Need goals
Is there a trainer at your gym you can talk with? Maybe you could take a fitness test with them and they could help you establish a routine to help you meet some goal with weights, flexibility, pull-ups, those crunches where you swing your legs up, etc. and then you can re-test in about 3 months. I totally understand the need for a goal. Good luck!

2 weeks out
I was told 4 weeks before the pool and/or baths. Good luck to you, this time really will go by fast and you'll be working up a sweat before you know it! Can you speed up your walks? I remember I started working up a good sweat when walking early out. I added more miles and sped things up.

9 months out (almost)
Well, it's been a while since I've checked in with everyone and in 2 days it will be my 9 month anniversary from surgery. The last couple of months have been very difficult for me in terms of anxiety/depression, but for the most part things are under control now and I am still so very happy that I had the opportunity to have this wonderful procedure. I really like this place a lot and am so grateful for all of the kind and knowledgeable people here. For all the pre-op and initial post-op people I am going to list my stats below because although I know we are are different and will have different journeys, it was so motivating to read about other's journeys. I'll also update my album, because I still enjoy looking at other's pictures. Weight- Consultation (6/09): 238 lbs. Surgery Day (8/09): 222 lbs. One Month: 201 lbs. Two Months: 186 lbs. Three Months: 175 lbs. Four Months: 162 lbs. Five Months: 153 lbs. Six Months: 149 lbs. Seven Months: 143 lbs. Eight Months: 138 lbs. Currently (5/10): 138-140 pounds Measurements- Waist: 43" to 29 " Hips: 51" to 36" Bust: 45.5" to 34.5" Clothing- (clothing sizes are such a range; I just bought one large dress and a size 2 skirt...it just depends on the brand and cut) Pants: 22/24 to 4/6 Tops: 22 (2XL) to 6 (small/med/lg) Dresses/Skirts: 2XL to 4/6 (small/med/lg) Bra: 40/42 DD to 34 C

Date Change and Vacation
The day will be here before you know it. I agree that you should really just try to follow your pre-op diet in the weeks leading up to it, if you have one. I think it really helped me that I had limited my carbs so much before surgery, although I did have a couple of "last suppers."

4 Month Update (Part B) and yes, a VACA!!
That sounds wonderful...I'm so jealous:-) Congratulations on your weight loss this month as well!

No vacation for me:-(
I've been feeling under the weather off and on for over a month now. I thought the most recent bout was simply allergies. I was able to get back into my doctor yesterday afternoon and he gave me a couple of prescriptions, but my husband and I had to cancel our trip (to get a full refund and/or credit) by yesterday. We went ahead and cancelled. I have these 5-15 minute coughing attacks and we were afraid to fly if those were not under control (I hate to be on an airplane when someone is obviously so sick). This morning I already feel a little better, so I'm kind of bummed that we cancelled, but I know that traveling, and even beach lounging, isn't so fun when sick. Oh well, I am now planning a major shopping excursion next week to make up for it. It still won't be the beach, but it's something I guess.

Maintenance
I'm so sorry Tiff. I am now down to 139 lbs and really want to put back on at least 5 pounds. I'm doing pretty much what you're doing, but I even had a Chike protein shake before bed last night (they are pretty high calorie) and added tons of stuff to it calorie-wise...I snack on nuts at least once/twice a day and use full fat dressing on my salads. I just don't know:-( My husband told me last night that I probably could put on a few pounds (he has NEVER made a comment like this, he's always the one I run to for reassurance when someone else comments on "getting too skinny"). Well, what the heck do you think I'm trying to do. I know it's frustrating, but good luck to you!
-
Want to track your progress? This is awesome
Thank you for sharing this Tiff! My ideal weight was 126, which I have no plans to get to, but the average in my age/height range was 153, which I've already surpassed:-)

Worried stomach is to BIG
Tabitha, I'm so sorry you are going through this. I never lost my hunger completely, but I definitely lost my ravenous cravings, which has helped me keep things in check. How long did it take you to eat the entire sandwich? Around two months out I could eat the insides of like half a sandwich, but if I was eating super slowly, I could probably have gotten the whole thing down within an hour. Good luck with getting everything figured out. In the meanwhile, keep venting.

Finally some Good News!
That is great news! I wish you the best of health on the rest of your weight loss journey.

My thoughts on pregnancy.
I'm so happy he is on board for trying!!! My principal makes comments all the time about how we need to alternate our pregnancies (so we can keep the good subs busy all of the time)...if only they were that easy to plan.
