leak?

Waiting to see what kind of feedback you'll get becase I might be having the same problem. I have my band for less than a year and I seem to be fine for 3-4 weeks after the fill and then lose my restriction. Last time I had a fill my doc mesured what I had in before giving me a fill and I had 2.5cc less than I left his office with 2 month before. I have flioro apprt in 3 weeks. Will see.... as of right now I still have the restriction from the 3-weeks ago fill.
  9. Just a quick suggestion. If all you can eat for now is puree food then try to make "baby food"-type chicken puree. All you need is boiled chicken, broth and blender. Eat warm. It is perfect source of lean natural protein for me while on soft stage..
  10. **thread hijack** Are we separated at birth? Almost same banding dates, same stats and same morning/nights restriction problems. can't wait to see responds to your thread. **hijack is over*

Banded in 2003...time for it to GO

I don't mean to derail your thread... but can you please go into more details why it didn't work for you. Are you maxed out on fills and still hungry? Is it reflux and/or other discomfort? Is it some kind of band related problem? Something else? You can PM me if that would be better.... if you don't mind my question. Thanks

Keeping things private while on post-op liquids....

Here is the list of my personal once-in-awhile and long term excuses: - have a blood test tomorrow morning (Water only); - have a dental problem (liquids/mushes only, can't chew) - yesterday's tai/chinese/whatever food didn't agree with me, trying to stay light for a day or two (liquids/broth/soup/vegi-puree) - I am on yet another fad diet/fasting. 123456th in my life...lol You name it, i've done it, everyone knew it already and no one was surprised by me "going on another one" this time. Good luck.

    Not losing any weight....

IndioGirl55, first of... great job on your weight!!! You, as well as many others are my Heros!!! You are absolutely right! But my problem have always been portion control. I'm 46yo. Have ALWAYS had a very active lifestyle and been working out 5 times/week on avarage (and I mean "working out", to the sweat not just moving around). I am completely healthy, very physically fit and have outdone my "normal weight" friends in many physical activities for decades. Being Eastern European transplant at the age of 27, I was raised eating right, never developped fast food and junk food lifestyle. Occasionally yes, but not in a life-altering way. I eat mostly right, raised both of my boys that way and got a LAP-BAND®® as a tool to help me with portions control. Eating 3 times more than I should 5 times a day and still feeling hungry is my MAJOR problem. Last fill helped me in somewhat cutting portions. Currently I am working hard on learning to decipher between real hunger and head hunger. Meantime I'm ready for another fill so it could help me cut portions even more. It is my personal choice to not making another "diet" out of this jurney. I eat 1500-1700 cals (while working out almost daily burning ~700-800 cals) and lose slow while adjusting physically and emotionally. But I do need my band to cooperate and help me with not eating a lot. WOW! long post, painful subject :-(

    Not losing any weight....

Right where you are...you can read my story if you search my posts. Finally have a hint of a restriction with 10.5cc, ready for the next fill... Meantime .... hang on in there. We have no other way to go besides going down :-)

    Super bummed....

I'm right where you are... and trying to make peace with myself about loosing slow. I've lost 40lbs in 2 month 3 times in my life (before band-time) just to feel burned by intense dieting and to gain it all back and then some in no time. This time I'm trying to do it differently. I don't obsess with loosing fast. I've always eat right, I've always exercised... therefore my accent is on eating right portions. And that's how I gauge my success... I was banded in July and so far 5 month is the longest I've ever been in my life on the weight-down-spiral... and that's what makes me happy. Just remember... if you eat right (most of the time) if your "calories IN" are less than your "calories OUT" (most of the time) you'll lose eventually and you'll keep it off for life. Because of my life-long weight yo-yoing... I make a marathon out of this journey, not a 100m-race.
  16. here is my story so far: Just keep in mind that I'm as healthy/active as person of my weight can be and I had a better-than-textbook after-surgery recovery. -Sept: first fill 5cc - no restriction 5lbs loss due to will power -Oct: second fill 4cc - no restriction (9cc total in 10cc band) 4 lbs loss due to will power -major freaking out on my side - band is almost full and no restriction -Nov 19: third fill 2.5cc under fluoro (11.5 total in 10cc band) - definitely overfill. Was ok while in doc office but couldn't keep food nor Water down starting next morning for 3 days. -Nov 23: unfill 1.00 cc (10.5cc total in 10cc band) - BUNGO, decent not-perfect-but-good-for-now restriction. -I plan to go back for small fill (like .25-.5 or so in Jan)
  17. I was banded 7/14/09, with 18lbs down and 120lbs to go, got a decent (not sweet spot though) restriction only with my last fill. Currently have 10.5cc in my 10cc band. That's the question for my next doc visit. Was gonna ask it last time but forgot.

    realize banded!!

Here is my story in nutshell: -Banded 7/14/09 -not a junk eater/drinker but definitely have had portion control issues my whole life (I'm 46yo) - have always been working out and living active, never stopped regardless of my weight -first fill 5cc - no restriction 5lbs loss due to will power - second fill 4cc - no restriction (9cc total in 10cc band) 4 lbs loss due to will power -major freaking out on my side - band is almost full and no restriction -third fill 2.5cc (11.5 total in 10cc band) - definitely overfill - couldn't keep food nor water down -unfill 1.00 cc (10.5cc total in 10cc band) - BUNGO - I've got restriction!!!!! -Now I have to work on one major issue that I had no idea I always have had - once and for all I have to learn how to decipher between real hunger and head hunger - major big deal for me!!! I think finally I nailed it though (had to experiment for while and honesly listen to my body, not for my brain)... I now know how the "REAL HUNGER" feels and know the difference between "body is asking for food/water (hungry)" and "mind is asking for food input (want food)" -down another 6lbs (thank you my dear lapband!!!!) -now I know that it's working, I just have to help it a little or, at least, not stand on my lapband's way...lol. -what do I do when my band is full and there is no other fill possible???? I guess I have to talk to my doc then... another surgery to replace/tighten my band???? I'll get there when I get there. Now taking it one step at the time and working the band. That's my story. My point is.... it took me 10.5cc to get restriction... go figure....
  19. I did and I still do :-) Had LB on July 14... ask away, I'll help all I can

    any one banded 7/15/09

I was banded July 14 with no fill. I am doing good with the exception that I am back to being hungry again :-) it's a good thing right..? Means that there is no swelling anymore and i am healed... should be happy, right..lol? Anyways... I am sooo looking forward to my first fill on Aug 26 hoping for at least slight restriction... but I don't hold my breath on it since it take more than one for the majority of people. Otherwise I am feeling good, back to cardio (elliptical), will re-start pilatis next week and planning to go to regular workout routine in about 2-3 weeks. I haven't lost anything since after-surg liquid diet (gained nothing as weel) and trying to convince myself to be patient. I am 46yo, starting weight 295.
  23. Hello Everyone.... forever lurker (F, 45yo, BMI 44) is coming out to post :glare:. I've been waiting for my lap-band to be done since Sep... 6 month of office visits done, so is my dietition and psy visits. So my paperwork is sitting in my doc office since Feb waiting to be sent...and being postponed again and again. From what I know they have some issues with BCBS IL (not my personal policy but in general). Meantime I know few people who did this recently with the same insurance and all went fine. To make my question short... I am loosing my patience and on my way to finding another doctor... I am open to you recomendations and stories of your experiences (good or bad). Appreciate all suggestions .... I am getting desperate...lol... in my mind it was supposed to be done 2 month ago...lol... I want it NOW but with a good doctor. HELP!!!!
