Morons getting on my nerves!
It doesn't sound as though people want anything but the best for you. If they were acting the opposite, there would probably be people not happy, either, calling them unsupportive. I hope you are able to find some peace in this.

Help!
I'm sorry, I should have quoted, we were typing at the same time. My upper left arm has had pain for about the last 4 weeks. When I was first diagnosed with the fibro, 20 years ago, upper arm pain was my presenting problem.

Help!
Wow. I have pain like that. I am chalking it up to fibro currently. I hope you find some answers.

Will you watch the Olympics?
 lol, no kidding. My sweetie loved the winter games, and I grew to love them through his eyes. I, myself, believe that winter should be banned. Not the olympics, mind you, winter.

The curling is one of our favorites! It is like chess on ice!

December Delights 2009
BFG, I watch what I eat. I am not going to lose weight if I don't. I went once to a doc that checked my metabolism, and it was slow. If I don't keep my calories below 900 I don't get anywhere. But, I know that if I do it this time with the help of the band I will be able to maintain portion size and at about 1200 calories avg.

December Delights 2009
Rule number one, don't break any rules! It was my fault. I ate about 3 small bites of chicken, without paying attention. I never feel like I have restriction, because I don't ever push it, I suppose. So, it got stuck because I didn't chew enough, I think. It hurt, and hurt, and then came up. The major hurt went away, but I still am a bit achy in my pouch area. I'm sticking to liquids today, just because I am scared, and I don't want to push it. I was really afraid of this happening, and now I am not so much. It was scarier in my head than it was actually, iykwim.

December Delights 2009
Same here. I am due for my second fill on the 3rd. I was stuck, really stuck for the first time yesterday to the point of getting sick. It scared the crap out of me!

how did you choose?
my doc says that part of the problem was the older band. I gather that it (or at least the one he started working with) was not a complete circle, and the gap was where the band would start to erode into the stomach.

My Husband Is Driving me Nuts!
Lol, yes, I would still eat chicken if my husband couldn't. Too funny. Not a rocket science type question! My husband is diabetic. I still ate a donut in front of him on occasion. Satisfied, chuckle. You want to be babied and control others then that is your right. I've managed to raise children who are smart enough to eat enough, enjoy food and a healthy lifestyle. I'm proud of them. If they want wings or a cookie I'll go buy it for them. Not whine about how I can't or am better off without. I also have an issue with people complaint about family and friends on the Internet. It is not nice. People deserve more respect than that.

My Husband Is Driving me Nuts!
I learned a long time ago that it isn't all about me. I married my best friend in this world. I only want great things for him and it goes both ways. I would never tell him what to eat, and I have never kept junk food in my house. So the child analogy is so not pertinent. People expect others to keep the lb patient at the center of the universe. If it works for you go for it. I know that in our lives my whims and weaknesses shouldn't affect them. Thus is merely my opinion. I would suggest that is is useful in dealing not only with my family, but the world in general. It becomes much less frustrating whenone stops trying to control the actions of others, and blaming others.

My Husband Is Driving me Nuts!
but sometimes we need to change our expectations of them and what is reasonable to expect. I expect my husband to eat food he likes. It is unreasonable to expect others to eat stuff they don't want because we can't have it. What does everyone think their families should eat because of our problem? Nasty shakes? I wouldn't wish them on anyone. Bland food? I like food too much to wish that on anyone, also. The sooner we get past the poor me, I can't have that, the better off we are. No one should feel guilty because they are not fat, and do not need to lose weight, imo. They shouldn't feel guilty for eating the food they enjoy, either. Maybe I just get this more, because of the boys. They have to be fed regularly, and either I cook what they like, they cook what they like, or pick up something they like, and you can pretty much guarantee that I like it too. To say to them, I've screwed up, so you pay the price is selfish, imo.

My Husband Is Driving me Nuts!
I have a husband and 3 teen sons in this home. Somehow, I managed to survive them eating during the pre op diet as well as the post op diet. They shouldn't be penalized for my choice. It was certainly possible for me to walk away, and I did on a few occasions. I don't see them as sabotaging me, or not supporting me by eating food.

My Husband Is Driving me Nuts!
I guess that I don't get what the guy is supposed to do. Not eat? Not eat anything that tastes good? It was chicken, not cookies. He wasn't expecting his wife/partner to cook them, he was just having a meal. I do get that it doesn't help to have a store of simple carbs around. That makes sense. No one needs those to survive.

My Husband Is Driving me Nuts!
i don't think eating food is "not supporting" someone. If DH is having something I feel I don't want, I am perfectly capable of walking away for a bit, going on a walk, etc. It isn't his eating that is a problem. Just my opinion.

Protein - help skin adjust?
People say that it works. I've never seen any objective research on the subject.
-
I don't understand!!!
Maybe. That part does suck sometimes. I know that in general, men seem to have an easier time losing weight than women, so maybe he is borrowing from that statistic.
-
I don't understand!!!
All evidence says that this is NOT the norm, however. It is like a lottery ticket. Some people get lucky. If you assume you are going to be one of those people, chances are you will be wrong.

I don't understand!!!
lol, I agree!
