  1. The need for instant gratification is what got most of us to this place in the first place. It would be nice to have a magic wand, but there aren't any. My band is helping me everyday to limit my portions. Being new, it is also helping retrain my mind and behaviors.
  2. I am so with you!!! Mine is stuck big time. But I've moved down a size, and am feeling better. Still sucks, though.
  3. lol, i'd rather watch them somewhere else. i can drive through our city and see the same sights. we only have a half marathon, though.
  4. Love 'em. We don't stay up to watch, that is why we have the DVR!
  5. Well, some of us do, lol! We have them on all of the time here. It is so opposite! We don't watch the summer games, but love the winter! I do hate waiting so long for the next show, though! I also hate that they are going to blue and black. I like seeing jillian and bob working together. their good cop/bad cop routine is a hoot!
  6. i don't mind the show length. I don't watch a ton of tv, so I enjoy this coupld of hours. I think Melissa went home on purpose, btw. Her speech sounded so rehearsed.
  7. i think that a child needs to be 4 or younger to pre board. There is a risk of problems. Some airlines attendants have stated that you have to be able to fit into your seat, rather than going into the next seat. What can be done is to purchase an extra seat, and if it isnt' needed you can be refunded. I also wouldn't choose the aisle seat. I'd squish into the window seat as far away from the attendants as possible. Take an extender with you, and don't lift the arm between the seat until after the plane is moving. Not meaning to scare you.
  8. Banded on the 28th. I've lost 25 lbs since. I was on vacation for a week and a half, though.
  9. LOL, we are going on 9 snow days, not including the weekend snowed in days, there is another 9 inches due today, and more snow by the weekend. Snow shouldn't be an excuse to go beyond moderation. The OP said that a batch of Cookies wouldn't be helpful for her. She didn't say she never has a cookie. If you had read many of her posts, you'd know she is an advocate of eating. While an occasional treat can be lovely (i had a cookie at small group last pm) too many of those traditions is what got many of us to this point in the first place.
  10. when the band is doing its job, you will be limited portion size. Proteing drinks for me are just sliders. I don't care if I never drink another again. I like real food.
  11. That is where mine is. It was bothersome for a couple of weeks, but it was great for sleeping. Within a day or two I was able to sleep on my side and on my stomach within a few weeks!
  12. I still enjoy eating. Probably more, because I am focussed on it while I am eating, as opposed to grabbing something on the run with my kids. We still cook together, and I still eat. Just smaller portions. I have cut sweets down to a dark hershey kiss in the evening, and miss the Cookies after church, but otherwise, it is ok. The only time of the day I have to watch out for is the witching hours in the afternoon. It is hectic, lunch is wearing off, and it was always a time to grab something. so I plan for it now.
  13. mickey, your tag made me smile. Just got back from visiting the mouse! I use the can, too. I can't eat cheese, so I just pile salsa on top. Cheap and easy.
  14. lol, i fell for one of these in another specialized area. so not worth the cash.
  15. Jem, don't you hate those times? I went 2 weeks, too. Finally showed a change yesterday and today. good luck.
  16. i'd die if i drank a coke, let alone chugged one. and i'm not stuck at all.
  17. i love lose it, and it was free.
  18. Gas pains lasted about a week for me. good luck!
  19. if you are looking into it, check with the hospitals and see if they will accept a smaller amt. My insurance only paid $8000 for the $20000 bill. Most are willing to wheel and deal. That puts it into the same league as going across the border, and means your fills would potentially be through the same doc and local.
  20. I love top chef! And a good handful of other cooking programs.
  21. that is terrific! There ought to be a clothes exchange board here!
  22. I don't know. I don't usually feel hungry. at least not what i think of as stomach hungry. I feel sugar drops every once in a while. i always figured i was a mutant or something. i think that a lot of eating we do is "mindless eating." not thought of on my own, but garnered from a book by the same title. it states that much of the eating folks do is based not on hunger, but on other cues, including sight. anyway, probably not what you were looking for, but it is really an interesting read. i've got my 15 year old reading it right now. none of my children are overweight, and I hope to keep them that way. at least to the degree i can.
