  2. man i feel bad i've been so late responding to this haha. yeah the gym def helps a lot. i stopped going a month or so ago because i got my prom dress fitted... and then fitted again and it was still too big and the lady told me that there was no way i could work out and still wear that dress lol! so far to date i've lost 39. how much have you lost?

  3. I have already hit my 2-3 lb a week point, granted I'm only restricted to 3 ccs, but I really want to get down before prom, which is May 2nd. Does anyone have a work out routine that works really well? As of right now i go to the gym about 5 days a week, and I do a variety of things with the weight machines, and then I get on the treadmill for half an hour. help help help

  8. girl, talk to me. whats going on?
  9. lol sweatpants are def my best friend right now. plus, i don't see the point in buying new jeans that won't fit me in a month or so.

& my surgeon allows us to workout a month after surgery. of course you can walk any time you want, but lifting weights has gotta wait until that month. your surgeon might have a different requirement, so i would call the lapband center at your hospital and ask them.

  10. alright so i got my surgery on the 5th of this month. i've lost around 20-22 pounds since then. and now its just not going anywhere. i will admit that i don't walk as much as i did the first week, because i go to school for a full day and when i get home i just feel like crashing what should i do? is this normal? i go back on the 1st of feb to get my followup appt and possible first fill, eeeek
  11. oh yeah. today is the first day i feel like crap from school. i decided to wear jeans today and BAAAAD idea. i need to start getting active. i'm not even loosing anything at the moment.

  12. i'm sticking with cottage cheese atm when i go to softies i'll be doing fish and chicken woot woot
  13. aw, sweet! i've been waiting for someone who was banded on the same day as me. i'm doing pretty good, how are you?

  14. I will be 2 weeks post-op this tuesday, and my steri strips started falling off two days ago. One of them looked fine, just a little red, but the other one wasnt fully closed, and it looked like it had a little collection of yellow drainage in it. It wasnt seeping, it was just sitting there. And then today another one of my steristrips came off and there was the same problem. The top part of the wound was closed but the bottom part was still open. it wasnt as if you could see into my abdomen but it was just a little crater. Is it due to my weight? [the girth of my stomach is towards the bottom, so everything drags down] We put an ointment on it and put medical tape over it. did this happen to anyone else?
  15. thanks everyone for replying i had my dad who is a firefighter/paramedic look at them and he put some butterflies on one of them but he said the others look fine.
  16. I didn't have any staples. all they used were steristrips to close the wounds. i'll have my mom call the center soon or tomorrow. it doesnt hurt or anything its just bothersome
  17. yeah i know its hard, i remember not wanting to put anything in my mouth because i was afraid that it would come right back out. but about 20 mins after the milk went in, i immediately felt better. another thing that made me feel better was to go off of my pain reliever and to switch to liquid tylenol. i hope you feel better soon!
  18. nausea is due to exactly what you just said. lack of any real food. it is also a result of your band being empty and lack of protein. eat as much yogurt and drink as much milk as you can tolerate. it really helps with the nausea.
  19. i too had a lot of back pain the first week or so. it did go away. have you been sleeping in your bed or in a recliner? it helped me a lot with the pain to sleep in a recliner. also i walked walked walked and then some. the back pain is most likely where your gas pain is mimicked. thats the way it is with me. i would suggest walking as much as you can. i walked 20 mins the first day i was home, 15 the next, then 20 again and it got rid of my back pain. also, just plain childrens acetaminophen may help with your back pain. hope you feel better!
  20. yeah, it will liquify it. i can't say i've ever heard of that type of Protein shake so i can't help you on the taste there. you should be good if you add that. how much longer are you on liquids? & i was banded on the 5th of this month.
