  1. I guess I shouldn't assume that most people had to have them. I thought since my doctor required it that most people were in the same boat. Anyway, my doctor has everyone undergoing bariatric surgery give themselves lovenox injections twice a day for 2 weeks to prevent blood clotting. Yes, I still had to walk everyday, but this was just a precautionary method. Anyway, glad it's over now.

My doctor is the same way. I had to get the shots also after surgery.

  2. Mom of Trips-

I had no problem with pain after surgery. I was up right away walking around after surgery, never took the pain meds, and lifted my daughter into the car seat upon leaving the hospital. With that being said, I was also up walking around about 4 hours after my c-section and wasn't bothered by the pain.

Good luck to you! I am sure you will do great!!

  3. I was banded on 3/27 and I had my first fill on Monday (5/11) I don't feel as if I have much restriction, but from what I have read, that is to be expected. Anyway, my doctor told me when I come back for my 2nd fill at the end of June, he will be doing it under the x-ray so he can see exactly what he is doing and not "guessing" at how much to put in. He told me that this is the new way of doing fills.

Has anyone experienced this x-ray technique before? Does it really work better than the current "guessing" method?

  4. I have twin 2 year old daughters that were in the process of potty training (tons of lifting for potty training) right before I had surgery. I lifted them into the car seats upon leaving the hospital from surgery. I lifted them throughout the day when I was home as well. I told my doctor my situation and he just told me to be careful. Not saying this is the right thing to do, but it is what I did. HTH
