  1. Just had my sleep study last night...... All I can say is ugh! I could not sleep to save my life. I was so uncomfortable with all of the wires. I am so worried because I know I must've slept a little but idk if it was enough for them to get results for me.

I am super bummed because this is my last requirement from my surgeon to get my surgery date ( I have already been approved by insurance) so a lot depended on this sleep study. Now I feel like I may have to do it again. :(

Anyone have any tips on how to get through the night with all those wires on u??? I hope I don't have to do it again. :(

  2. Paola,

I think this is awesome! I was reading your post and for some reason I started thinking about the "sisterhood of the traveling pants". I don't know if you have ever heard of that but I believe it was a book and then became a movie about friends who have a pair of jeans and they pass them to each other and even tho they all look different the jeans have a "mystery powers" because they fit all of them. lol There is much more story to it than just that BUT It just reminded me cause of how you said you and your grandmother kept passing them back and forth and then how they fit now but they didn't fit back in 2008! lol

Anyways enough rambling lol I loved your post! Thats just a great example of why we shouldn't worry so much about the number on the scale as much as losing the inches!! Great post!

P.S. You have done amazing at all of your weightloss!! Keep it up! I can't wait to start my journey soon :)

  3. Hi Realwmn, Yes I'm having my surgery at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood sometime in March hopefully. I have already been approved just finishing up some preop testing. Hope everything goes well for you in Mexico. I have heard so many wonderful things about having it done there. Best wishes! :)

P.S. Make sure you join our jersey group in the groups section :D

  4. Welcome Jen! I'm also from NJ. Hope everything can be resolved soon for you. I'm sure you will find a lot of info and support on here! I know I have.

Just wondering if you don't mind saying which hospital/doctor you had you surgery with. I'm having my surgery sometime this March. Thanks :)

  5. Hi everyone! Just wanted to update my topic. I was APPROVED with my 6 months of Weight Watchers proof. They accepted that as my 6 month supervised diet. So to anyone out there wondering if they should give it a shot ( I'm sure it depends on your insurance)....I say go for it! Worst they can say is no and then you do your 6 months!

Just in case anyone is wondering I have United Healtcare Choice Plus.

  6. Hi everyone! I am fairly new to this forum and finally decided to make a post! I was originally planning on having lapband surgery and have now decided that I am going to go through with the sleeve instead. I have learned so much through this forum and really appreciate how much information everyone gives!!

Anyways, to my topic... So I recently was informed that I was allowed to use either Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig as proof of completing a 6 month supervised diet as long as it was within the last 2 years.

I did have my stamps from Weight watchers for April of 2010 through September 2010 which thank god came out to exactly 6 months. The question I had is one of my forms also states that you need 2 physician visits during the time you were on weight watchers. I don't have that. BUT I have will have 2 current physicians visits in March since I had begun my 6 month supervised diet.

Just wondering what your thoughts are about how this will affect my insurance decision. I know that technically I am not going to be providing them with the two visits during the weight watchers time period like they are asking but just wondering if anyone has gone through a similar situation and been approved.

I will be providing all of their requirements which are: 6 month physician supervisied diet, psych eval, over 40 bmi without comorbidities. I have UHC Choice Plus

It is confusing because I have 3 different sheets of paper listing the requirements and only one of them mentions the 2 visits during the 6 months. hmmm.... Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or any advice is welcome!!!

    Thanks!

  7. Update!!! So I went yesterday to my WW Location and the girl helping me was SUPER nice BUT she said that it looks like I had joined in April 2010 for about 8 months BUT I stopped and then rejoined in June 2011 and so they reset all of the weight history in her system. So the only weights she could give me were for 5 weeks in a row that I went in June of 2011. She said that her system would not allow her to see the past weight history. sad.png

However, she asked me if I used E-tools (Which I did) and so she told me to call the E-tools Help Desk because they may be able to retrieve a better history for me. So I will be calling them in a few to see if I have any luck.

@lwincoA - I have United Healthcare Choice Plus through Best Buy

  8. Thank you Ladies! I really appreciate your help!! I am going today as soon as I get out of work to the location where I went for WW meetings and I will definitely take your advice bayougirl about the sweet thing! lol Thanks!! I will update you all as soon as I can smile.png

p.s. - kristen how exciting!! Congratulations! From what I read I'm sure you are not LOVING the pre-op shakes but Feb 15th will be here before you know it!

  9. Kristen1969 just had another question for you. Did you lose a significant amount of weight in the time you were doing weight watchers?? I actually remember doing pretty well. I think i lost about 50 pounds, but of course i've gained it all back + more. Just wondering if you think it would look bad to the insurance company for me to have lost that amount of weight???

  10. Thanks Bayougirl! I know I know....I promise I will be better with my wellness visits. And you are right...most of the time they are free smile5.gif

Ok so I found out officially that I do have to do the 6 months; however, they will substitute it with weight watchers which I have done. Now to find my old paperwork from 2010 and 2011. They said it could be up to 2 years ago but it has to be 6 consecutive months.

So I know I saw my little Weight Watchers book not too long ago but now of course I can't seem to find it. So I guess we will see what I can dig up. I called the 1-800 number but they said all they can send me is the billing history which doesn't have the weight history on it. I doubt that will be any good.....

Wish me Luck!!! keeping my fingers crossed! It would be so amazing to not have to do the 6 months!!!!!!!!

  11. Had a question about Weight Watchers. I was just notified by my insurance that I can substitute my 6 month Physician supervised diet with either Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, etc. (minimum 6 consecutive months within the past 2 years) However, I was wondering if anyone has found a way to retrieve this kind of information from weight watchers.

I called the 1-800 number, but all they were able to supply me with was the billing information on how many months I paid. (Which I know will not be sufficient since I am positive they will want to see my weight at that time.)

I know I just saw my little "Weight Watchers Weight Tracker book" somewhere in my house not too long ago and am now frantically looking for it lol but of course I can't find it now that I'm looking for it. So was just wondering if anyone has had any luck getting that information from anywhere else? Should I go to the location where I used to get weighed and see if they have a history in their computer?? Just wondering if anyone else has had any success with that.

    Thanks! 001_smile.gif
