  1. Great Idea Sadiegokate, Thanks for the info. I love this fluffy stuff.
  2. Hi all, banded on 11/09/09 and I am ready for mushies. Everything is going great. My incision sites are so small and healing nicely. I am trying not to be a scale whore, but I really am not seeing alot of results. I don't think I am getting enough calories. I have maybe 200-300 a day. Hoping it will be better once I can have mushies. Never thought I would say I miss some low fat cottage cheese. LOL :bored: Still looking on the positive side and I know in my heart this time it will work. 4x4 Moma
  3. Thanks for checking on me. Post-op from my band and going smooth. I made it to full liquids. YEAH!

I am having some issues with my thyroids. The doc had me get an ultra sound done and he found two large mass. So last Friday I had to go have the biopsied. That was ALOT of pain. Still weighting on the result. How are you? What is it like at the two month mark? Can't wait to hear from you. :)

  4. Thanks for the encouraging words and prayers. I am so proud of you for handling this pregnancy like a pro. Really no weight gain. That is wonderful. I like your name for a boy. Piper and Peyton sound good together. I will send you my e-mail on a private message. Thanks for sending me your diets. You are a wonderful friend. Hugs and Kisses. :)Amanda

  5. What a great story. Honestly, when I first saw your pics I thought you were playing a joke. You look wonderful. Thank you for posting and inspiring those of us new at this process. I am one week post-op and already worried about how I will handle this when the NEW wears off. Reading stories like your encourages me to only think positive. Please keep posting any tips or stories you have.

  6. This may not sound very good, but it taste wonderful. Here is a southbeach diet dessert that would be mushie. one tub of SF/FF coolwhip, one sm. pack of orange SF Jello and a 16oz container of lowfat small curd cottage cheese. Just mix it all together and yummers. After mushie stage you can add some manderian oranges to add a texture. Hope this helps. :w00t: 4x4 Moma
  7. Hey Girlie,

I just read your blog. I really like it. I am still trying to get me one started. Not really computer savy LOL. I seen you are from Ga. and wanted to shout to my neighbor. Best of luck and keep in touch. :) 4x4 Moma

  8. I just had the lap band with Dr.Duncan on 11/09/09 and my experience was amazing. Dr. Duncan is so "down-to-earth". and willing to take time to answer all of my questions. I never had a problem with his office staff, they were all very helpful. I had my surgery at the Atlanta Ascetics Center, and that was a real treat. It was so much more "one on one" than I would have received in any hospital. I walked into the OR and when Dr. Duncan asked how I was I told him " I am worried about not being worried". I can honestly say that I never once got worried about having my lap band. His team made me feel comfortable with their confidence. I will admit that I did have a long wait in his office. However, I am willing to wait for a doctor that will take his time with me. Because Dr. Duncan did take his time with me, and really looked at me, he was able to notice something wrong with my thyroid while I was talking. He ordered an ultrasound and found 2 large mass. I am currently waiting on the results of the biopsy now. I love Dr. Duncan and his staff and would recommend them to anyone. I am sorry it someone had a bad experience with them, They are really good.
  9. I will not know anything back from them for a few more day.

My tummy is fine from the band, but my neck hurts soooo bad. I would not wish that on my worst enemy.

Well sorry to be complaining so much. Guess my good news is my band is great. I got to move to full liquids today. What was your post-op diet?

How are you and your little ones? Hope all is well. <3 ya, Amanda

  10. Hey Girlfriend,

I am in the club now. Everything went great getting my band. Dr. Duncan and his team are absolutely the best.

However, on my initial visit with Dr. Duncan he kept looking at my throat when I was talking. Before I left his office he felt of my neck and asked my to go get an ultra sound of my thyroids done. I actually did this on the Wednesday before my surgery on Monday. Anyway, after my surgery he said he wanted me to go and have a FNA ultrasound done because he found 2 large mass on my thyroids. Lucky me!! This was the worst thing I have every been through. They put me on a table with my head tilted back as far as it would go and stuck 9 needles in my neck. 2 of the needles was lidacaine, but that only numbed the skin area. The doctor (it was not Dr. Duncan) sucked out some of the cells in the needles and sent them down to pathology for testing.

Finally in the BANDED CLUB!!! :)

yeah! Congrats to you. Get plenty of rest.
  12. I am very excited. I am doing well on the pre-op diet so far, not so sure about the last two days of liquid only. But I aint scared. I do have a question, a lady at the doctors office was telling me about taking the gas-x strip before her surgery, have you ever heard of that? My other question is what Protein shake do/did you use? Thanks in Advace. Have you told the new big sister yet? That is a fun time with the second baby. My son prayed for about a year everynight for his little brother, so when I was far enough along to tell him he was too excited. I am so happy for you. :P Amanda -- 6 days to a new life.

  13. 6 days to go! I am so excited. I went today for pre-op, all of that went great. Tomorrow I will go for my EDG, I will be glad to get that over with. Then I will be smooth sailing. How about you? Have you done pre-op or the EDG yet, or do you have to? We are a 4x4 family. My husband, myself, and my 10 year old all have 4 wheelers. My 4 year old has a 50, but he prefers to just drive me around on mine 400. And then we also have a 1980 CJ7. So needless to say our idea of fun is lost in the deep woods somewhere. Guess that is why we want to move to Tenn. LOL. Well, guess I need to go eat some protein. Yummers. :)

  15. Hey,

I seen we are going to be banded on the same day. I think a blog will be a great idea and I will do my best to get mine started soon. I am with you about the pre-op diet, however I started mine a week early and I have already lost 6lbs. That is motivation. Lets keep in touch. :) Amanda

You look great. Such an inspiration. Keep up the great work.
  17. Lucky You! I sure hope I am early morning. I would love to be home before my boys get out of school. I'm not stressing yet. The only part I am worried about is the 2 weeks of liquid afterward. I know I will still have to cook for my family. I just keep reminding myself that I can do this. I CAN DO THIS! Try not to stress to much! It won't be long and we will be sharing success stories. Keep in touch :cursing: Amanda :cursing:
  18. I won't know my time until I go for pre-op on 11/03/09. What time is yours? I am glad to find someone having it on the same day :wink2:
