Wow, i'm so impressed with everyone who's up and walking after surgery. I had my surgery on monday and I am still in so much pain. I'm just walking around the house for now. My back Injuries from a previous accident is making this a lot harder I guess. Good luck to everyone banded this week! Stay strong.

I'm starting my pre-op diet today, and also getting pre surgical testing in a few hours. I'm so nervous, but I know everything is worth it in the end.

I'm being banded on April 5th as well! I'm so excited and not too nervous yet.

Some people are just ignorant and stubborn. He's obviously not very educated in weight loss, most people who diet and exercise to lose weight gain it back within the next two years. I had a couple of friends that did not understand why I would be willing to go through surgery too. I just told them that the Lap-band® is a tool to weightloss, it's not a solution, we still have to work to lose weight. If he's a good friend you should explain everything to him and hopefully he'll understand better. good luck :]

I'm planning on getting the surgery on a weekend and go back to school on monday, I go to school an hour and a half away from home. My surgeon has me on liquid for a week after, than mushy the next two weeks I believe. After that I'm not too concerned about eating at school. They only serve organic, and non fried foods, which is convenient.
Let me know how everything goes, and good luck!

I'm getting banded next month and I was just wondering if anyone out there had to handle the banding process while in college? Im really worried about being able to make my own food or find appropriate foods during the first 2 weeks after my surgery (mushy foods, soft foods, etc.). Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do or what you did?
Thanks!

12 pounds is amazing, but honestly 3 or 4 a month is amazing as well. Keep working and pushing towards your goal, now that you have a new, hopefully more respectful doctor you'll be on the track to losing. Congratulations and don't give up.
