Looking for a Fill in Ohio

I know most clinics will want some kind of up front fee for a transfer patient. I was banded in Cincinnati and off the top of my head I want to say they charged $500 to US patients and $1000 to patients banded in Mexico. The clinic is excellent though and I highly recommend them. It's Cincinnati Weight Loss Center which I believe is now under the wing of UC Health. http://uchealth.com/weightloss/
  5. The great news is you've already got the tool to do it with. Good luck!
  6. I take three pills every night without any issue.

    is my band too tight?

You MAY be too tight or you may not be. When you get good restriction it's possible to confuse it with being too tight. One thing that is important is that you do not dehydrate. That can exacerbate the problem. Many bandsters skip breakfast and drink hot drinks until lunch time. My doctor always said that he likes his patients to be restricted so that dinner is their most comfortable meal. If you think you're too tight then definitely talk to your doc or get some fluid out. You can also try taking some liquid motrin early in the morning, drinking hot drinks until lunch and then eating something easy like tuna salad or refried beans. I'd recommend something dense and with a lot of protein. Make sure you take a small first bite and CHEW CHEW CHEW. Put down your utensil in between each bite. Also, many bandsters wouldn't go the cereal route because of the carbs but that's for you to decide. Well that's some advice off the top of my head. Good luck!

Need Help!! Any suggestions for financing?

You can rebuild credit pretty fast these days. Just do it responsibly and I bet you could get CareCredit within a year.

    Messed up a little?

Oh man. You're so screwed. Just kidding. Lol. Honestly, you're being more conscientious than most which probably means you'll do really well with the band. Good luck!
  12. Are you in pain? Pain might indicate a slip. If you're just SUPER tight you may need to have some fluid to take out. Once you're as tight as you are now it's hard to loosen up. You may be dehydrating as well. If you can keep it down you might try some liquid motrin but I would recommend calling your doc and getting a little fluid out. If you get to the point where you can't keep liquids down at all you need to call and tell them it's an emergency.

    cookbook?

I hear this question asked a lot and it's a tough one to answer. Giving recommendations for liquids and mushies is usually pretty universal. However, once you get banded all bets are off. Our bands can be so finicky and different from each other depending on size, placement, an restriction. What I would recommend is trying to stick to dense foods as they seem to go through the band well. I'd encourage you to mix things up a lot and try new things. You might find certain diets like Atkins or South Beach work great for you or you discover they are terrible. It's taken me a long time to get used to what foods work well with my band and which ones don't. It still surprises me sometimes when my 'go to' foods are almost impossible for someone else to eat and then they tell me their 'go to' foods I can't hardly eat them. Just experiment experiment experiment and find out what works well for you. Oh, and just so you know, don't be surprised if you have to throw away the rulebook after each fill. Lol. Good luck on your journey!
  16. Don't let the painkillers run out! Lol. I was pretty good the next day...even drove around buying chocolates for my wife. The first four days are the worst...once you get past that it's easy sailing. Good luck!

If you think I'm an Internet bully then you might want to log off now... PS - I'm not the one calling you names and acting like a drunk chick in a Wal-Mart parking lot.

how long did you wait for real food?

I have a friend that keeps stretching her pouch out because of drinking with meals. I too bend rules sometimes but I tend to learn that they are there for a reason. Fortunately you are now able to adjust your eating and drinking and get your pouch back in shape. That's a valuable lesson learned and one that I think many people disregard out of all of the rules. Thank you for sharing and for your informative post.

how long did you wait for real food?

I did answer your question and I quote, "so why do they want us to wait and how long did you wait?" We're not here to do your bidding so if we don't answer every question you post with a smile and a curtsey maybe you need to get off of the internet and go fly a kite especially if you don't like the answers you got. PS - You are correct that I am not you. Thank the heavens. I think we can all agree that we are glad on that point.

    First Fill

Let me be honest. 99% of your fear will look silly after the fill. We build it up so much and it's such an easy process that you'll be pleasantly surprised. I've been stuck over 20 times and I even used to have a fear of needles. Fills are never a problem. You'll be fine.
  24. Limiting my food intake close to bed time has really helped me as well. I also have a 4x4 under the head of my bed i've had there for years to help elevate my head. I could probably take it out but if it ain't broke...
