Doctor Passing Me off to Assistant

I havent seen the surgeon since surgery. It common practice these days. Besides the PA or Nut knows more about you than the surgeon.
  3. NO LAP BAND! Had one for 10 years. Nothing but dehydration, vomiting every day all day, reflux, aspiration while sleeping. Had the sleeve done July 9. Its great. Im a slow loser but I dont care. I can eat anything with no nausa or throwing up. The lapband came out and they didnt know the long terms affects. Read the revision boards on here

At a loss, because no loss

Im very similar. I had the band for 10 years, maintained my weightloss through vomiting every day all day. Unfilled for 2 years, gained 35 pounds. Have had the sleeve since July 9. Only down 13 pounds, 10 of which was the first 2 weeks. I go to the gym alot, mostly cardio, starting with some boot camp now. My nut says 80-100grms Protein and 50-80 carb. I never go over 50 unless I did alot at the gym. She says dont worry about calories. I do use my fitness pal and stay around 1000. I think my first couple months I was actually grazing and eating more carbs. I have no problems eating anything, even raw vegetables. There is no way in hell I could eat 1/4 cup and be satisfied. with exercising you have to consume more food otherwise your body goes into starvation mode. Now after my last appt I use mfp religiously and have lost 2 pounds. Im a very slow loser and dont have that much to lose to get to my original band weight. I have 25 pounds to lose and I dont care if it takes me 6 months. If I lose a pound a week its better than a 35 pound weight gain. Your diet I think looks like you arent eating enough carbs and calories for 4 days in the gym. I know its hard to believe it.
  5. In the hospital your iv is running fluids in you. You are probably just retaining the fluids.
  6. band to sleeve revision here. I wouldnt call myself a vegetarian by no means. A good Ribeye is heaven on a plate. I know our diet is mostly Protein and some veggie for the most part. Does anyone here use nuts or seeds as your protein vs having a piece of chicken or meat? I want to follow a paleo/primal diet but is all the veggies too high in carbs for us and too low in protein if Im eating so many veggies. I read Dr Weiner A Pound of Cure which for his wls patients he is more plant based and so is Jonathan Bailor, The Calorie Myth. More into the superfoods, etc but no counting calories. Anyone follow this type of diet?

How do you get your protein

I love my Protein shakes. I use Inspire and have probably 8 different flavors. Im thinking for lunches some walnuts, almonds, things like that but I know its not nearly as much protein than tuna or chicken

    Stall? Any advice?

I eat no processed food. low carb. Ill have 3 oz of Protein and a scoop of veg. Ill have my Protein shakes. I get in 80-100 gms of protein and get in my 64 oz of liquid. I go to zumba 2 times a week. treadmill and stair climber and yoga or pilates. no weight lifting yet. not cleared. I eat between 900-1000 calories a day.
  9. I have to measure everything. I dont feel the full feeling. No burping, hiccuping, pain, nausua, nothing
  10. I had coffee the day I got home. I only drink 1 cup a day anyway so I have no problems with it
  11. I had band for 10 years. Severe problems. Choking in the middle of the night, throwing up every day all day, 24/7. had severe dialated esophagus. Finally did revision July 9. I did have a little gerd in the beginning but nothing nexium didnt cure. I seem to be fine now

    Heavy lifting

Im at 38 days and doc said no more than 20 pounds. I go back next week and she will talk to me about lifting at the gym. She said no until then
  17. VDLT I just had to show up to appointment and not gain any weight. My PA pretty much just chatted with me. They figured Ive been through all this with the band I didnt need anything, which I would have liked. You do need to do the psych eval again. After the 3 months appointments then they submit to BCBS. I have basic and I was so shocked they approved me. But that was my experience with my doc.
  18. I had only 3 months of doc appts to do, and psych eval. They had all my records from my lapband and barium swallows to prove I had major problems with my esophagus. I absolutly had to have band out. I didnt have to do supervised diet so Im thinking I had that my records must have showed I really was in danger with the band. My esophagus was dialated for a few years and I kept asking to be checked in 6 months because I was afraid to get my band out. I never thought they would approve me.
  19. I have BCBS Fep and was approved in 4 days for my revison. My bmi was only up to 30. I had gained about 40 pounds from failed band. I had slip and dialated esophagus

Band to Sleeve lose more slowly?

Hi, Im new to this forum. I had band to sleeve revision July 9th at bmi of 30. I dont know how my doc got the insurance approved. I lost 11 pounds in the first 2 weeks and thats it. Im trying not to be discouraged but granted I have just 30 pounds more to lose I wouldnt care if I saw a pound a week loss. Im seeing nothing
