    Wedding?

I understand where you're coming from, 3 weeks after I had my surgery, my mom's and the orginazations she's involved in had a Mothers' Day dinner, I tried my best to talk my way out of it, but she wasn't having it, she knew I had, had the surgery but she wasn't giving in.. She through the you're not going to support me tactic in.. I was like OMG... Needless to say I end up going and I had a nice time watching everyone elese eat and enjoy there food. LOL...it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I thought, I would fall out when they took out that whole sheet Publix cake, which sweets are my weak spot, but a lot better since the bad.. I didn't fall out and no I didn't eat a piece. It's very important that you stay on the plan, especially the first month.. I brought my protein with me in a zip lock bag, and I asked for a water when it was time. I even brought my 100% Dole juice with me... I'm sorry you're faced with this but you can get through it.. yes use the excuse you don't feel good or you're coming down with the flu virus if you don't want everyone to know.. I'm glad everyone at my table knew I had it, so it wasn't so bad... I hope everything works out.

    Only one side effect

Congrats on your band, I was banded on April 15th. And I haven't had a fill yet either... It's scary because I've been able to eat a lot more, than when I was first banded, but of course I'm still skeptical and taking it easy.. But what really scared me was, I was able to eat a crossiant sandwhich on yesterday, a whole one, I called the dr's office and asked could I come in sooner to get a fill, which my first fill is scheduled for June 11th. From what I've been reading that's the reasons for the fill, I haven't been as hungry as I was before, but I defintely understand where divaondean mentioned on her comment.. Hang in there we will all get through this together, it's so helpful reading everyone elses comments, that lets me know I'm not in this alone... divaondean hang in there be encouraged, I'm glad you didn't eat that food, it's defintely to early for you, hang in there. everytime I eat I burp for like an hr, it' doesn't hurt though, and I had vomited yet, thank God I'm so scared to, and I pray it never happens, I had a minor eposide the first week into the surgery eating a popscile, it came up a little but other than that, I've been fine. Keep me updated...

    Bike Riding?

Hi, you might have to check with your surgeon on that, because I was banded 5 weeks ago, and I was told I could only do walking. I wouldn't think anything would be wrong with riding a bike, but just don't over do it. But to be on the safe side I with speak with the dr first. Congrats on your band. You are doing great if you're ready to ride on the bikes.

    Freaking out!!!

I'm in a wow,, I was able to eat a ham crossiant this morning (a whole one) without any problems, I'm 5 1/2 weeks with the band, and I was told when I went to the dr's on May 11th that I was doing fine, on that day I was still restricted to eating, but since then 2 weeks later I've realized I can eat a little more, the dr told me on that day that I didn't have any filling in my band, and that on June 11th I would get my first fill. I called the dr's office today and told them I think I need to come before June 11th because I was able to eat a whole sandwhich The seceratary told me she would give me a call but I haven't heard back from her yet. Hopefully she will call me back on tomorrow. I'm not sure if anyone band has been empty like mine. But I'm stressing.. Any advice would be helpful.. Thanks in advance.

    I'm on my way

I pray that your surgery goes well.. I'm sure it will. You will loose weight the first week after the band, I'm sure.. because you will only be on clear liquids for a couple of days, so you will have no choice.. then after that you'll go on full liquids, so you will loose weight.. Trust me. It's been 5 weeks since I've had my band and I've lost a total of 23lbs.. I would have like to have done lost more, but I'll take what I can get for now.. I go for my first fill on June 11th. I only took a week off and I was able to return to work with no problems, just a littl soreness but in time it went away.. I think the walking helped so make sure you move around for at least 30 minutes a day....You will be fine, be encouraged.

Please share your post op stories

Morning, I felt better after about 3 days of so. I even went back to work after a week, I was able to walk straight, a little pain an soreness was still there, but it wasn't that bad. I was still able to move about and go to the store. I think you need to see your doctor if you still not able to move about. But you're suppose to walk at least 30 minutes a day, and each day should get better and better. I'm in my 5th week and I feel great. Hope you feel better soon.

I do not want to fail

Be encouraged, we have all been on the liquid stage, and mushies stage. You will get through this.. I was feeling the same way. I'm in my 5th week since surgery, and when I weighed my self last week I was only down, 21 lbs, when I went to my post op appt on May 11th I was only down 17 lbs, so you have lost 14lbs in one week I think that's great. We all loose weight at different stages.. You will be just fine, at first I felt as if I wasn't drinking a lot either, but get some juice you like remember 100% fruit juice at least that's what my instructions were, maybe some juicy, juice or something, switch it up, I also drank Dole 100% juice, strawberry, banana and orange. because if you don't switch it up it will get boring.. at least it did for me. If you like crystal light drink some of that. Try and make sure you drink something , every hour not to exceed what you're suppose to have for the day. You want fail, think positive..

    Banded yesterday

Congrats, hang in there I was in pain also, as mentioned it will get better, each day will be better and better. Don't over due it though, get plenty of rest. In about a week, you'll feel a lot better. And you'll feel better when you're able to have your 100% whey protein. I also took Gas X the pills and it helped..

    Getting real close!

Hi, congrats, I had my surgery on April 15th. And I was very excited. You will experience a little pain right after surgery, at least I did but they gave me the best pain medicine. I took it every 4hrs as instructed because I didn't want the pain to sneak up on me. I was sent home with liquids pain medicine, Roxicet (Oxycodeon Hydrochloride and Actteminophen) boy did it work, but I tell you it put me to sleep less than 30 minutues, I didn't like that, I would just be sitting up and be knocked out. (LOL...) Make sure you drink plenty of liquids but I'm sure the dr will give you all those details and some. It's hard at first because you're not hungry or thristy... but you have to do it. Have everything you need on hand, because I found myself having to go to the store every couple of days... it's a big adjustment but you will make it through.... Be encourgaged you will do just fine.. Make sure you follow your dr's instructions, I have not once had the dumping syndrome and I'm so thankful for that, because I'm very scared of what that does...So go really, really slow and take your time on everything...especially the first month.. I'm going into my 5 week and I have lost about 23 lbs, which some people loose more, it all depends on your body... I pray that all goes well next week.
  13. Hi there I was banded on 4-15-09. You can do it, be encouraged. I've had some good days and bad, the first couple of weeks were hard, but I seem to be getting through it. Keep your head up and take one day at a time. You will we will all get through this. I went to my post op appt on monday and I'm down 17lbs, not where I would of like to have been but hey I'll take that. Tomorrow I start on introduction to solid foods, I'm scared that the lbs that I've lost I might not gaining back, but I'm going to work extra hard to do more exercise. My dr told me on monday, plenty of exercise... that's the key and follow the plan.. You can do it.. beleive in yourself..

  14. typo today made a month since the band. lol

  15. Thank you. So far I'm feeling good. Can't complain. When I seen the Dr on Monday I was down 17lbs. Today made a month since the bad. I really look forward to loosing more weight. I didn't have to do a pre-op diet. When I went to get my preop work done, on April 14th I was weighing my heaviest ever 288lbs. But just seein your pictures encouraged me. So keep up the good work.. I have a friend who had it done, last year on April 11th and she's only down a total of 48lbs. So you're doing great!!!!! I pray I get those results that you've gotten.

  16. After reading the comments I see you're down 57 lbs, that's awsome. I have my first fill on June 11th.

  17. Hi, Tmg333 wow your pictures look great. I was recently banded on 04/15/09. How much weight have you lost since you've been banded?
