  1. There is a woman who has had her band in for 16 yrs on obesity help .com she is now getting it out and there was 2 other women I talked too who have had the band out and one said she gained 15lbs back since having her band out 8mnths ago and the other has maintained her weight since having her band out two years ago, some people can learn to maintain there weight some people I agree it is harder and they do gain there weight back but it can be done .........

  2. I have been wondering the same thing I heard there wasn't a big difference between the two they both claim to be better then the other, then I read that the realize band is a newer version of the lapband difference in the way there made and cc types, then one lady said she saw both and the regular one seemed to be constructed better then the realize so yeah I am confused to ...lol so anyone who can help us please do so .............. thanksssss:confused::cool2:

  3. I am not banded yet but also from what I read even though it is supposed to be forever and there are people on here who have had it 10plus yrs I think 5 yrs is about the average of when I have seen people start having slippage and erosion but I see it like this is I get at least 5 years by then you should have good eating habits in effect and your body should be adjust to your new life style foods, exercise ect.... but hey if we can get more then five years that is better for us .

  4. Hello all it was suggested to me to join ya'll on this thread, I am 33 yrs old married 2 kids and I live in GA and I just started the procedure to be banded with Dr.Hobson in Atlanta. I look forward to sharing our journeys with each other and learning all I can from the one who are already banded..

  5. Ok I am going to be the brave one...lol I have done this with my husband a few times and yes if you have some stimulation on the clitoris while he is in there you do get a very pleasurable orgasm, if you let him go in the front while you are on your back it is less painful and when you use lubes and stuff you have nothing to worry about as far as poop nothing oes on your hands or anything else ..oh lord way to much TMI .but I feel I should share my knowledge...lol This not something you should do all the time like I said we have been together 61/2 years and have done it a couple times so its not an everyday thing ..lol just when you hit the experimenting mode.... ok that was enough braveness for me....

  6. Ok I haven't had my surgery yet and I am getting the band and I will say this yes there are complications but there are complications to all the other surgeries as well as being fat. The thing about the band is that, had you not had the band but the sleeve and something went wrong you can not reverse it , when they cut your stomach for those other surgeries thats it !! Your risk would have been alot higher of dieing had you had the bypass and got infected or leaked, so there are negatives and positives to them all and there are hundreds and hundreds of banders out there that have succeeded I truly believe in my heart that you have to do what is best for you despite what anyone else says and what ever choice you make it was your choice and you work the program and make it succeed for you if you have complications pray and take it one day at a time because all these surgeries are risky but this is a risk I am willing to take to save my life and give myself and my family a better us!!! Think of the percentage of people being becoming diabetic and dieing from being fat ????????????It is a high percentage !!!! I will not be in that percentage I am taking my life back !!

  7. Ok friends my journey began today I went to my PCP and she is sending a referral to Dr.Hobson and she did an EKG today and is doing my lab work tom morn now i am gonna look for a nutritionist and Phycologist that takes Peachstate and go to my seminar on the 16th I am on roll.................. yeah !!!

  8. Hey work in progress, yeah I bounce between here and obesityhelp.com they are both great I have gotten alot of info , who is doing or did your band? add me as a friend I have no idea how to do that yet on here that way we can keep in touch through our journey I just called and today and got an appointment for my PCP tom trying to get a head start on the tests.

  9. Ok I have been researching this all over what I found is that Medicaid will pay for the surgery if you have Amerigroup they will make you do a 6mnth to a yr supervised diet first and Peach state doesn't and Peachstate is an easier approval, I know that Dr.Duncan and Dr.Hobson office in Atlanta do take medicaid I am going to there seminar on the 16th of this mnth. now the only thing I am trying to confirm is that Peachstate will cover Lapband..........
