  1. Honestly, I don't know if I'll be able to stand the show. I watched the first episode. The guy doesn't seem like a real catch to me. He seemed rather blah, monotone, and boring. Couldn't they have found someone with a little more personality?
  2. Also never did a barium swallow or anything. Is that normal?
  3. Will be more detailed in the surgery stories later (not tonight). Went in at 6:15am this morning and got home at 2pm. I'm definitely really sore and it doesn't feel like the pain meds are doing much, but it's manageable! I'm doing pretty good otherwise. Didn't have any nausea after the surgery from the anesthesia, which I'm thrilled about! I also don't have any horrible gas pains or anything. Do those begin immediately or are they supposed to start the next day or something? My surgeon also filled me to 2cc. I had no idea he was planning on it. No hiatal hernia (which I was kind of expecting to happen). Everything went very smoothly!! I also thought I would be on Clear liquids for a week, then another week of full liquids. But turns out I only have clear liquids today and I can start full liquids tomorrow. Then mushies week 2. Not hungry right now. Haven't had any problems drinking (never regurgitated or anything). And I have 6 bandages on my stomach, so I guess they made 6 incisions? But I'm so happy and I'm totally looking forward to this new life!!!
  4. I'm getting banded tomorrow morning. I have to be at the hospital at 6:15am, ew. I haven't been nervous until today. Once I got the call where I was told what time surgery is scheduled, it got really real, lol! I'm not horribly nervous, but I am nervous. My leg is bouncing up and down. I wish the surgery was a little later so that I had more time to get stuff together in the morning, since I'll be going to my mom's house. Maybe we can stop by my house after the surgery.
  5. Aw. I was like, "Yay!" I'm not an emotional person at all, so I knew I wouldn't cry. I was happy about it, though!
  6. LOL, seriously? I feel like I'm at my mom's house or something. :tongue2:
  7. My hold up was getting all the appointments taken care of (nutritionist, psychologist, meeting with endocrinologist). I went to the seminar on the 28th, my consult was on the 15th of June. Then I had this whole psychologist issue (first guy tried to charge me $300 for tests). So then I had to see someone else, then take a PAI test (charged as a session), then a follow-up. Nutritionist was on the 25th. Finally saw the endocrinologist on the 30th (couldn't get an earlier appointment). I had my pre-op consult with the surgeon on the 6th of July, which is where I gave them all the paperwork. They submitted it the next day. I was approved in 16 days (on the 23rd of July). And my surgery is in 2 days.
  8. Tonight was rough... I went to a Bunco's party and there was a huge assortment of delicious looking food. And everyone was drinking beer and wine. Didn't touch a thing and drank my water. :tongue2:
  9. I'm on Day 5 of a 7 day diet and I haven't cheated.
  10. lol, banned.... band oknotthatfunny
  11. I think they were banned from the forum.
  12. I was wondering the same thing, so thank you for asking this question. I wear something like that to work everyday. Goes from the knees to the braline. I couldn't imagine not wearing it and jiggling around, haha.
  13. So you may have to just ride it out. Should go away in a couple days to a couple weeks.
  14. Headache could be from a couple things: 1. Sugar Withdrawals 2. Caffeine Withdrawals 3. Dehydration I'm pretty positive mine is from not having sugar. Past couple days have been fierce with headaches.
  15. Maaan, I'm so jealous! My OOP is going to be aorund $1,500, I'm sure! Good luck with everything!!
  16. Ohhh man, brownies would be much more painful to me than donuts.
  17. Ugh, it must suck to be sick while going through this diet! And you have a long pre-op diet, wow. Wait, I guess it's only 2 weeks. I was so happy when I found out mine would only be a week, lol! But yeah, I can't wait until I can eat some sort of solid food!
  18. OMG, just got approved by insurance!!!! My surgeon was optimistic about the approval and scheduled the surgery for the 28th. They submitted the paperwork on the 7th and it was approved today (the 23rd). It was getting close, so we were a little worried.
  19. I'm scheduled for surgery on Tuesday (the 28th) and started my Pre-op diet on Tuesday (the 21st). I have a low-carb, liquid diet. So... liquid/drinks, milk, Jello, Protein shakes, yogurt, cottage cheese (about as non-liquid as it gets). So this is day 3. And I've been totally fine. I was hungry the first day, but not horribly so. And I do have a constant headache, most likely from not having any sugar. Right now it's 10am and I haven't had anything other than Water. I'm about to drink a Protein shake. The first day I had: 1/2 c. Cottage Cheese, 1/2 bottle Isopure, 2 c. Egg Drop Soup, 1 protein shake (carton), 2 Jello 2nd day: 1 protein shake (carton), 1 c. Egg Drop Soup, 2 Jello, 1 protein shake (powder) I also made my first protein shake last night using the powder (Gold Standard - Double Rich Chocolate), milk, and Dolce sugar-free Caramel syrup. It was so good! It tasted like a milkshake. Not chalky at all. I'll have ZERO problems with cheating. Sure, I want other things... someone brought in donuts yesterday... but I'm fine with my diet right now.
  20. I started mine today and it's only 7 days. I have my surgery (hopefully) on 7/28.
  21. I'm starting my pre-op diet today. My surgery is a week from today, so it's not too bad. I say that now, lmao. I'm already so hungry and it's only noon! :bored: I have a low-carb, liquid diet. The most non-liquid I can get is yogurt, Jello, and cottage cheese. I could really go for some Soup right now, but I don't have any available to me.
  22. I'm starting my pre-op diet today. I bought a bottle of this a few days ago, while at GNC. So I just tried it. It's ok at first, then it turns weird tasting, then it has a chalky-ish aftertaste/feel. I think it's tolerable, but I wouldn't call it "good". Unfortunately, I don't have many options. :bored: I haven't tried a Protein shake yet.
