May 2006 Band Crew ~ July Chat

Just wanted to touch base on a NSV I had this weekend. I am a huge sports fan. One of the things my wife and i love to do is go to Dallas Stars hockey games. I have a jersey that I haven't been able to wear in several years. For kicks, I tried it on this weekend to see if it fit and it fits very nicely!. I actually teared up when I showed my wife because I feel like I am getting my life back. It was an awesome moment! On another note, I guess the gym is agreeing with me, I lost another 6 pounds this week. That in itself is motivation to keep going. Hope everyone has a great week.

Kim, I started this week at my company's fitness center. I dread it each morning, but feel great afterwards. 30 minutes on the treadmill and some upper body toning. So far so good. I have a co-worker that is going at the same time. Its good to have someone to hold me accountable especially since we go in before work and have to get up extra early.

Sounds like everyone is doing well. I had my first fill and can't tell a big difference. Everyone I talk to though says its the secord or third fill that restriction really starts to happen. I get hungry a lot, but I have been doing well. Keep up the good work everyone!

    Anyone in the DFW area?

Live in Wylie. Good to see other Dr. Cribbens' patients here. Had a great experience with him and his office.
  10. I had a great experience. I have UHC and I had surgery 5 weeks to the day I had my first consultation. That seems to be the exception rather than the rule based on comments about UHC in this and other threads. I previously had Aetna and it was a nightmare, I gave up on them quickly.
  11. I am 6 weeks post op. I think I have lost 40 to 45 pounds. I will find out when I go to the doctor on Friday (June 23rd). I was banded on May 9th at 331 lbs. If I can beleive my home scales, I am now about 285.

    EMPLOYER/UHC Excludes LB!!!

Sorry to hear your going throught this. I have UHC and had my surgury 5 weeks to the day aftet I had my consultation! I have never been through an easier process. In fact, when I went back for my consult, the doctors coordinator said " Oh, you with XXXXX company and UHC, you should get approved easily. I wonder how much of this is your companies restrictions. Good luck. I had the problem your going through a couple of years ago when our company had Aetna and gave up all together. Don't give up, keep trying.
