I have to share what happened to me last night. It truly is the best thing ANYONE has said to me in a LONG time! I am so happy, I am still on cloud 9. SO I went to a reunion show for a HS band I loved with much distress. I haven't seen almost all of the people in 15 years. (Class of 95) I didn't go to any of my class reuinions because I was fat and disgusting. I wasn't fat in school at all. I was a model for Ford, so I always thought I had peaked in high school. Well a guy that I had a crush on in high school leaned over to me last night and said "Don't take this the wrong way because I am married but you look better now than you did in high school." I wanted to cry and kiss him. I just smiled and said thank you, while inside I was doing the happy dance. Everyone was telling me how good I looked, I even got a bit of revenge with an old boyfriend. Last night made it all worth it! I love my band! :thumbup:

:tt1: lol....and it is getting better seeing all the old exes on facebook! lol... NO less than 10 have said "Who knew the dorky girl would become a hottie" :tt1: Live it up ladies cuz the men are just eating their hearts out!

My story is like many others. I had spent a life of luxury on the "skinny side" of things until I had my second child in 2 years. My body had become my enemy and my metabolism was cruel. No matter what I did I could not loose weight and keep it off. I was miserable and felt like a stranger in my own skin. After countless failed diets, pills and gimmicks I had given up. And then, one day I took my young daughters to the movies. Not a place you would think you would realize you have to change your life, but it was for me. When I went to sit next to my daughter I couldn't fit into the seat, at all. I was horrified and at that moment it hit me while standing to watch the movie. I watched the rest of that movie sobbing, and knowing I had to find a way out of my fat self. I researched weight loss surgery and was convinced that I need gastric by pass. But then I went to Hurley Bariatric Center in Flint, where Dr. Farhan was insistent that I was too young, 29 at the time for such a drastic surgery. He told me about the Lab Band system and how I could control my weight loss. I was sold and began the pre op process. Now, I am more than half my size. I went from a size 30 a 4X to a 4/6 a SMALL! I no longer feel like a stranger with in myself, I am who I was and wanted to be! I am now even a model again, something I hadn't done since I was a teenager. I recently called Allergen to thank them for changing my life, and I was shocked when I gave them my stats at his response. The man on the other line thanked me, but ensured me that it wasn't just the band, that my hard work had paid off. And that is what makes the difference with the band, your commitment to changing you life. The band can work with you to become who you already knew you were, but it doesn't happen overnight!

lol....I have a few of those. You never have to friend them and you can block so they can't talk to you! :angry_smile: I have several hs boyfriends I did like though! :frown: lol...

I am there with you, mine does the same things. But yet still wants me skinnier. It has become a HUGE problem. I think it is insecurity and fear in mine. He is pushing me so far away.... Why can't men express feelings properly?

Congrats Carrie, I am sure you will be the perfect size by then! Sorry I have been MIA for so long guys, I am back now and even more committed to my 30s....lol...but still not ready to "own" 32!

Nice to see you compliant Plain! Thank you very kindly! lol... :angry_smile: I am going through this again after this weekend so it is funny this thread came back out. I had someone tell me I lost my ass and I needed to eat more, that I looked like I was on crack.....lol....

I have had a slipped band so I know what it was like for me. I had a port replacement and during the procedure they pulled too hard and slipped the band. I could keep NOTHING down, not even Water. I was in a HUGE amount of pain. I was refluxing 24/7. It was bad.....I think you know when you are slipped because of the pain! I can say though that I am still 2.5 years post op and don't wat before 11 am. I can't. It is just the way my band is. Quite fickle really!

I confess I ate this JUST the other day, and I will do it again I swear! :angry_smile: The prime rib, I did not eat! LOL... :frown:
