    Completed my first 5K

    WOOHOO CONGRATS!!!!! It really is such a huge difference when you aren't carrying that weight! I picked up my 50lb child and just carried her across the house and WOW, how did we ever carry all that extra weight around! LOL
  3. So yesterday was supposed to be my first ever 5K race but a few weeks back I decided to do the Scope it Out with my friends but I was still signed up for todays and it was AWESOME! First I made a goal for myself to weight 175 by race day! Because of course I could run a race at 175lbs! LOL Well earlier this week I didn't think I would make it as I was doing not so great Well I DID! YAY!! The scale was 175.6 this morning! WOOHOO!! Go to the 5K and found out there were hills UGH I was not looking forward to this! It was downhill at the start so that meant uphill at the end! SUCKY SUCK SUCK!!! BUT, I did pretty good. Could have done better but am VERY happy with my time of 36:17!! WOOHOO Thats 1:40 better then the last race where there were NO hills! LOL
  4. Just happened to me for the first time the other night (with Chicken too) and it sucked!! I am 5 months out and have done so good thus far but I guess I got complacent.

    Ut Oh

    So I have totally been letting my brain win this week I have been eating like CRAP and last night really did it! My roomies went and got chicken which is great cuz it's good Protein and such. Well I ate two chicken strips, a few fries and a 1/4 of a biscuit in a VERY SHORT amount of time and I was paying for it!! I came SO close to throwing up, it scared me I was actually in the bathroom with my mouth producing A LOT of "water" just like before I throw up but thank goodness I never did (#1 reason I did sleeve instead of band, I HATE to throw up). Now today, I have been in the bathroom twice before 0730 That is not like me and it's bad, stomach cramps and all I haven't been on here as much as I would like. Haven't been to a support group since I moved 2 months ago, haven't seen a surgeon or NUT since I moved either and I think I am just letting being around others who are eating "normal" effect me and I HAVE to stop that!! I still have a good chuck of weight to lose (even though I do feel GREAT!!)! I am trying to tell myself that we will all go through times when we could be doing better and that it's normal but dang, it's hard! LOL

    Not feeling so good today This is what is planned but I don't know if I'll get it all or not with how I feel! 5 Months B - 1 cup coffee and trying to get a Protein shake down L - Sausage bites and cheese crackers D - ??? V - at night W - really going to shoot for a full 60oz today! E - if weather is good I plan to walk after work!

    YAY for Wed!!! 5months B- Coffee - Protein Shake L - Sausage bites and cheese crackers D - fish??? S - beef jerky and CPT Crunch V - at night W - 40oz down E - walked 1 mile at lunch and plan to do at least 2 mile run after work!

    It's Tuesday and it's been a day already 5 Months B - coffee and Protein shake (full 60g) L - Sausage bites and cheese crackers D - no clue! LOL S - Beef Jerky and Cookies I NEED to get away from the cookies so I gave the rest of them away! LOL V - at night W - working it E - in and out today no real exercise though

    Start.............Current...............Goal..............Lbs to go 192.8.............176.4...................175................1.4 So I didn't make this goal but I'm not upset about it, I know my body is still lossing the way it needs to and I am SO happy with my journey thus far!!!!!!   12. I Have CTS and No the WL hasn't helped it! LOL The only thing I have found is really changing your behavoirs and physical therpy! I haven't got to the point where I want to have surgery (docs have suggested but I'll try everything else first) but I have very aware of how I sit, type, drive, etc! I should be wearing braces but have been feeling pretty good for sometime now since I have changed how I do things but I'm driving for 1 1/2 hours per way to work and back each day so my wrists have been hurting a lot more lately!

    Dumping Syndrom

    I have found that if I eat something with too much FAT in it I will be in the bathroom A LOT and painful cramping and such the next day but nothing because of sugar! So far the only thing that does it for me is regular ice cream (and it's not the milk because I drink milk EVERYday!)

    Good Friday! I'm not doing so well on this Good Friday 5 Months Post-op B - Coffee/Protein shake L - taters and gravy (went to a prayer lunch and the fish looked NASTY and taters was the only thing else that I liked!) D - Fish S - I think I'll do a Protein bar after work! V - at night W - working on it E - none today ;(

    VSG Failure

    I second the being in a support group or seeing someone to help with the changes as well as HERE! I tell myself EVERYDAY that I did not go through all of this to not lose the weight and that helps me to remember when I try to put something to my lips! I have recently gone back to work and it's been a BIG adjustment for me. I am commuting 1 1/2 hour each way and I'm still "learning" so there is A LOT of down time so I want to snack! First thing I learned, if I don't have it with me, I can't eat it! Keep all those snacky foods away so you can't grab them! Second, Protein PORTEIN PROTEIN! I am honestly sick of all this protein but I know it works! Take yesterday for example (I was in breifings all day and traveling) I had a Protein Bar for Breakfast, a cheeseburger patty (ony the meat and cheese) for lunch and then some beef Jerky on the ride home and then eggs for dinner! ALL I ate was full protein yesterday and I felt FULL all day long. Are you still doing Protein shakes? I still have one for breakfast everyday! The third one is Exercise! What have you been doing? I have found that running is actually really good for me and I have started doing races! Also when I'm getting tired of running I am doing classes like Zumba or Step or a Spin Class! Water classes or just swimming is a Great option!     What do you plan to eat Easter Sunday?

    I am 5 months post-op and I'll be having some HAM!!! That will be the biggest portion on my plate and then maybe a few veggies and some taters!

Since it's not the 25th yet I don't know where my starting point will be! LOL I put my BIG Goal as my goal for this! I have said a few times that it would be Awesome to be at goal by my daughter's bday in late June so I think by 4 July I should be able to do it! Right now I am at 178 so 28 in about 10 weeks is feasilbe, I think! LOL

  21. A group for WLS paients on FB posted about how if you let a Protein drink sit it will lose it's protein content. Has anyone heard of this? I make my drink (protein powder/milk/ice) at 0520 am and it sits in a cooler wrapped in an ice pack until usually 9am when I'm ready for Breakfast. It then takes me about 30 mins to drink it. Am I really loosing protein by doing this? I'm not sure how else I can work it since I only like them mixed in the blender and I leave my house at 535am and I just can't stomach it that early in the morning (I tried)! LOL

    Either of these dates are great as they are so close together plus an extra bonus for me! I have all along wanted to see how close I can get to goal weight by the 20th of June (my DD's bday)!!!

    I eat pizza almost weekly now but I always eat thin crust if I can help it and I just eat VERY slow! I still can only get through maybe 1 slice of regular and if I'm slow enough, 2 slices of thin crust! YAY! I remember the days of being able to eat a whole thin crust myself! LOL

    Just another Terrible Tuesday! LOL Nah, it's been Great Thus far! (5 months post-op) B - coffee and Protein shake L - Sausage and cheese crackers D - Ham and hashbrowns I think! LOL S - Beef jerky V - at night W - MUST get it in! E - not sure if I'll do 2 mile run or a 5K tonight after work!
