Morning all, Go Jes - this will be great! I'm good today - PORT IS SO FLIPPIN SORE! I truly can't believe how much it hurts - Heather, I'm so glad Doc Fisher got all the gas out too - I was a little worried about that gas pain on top of the port pain and incisions stinging but... Only port pain! WHEN CAN I SHOWER? Can't bend over to get my binder LOL. Really want to freshen up but afraid the shower will sting in the incision areas but I also want to keep them clean so they don't get infected - I swear Im such a wimp! Riley - gonna try the tylenol - got a whole bottle of liquid lortab up for auction... any takers LOL. that stuff is the worst! But Really, snakes hahahaha. Jes should be alomost out. hope they don't find any hernias in her too!! -

john, I'm glad you're coming - Tina you too! Ok, Riley - the lortab is a no no for me. I tried to take it so i could run laps but as soon as I got up to walk, I felt like I was going to vomit! then passed out LOL Now my head hurts so I think it makes me feel worse then if I just suffer thru the soreness -

Maria - have you heard of the Atkins Fat Fast? I lost 11lbs in 9 days doing that. Give it a try for a few days. You're probably a prius like me :mad2: Don't get discouraged though, we all have a problem mainting/losing weight - that's why we are here LOL -

I didn't realize Patrick Swayze died yesterday. There's nothing about it on TV today - guess he's not as important as Michael Jackson - so sad -

You go Demi Moore with your young boy toy LOL. I am so amazed that you can walk 2 miles up hill without dying. I feel like I can't walk two fee right now without dying. All I got for pain meds is Vicodin and that never does anything for me. maybe I'll try some to see if it makes walking my laps a little better. But yeah, Doc Fisher got all that gas out cuz I feel nothing! and no, I'm not going back to work any time soon LOL. Yes, April - the port site really truely sucks! They say it's cuz it's sewn into a muscle so the muscle is really sore. Getting up & down is hard but it is what it is and it will all be worth it in the long run. Just got to grin & bare it for a little while. How are you feeling? What's going on with your accident? Pammie, I'm glad you got your unfill. It's scary to think that you could slip your band from pbing so much. must feel so much better now. -

BTW tina - i don't have a recliner but i sure wish I did. using these stomech muscles to try to get up & down is tough! I think what hurts the most is where the port is sewn into my side - I don't feel anything else but that and boy is it sore! -

Finally all caught up - thanks for all your suppport and concern. Pammie, got your message but thought calling you back at 6:00 on my way to the hospital woulda been too early - sorry you're so tight! Hope you hit your sweet spot soon. Jes, love the dress girlfriend - my father would've said you look like a hooker and that woulda been the best compliment you could ever get from him - he had a thing for hookers LOL. Maria - how did your appt with liz go? she's a great lady. Reggie, my cinderella - so glad to see you back. you've come way way way too far so stay on track ! I want to see you on here more!!!! Riley - I can't wait to want to exercise haha. It is a strange feeling not to want to eat - I've never really been hungry but ALWAYS wanted to eat but not now... I hope it lasts for a while. Nicole - the dress looks so good! How long till I get down to a 12??? I like the whole make over idea - we should find a beauty college and get updo's and make up & manni peddi's - It's lilke 5 bucks per treatment - the whold day could cost only $25.00 - I think it would be so fun. Then we could all go to dinner or something. Tina - so good to hear you may get to keep your job! All this stress must take it's toll Tamra - you go girl! I just don't know how you and heather do it - how you get the weight off so quickly! I like that we have "teams" It so helps to have somebody at your same place with you. Maria, Tamra & Heather .... All up next! Analynn - RNY or Band either way we are here for you - this is a SUPPORT group and either way you need support. Please do your research and be sure you know what's what! Christine - I can't believe how time flies - you'll know the sex of the baby next month? did I read that right?? Donna - how was subbing yesterday? I don't think I aksed when I talked to you - sorry - may have been a little self-centered hahahaha John, where are you homeboy? It would be great if you came to the group - we mostly just socialize LOL. The leader - usually Angel but sometimes Donna - will talk a littlle about a topic then we split into groups via type of surgery - band or RNY. If you haven't had surgery yet you can float back and fourth to gather info for "research" if you want. everybody is very nice and willing to answer questions. the best part is us bandsters go have lunch afterwards! Join us!! It's just so nice having people around who get it! who understand what you'r going thru - band, sleeve or rny - it's all the same in the end! Time to do another lap! -

Good morning all - so, today I feel like I just went a couple rounds with Layla (sp) Ali - took one too many body shots! Yesterday went by so quickly - I was the first one in the pre op room for a little bit - got to sit in this nice comfy recliner chair - would love one for the house - anyway, I had Ayesha for pre op - she was so adorable and sweet - very soft spoken with the cutest accent. She gave me a play by play fo EVERYTHING she was doing. Love her. I got a short chunky nurse named vincent or victor for my or nurse and I can't remember the anesthesiologist (sp?) name - tall & blonde - very sweet! Dr. Im was assisting surgeon however I didn't meet or see him/her at all. I promised them I'd look much better naked when I came back for my TT. Get this... I WALKED into the O.R. - never done that before, usually wheeled in. It was Freezing! First thing I saw was the bed with the arms stretched out and I said I feel like "dead man walking" it looks like the lethal injection bed LOL. I didn't look around for any surgical tools or anything just looked straight up at the lights and asked if anybody every got up and walked out - they said not for the lap band. The anesthesia lady put a shot in my tube that stung, then another one and the next thing I remeber is her saying "Candra, wake up" I said "ok". and I was up. I had Bonnie for my recovery nurse - she let me go al fresco! loved her. she aksed me how my pain was and I said "what pain" cuz I didn't feel anything. I asked her if she had given me any pain meds and she said no. When I was trying to get dressed to leave I couldn't bend over to put on my panties and she said "you don't need those" hehehe. I was home by 1:00. My husband got a little teary when I got up to walk into the OR. I felt bad that he was nurvous. I wasn't nurvous at all. So, jes, my suggestion is to wear a lose fitting dress - so easy and no bending over required! I can bring you the one I wore if you want it. Also, I didn't need the pillow I brought at all but... ? Bring it just in case - also, get some gas-x strips - I don't know if i was just lucky or if they really worked cuz I don't really feel any gas pain - I liitle sore in the decalatage (sp) area - the base of my neck - when I take a deep breath and they said that was the gas but... nothing to write home about. I took the MOM and went to Wally - about 2 hourse after I took it it kicked in - I had to park the cart and hit the potty - not too bad thought I was fine for another hour after that. The first time I took any vicodin was at 3:30 this morning and that was just because i slept so much yesterday that I couldn't go back to sleep - so I took it to sleep. I don't think I have any Fluid in my band. I don't feel it at all, can drink just like i did before - I'm so very thirsty. My poor kitty just wants to play. Oh, when we first bought this house I got a brand new toilet - it's my thing - when we were renting before I'd always get a brand new toilet seet and have my husband put it on before we moved any of our stuff in... call me monk - anyway this time I got to actually change the whole toilet - exciting - My husband and step daughter are both 6' and my stepdaugther has a pin in her hip & her let is pointed outwards so I decided to get the handicapped toilet - it's taller! i'm so very thankful for that now LOL It's easy to get on and off of it - i don't have to use any stomech mussles. Ok, so I know I got a lot of reading and catching up to do so I'm gonna start that now! -

Tomorrow morning Riley Jane - you should know better than that! LOL I'm here TODAY! Ok, so I didn't catch up on everyghing but saw that on the top of the page and I had to let you know whats up! I'M SO FLIPPIN TIRED TODAY - my shoulder/bottom neck area hurts a little when i breathe in but that's nothing. I HAD A HIATAL HURNIA (SP) and never knew it but it's all fixed now . Just finished walking a lap and breathing out of that stupid machine and now I'm tuckered - back to sleep. thaks ladies for all you do! -

ok, so I just finished my "last supper" I had a hankerin for KFC - grilled chicken and slaw - isn't that silly - this MOM is making me now want to eat so this is the first thing I've wanted to eat all day - go figure! glad I've been piggin out the last 3 days! scared to see the scale in the morning!!! Riley - haven't really listened to my CD - funny thing is, you guys have made me so calm & excited about this I'm not nervous at all - more like I can't wait! that may change once I get there LOL. thanks, tina & chris - I'll definately be thinking of all of you tomorrow. Jes, how are you feeling about all this? Heather & Tamra - you two are so so so next! You nervous at all? Don't be! I'm not!! Donna - what's the word? Sorry, i'm just not into walking the bridge LOL Had so many other things I needed to do - actually, with all the eating I've been doing, I should be walking that darn thing. I'll check in with you as soon as I get home. Nicole - how are you & yours - sick my poor auds!! -
Hey Suz, don't even trip - this is a piece of cake - I'm getting banded tomorrow morning - gotta be at the hospital at 6:30 am. I have met tons of people that are already banded and theres nothing to it. every doctor or hospital has their own requirements. I belong to kaiser - we have to lose 10% of our weight first to shrink the liver, we can only have clear liquids after 6pm the night before and nothing after midnight - we can only have clear liquids 2 days after surgery, then full liquids for two weeks then mushy food for another two weeks then we are good to go. My doctor said to resume any and all medications the day after surgery and there's no crushing required. this is a really easy in and out procedure and you'll do great. the best advise you can get it to walk, walk, walk right after surgery to help get rid of all the fluids and gas they pump you up with.

Hey all - just a quick check in before tomorrow - I had spent ALL day yesterday checking out wineries, wine tasting, mexican food, chocolate - hope I'm not over my limit LOL. Cleaning and doing laundry today - FYI Jes, not a good idea to take the milk of magnesia then head out to walmart for some last minute items LOL. Just wanted to check in to let you all know that I haven't chickened out yet. hahaha - I'll check in with you later. -

Have a good trip Tina! John you are too funny - I don't think it's based on what we search for because there is always something there - I thougt it was MoniqueD so I was gonna roll by & chat but this guy must have been extremely high when he was posting LOL. Bet i got a dress you can have for work  So we know you can't post from work so we'll hear from you later Emily, don't be jealous of my relationship with Doc Fisher - he's not a talkative/joking type a guy that I can tell. but I guess i prefer it that way - don't really wanna be cozy with a man thats about to see ALL of me naked - stictly professional is more comfy for me. Riley riley riley - you are the exercise super queen. You'll do great in the marathon. Jes, while a free transgender operation does sound tempting I think we manage the $15 bucks for you if you need help LMAO. I can't call till 1:30 to find out my surgery time. Maria - I too am freaking out but, again, think how cute we'll be in our "summer" wear next year. Al Fresco here I come. gotta have a little refresher course with The Doc about what an acceptable scar is. Good Morning Donna! -

Hey, Christine - we all kinda figured he was so much more conservative by the amount of weight he makes us lose first. I had to lose more than 10% and Heather has to lose way way more than 10%. Happy that Baggs gave you back your fill! -

thanks Pammie - I'm excited too! Riley Jane, I'm not so sure that I'm the first thing monday morning - I hafta call tomorrow and find out but I do know that they scheduled my barium swallow for 11:30 so that's a good sign. I haven't had my TOM in about 3 years - did I mention that I love my depo shot! Heather I am so so proud but guess what - at the rate you're going, that dress just might me a little too big by December - hope you got a back up dress LOL. Ah, Johnny boy - you're the lurker LOL To be honest, the Sacramento support group isn't as big as you think - it's mostly us girls on this thread - there was another guy there last time and Rosie who NEVER LOGS ON - grr. and bout maybe 10 RNY people. But you'd be sitting in our group - should you decide to come, let us know and we can track you down and make you sit wtih us. The best part is that we usually go to mimi's for lunch afterwards. It truely does make a difference to have the support - Like AA hahaha. Nicole, Nicole, where for art thou, Nicole? How are you feeling. Reggie, my Cinderella - what's the scoup ? Are you locked in your tower? do you need me to come rescue you? I know where you live and, although it may take me an hour to get there, just say the word girlfriend. Tamra - you are so lucky I don't know where you live! TeenaMarie - what is your middle name anyway - check in with us so we know what's going on. Christine, how's that belly??? Morning yuckyness gone yet? Emily - how bout you? You up for the sacramento group If you all come I promise to show you my freshly cut flesh... I will be, what, 12 days post op and Jes will be 10~ Jes, how are you my little band buddy - still having the moments of pause?? I haven't had one all day, well, except for now cuz I'm talking about it LOL. Just think how cute we'll be next summer by the pool - that's how i get past the pause. I really need to get my feet done but don't want to waste the money since I'd hafta take the polish right back off! I'm thinkin I can do it Monday afternoon while I'm still on drugs LOL. I don't think the anti nausia meds do any good so i just may pass - don't need to wast another 10 bucks on pills. As they say in the pen "3 days and a wake up!" -

Analynn - I'm booty shakin with you! You're right behind us! Don't even tripp of your so called friend. People who haven't made this decision in life will never see it the way we do. One of my oldest friends had RNY and went thru all the same stuff with her peeps so that's why I decided not to tell anybody but the few hundred people that read this site and my husband! Keep us posted on your visit with Dr. Park - can't wait to find out how much weight she wants you to lose! This is where it really begins! -

Hi Emily! Great to see you here. Just one question cuz i'm not the sharpest tool in the shed... You say you got banded on May 21st... is that of this year, 2009? I ask because your join date says Mar "2006" ...? You have a 14cc band? I thought the bands Kaiser uses is a 10cc Band?? I know you said SSF but Doc Fisher says ALL california Kaisers have the same exact contracts and equipment. I would like a 14cc band! I think I'm gonna need 14cc's to feel full LOL. I'm getting banded on Monday! -
Help! Is there any good tasting drinks? maybe fruity?

Try the Protein shots - they come in fruit punch. I hear they are pretty good. Got em at costco. I haven't tried them yet - saving them for my clear liquids after surgery on Monday drinks. -
