    question :D

Yes, I work at EMC too, I worked for a long time at Countrywide, left in August and just started at EMC.

    question :D

    Where do you work?

    question :D

Thanks for the compliment and encouragement. Somehow I have will power. Lord knows where it came from. I think the band help my head as much as my stomach. I think my problem is that I have lost so fast, that the fills don't catch up to my shrinking stomach. I think the doctors are hesitant to fill too much because I am still loosing weight. They questioned me the last 2 fills becuase they were worried I would be too tight. I think I have about 6cc in the VG band. Don't get me wrong, I don't go too hungry, but I don't get that full feeling. I have just learned to eat until I am no longer hungry instead of eating until fullness.

    tummy tuck

I am not a young lady, but I can say that I know my skin will not shrink on its own. I do have stretch marks from a lifetime of yo-yo dieting. Wish it weren't so, but I can see PS in my future at least for my stomach. I can live with the rest of it. 36 years of body abuse (being fat) is too much to overcome for me.

    question :D

I agree with Ms. Kitty As long as your able to eat the right kinds of foods and get enough protein and calories, sounds like you hit your sweet spot - a place I am still looking for.

This Is Rants And Raves Forum

I agree with your post. The only problem is that when you log into the front page it shows the threads, but doesn't show what forum they are in. I made the mistake of clicking on one last month based on the title of the thread and was offended and spoke up when I shouldn't have (knowing now it was in this forum). I like having this forum, I just had to learn the hard way to be more careful!

    Any Regrets

Very good post. I agree, I would be very disappointed if it had not worked for me. The thing the needs to be focused on is how many positive posts there are compared to the negative ones. I think that speaks volumes. Obviously, any WLS is not 100% effective. I found the right one for me.

    Support in D/FW Area...

Welcome! I used Dr. Cribbens. He is located next to Presby-Plano (North Tollway and Park (I beleive)) I am not sure if he does BCBS or not. He is in practice with Dr. Hamm. I have a lot of friends and co-workers who have used both and get good reviews. Their website is: www.yournewhealth.net Good luck in your journey.

    Dumping Syndrome

Dumping Syndrome only happens to RNY patients. Its not an issue with the lapband. I am not sure exactly what causes it with the RNY patients. I think it has something to do with the sugar hitting the re-routed intestines, but I could be wrong.

    Any Regrets

    Cindy - Amen. Great post!
  12. Thank you for being honest and not taking that the wrong way. It just made me think how I would react if I was in his shoes. I know it is tough on you too. I am sure you love your husband too or your wouldn't be so conflicted and trying to work things out. Good luck to you and your husband, sincerly.

Thanks for a great thread.
  14. Sorry you are going through this. I don't mean to come across wrong, but all you mention is the pain you are in because you are torn with your feelings, but what about the pain your husband is in. How has he dealt with everything? Just curios.

    United Health Care Question

I had UHC PPO. I paid $200 hospital co-pay, $250 for the physicians assistant, and $250 to the sleep study. Besides the $15 co-pays per visit, that was it. And the approval process was seamless. I had my surgery 5 weeks to the day after my innitial consultation. I never talked to the insurance company, my doctors office did all the work. Easiest thing I have done in a long time! I just changed jobs and was pleased to find out I will still have UHC. I am sure it will be a little different based on the terms and exclusion from my company, but I know the UHC has been great.

    Eating in a Restaurant

I feel the same way. Even at buffets I am ok with paying full price. I mean they didn't charge me double when I was huge and ate trice as much as most so I feel this is karma to pay for eating so little. Just being able to go out and enjoy myself, not to mention that I can fit in booths now and don't have to have an anxiety attack worrying about the seating arrangent. Small sacrifice to me.
  18. The problem is that most people who have met goal don't come on here as aften as they used to, so you might not get the responses you are looking for. There are a few like Telly who still hang around to help us out and give us support. I think I will be able to make a healthy BMI. I am only 6 1/2 months out and have lost 122 pounds. I have no doubts that the band will get me where I need to be.
  19. I tried them and thought they were good. Low Carb and fat and high in protein. I think they make good snacks! I agree that the chocolate is the best. I wouldn't mistake it for regular Jello Brand pudding, but a nice alternative to drinking a protein shake.

What do you say when you get THAT question??

Can't offer any advice as I have always been very open to everyone. But it sounds like there are some good suggestions. I know everyone is different and has person reasons for telling or not. Good luck

    May Bandsters~November Chat!

Drewslou - glad your doing well! I know you are going to thrive now that you have everything fixed with your port. Good restiction makes a world of difference. Is your soup the Campbells Soup at Hand kind? I almost bought some the other day because it sounded good.
  25. I have met my doctors goal, but not my personal goal. I started at 331 and my doctor set my goal at 126 based on average weight loss with the band. I met his goal in about 5 1/2 months. I had originally set my person goal for 190, but I accomplished loss so rapidly that I lowered my goal to 170. I am at 209 right now, so I think 170 is very reasonable. Also, I bet I would loose at least 20 pounds from a lower body lift. I have a lost of loose skin in my adbdomin and thigh area. I would say that it has been very successful for me. Very satisfied with the results.
