My Dr said I was done a week after my drains came out. I did go buy some Under Armour athletic compression shirts and shorts to wear afterwards. I think I need it to feel more comfortable -

I took the pain pump out about 6 or 7 days post op. My Dr said i could do it. The tubes are very thin and not stitched in, just taped on. -

I just got back from my 2nd post op appointment and got my drains out. What a relief. It didn't hurt at all, but felt very strange. I got a little twinge up near my ribs. Its hard to believe the tubes went from my thighs up to near my ribs. The Dr said one mor eweek in the binder. Normally she wants 3 weeks, which would be Monday, but she wants me to wear it one week post drains to makes sure everything comes together and no pockets form to collect fluid. I can handle one more week -

Sending good thoughts your way  I saw on the other thread that you woke up early and couldn't sleep. I know the nerves are kicking in at this point. You talked about freaking out your in laws. Thats great. I hope you get the same look on your face that my wife says I did when I first looked down and saw my results. She said it was priceless. Wishing you a quick and illness free week  -

I am actually doing pretty good now. Its funny, they send a physical theripist in to see me the morning after surgery to check out my movement and to get me up to walk. They said I did great "for a guy". They said men usually have a much harder time post op. I don't know why, but I guess its true. As to whether I would do it all over again. Not to scare anyone thinking of doing it, the 2nd and 3rd day I have to admitt that I sat in bed wondering what the hell I had done to myself and wished I could have a do over. But if you ask me now, I have to say I would do it again in a heartbeat. I love the results and the pain is temporary. -

Not being nosey You might be able to, since we all heal at different rates. I would not have been able to do it. I went home on day 4 due to my extended hospital stay, but getting in the car for the ride home and the ride itself was very difficult pain wise. My Dr had me using a walker the first week and I needed it. I am 2 weeks today and just now standing straight, though I could walk pretty good mostly straight at about the 8th or 9th day. Glad your doing so well Nina, my PS twin , Things are going well here. I got released to drive today, so I went out and made a short trip to Wal-Mart and the drug store. Since they don't make Spanx and the like for men, I went and got some Under Armour shirts and shorts. They say compression on them so I think they will work fine. -

I don't know. I went out the last two days and am pretty sore this morning. I don't know if its because I went out or thee fact that I am regaining some feeling in my stomoach area and I can just feel it now. -

Here are my 11 day post op pics. I am still very swollen and have some additional bruising. It is strange not having to decide to wear things under or over my "flap" -

Next step in finding the real me

Well its done. I am home and in recovery mode. I updated on the Feb PS thread, but not here. lol So I had surgery on Monday. All went well. I had a little over 6 pounds cut off. I developed a slight fever and low blood pressure so they held me in the hospital 2 extra nights for observation. So I came home on Thursday instead of Tuesday. The pain isnt too bad except for a cough I developed. Today is day 6 post op and I can almost stand straight, still have to hunch some. You can see that in the pics I am posting. Will try to update with pics along the way. The first 2 pics are one day post op and the others are today (6 days post op) I am still very swollen.
