It actually really irritates me. I don't assume every single righty loved Bush or even voted for him. Ok you don't like Obama, we get that but don't you have something more substantial than hitler and messiah, like a specific policy or executive order you did not like? Not just "he is a socialist". I doubt half the people who say that even know what the F it means.

As I stated above x-smoker here. I honestly feel so much better quit than I ever did smoking. The cravings get better over time I promise! You can go without cigs despite what they make your brain say to you. Also smoking makes your recovery much harder and increases your risks for stomach complications. They showed a picture at a class I went to today of some guy who has a drain in his stomach because he got ulcers after WLS and it ate through his stomach and out his skin. Ugh.

Nicotine has a 2 week half life. If you last ingested it in the begining of April(by gum, patch, smoke, whatever) it is long gone by now. I have to have a nicotine test. Just to be safe I am holding my breath when I have to walk through smoke. I don't want someone elses addiction ruining my surgery plans. Congrats on quiting. 8 month quiter here.

As other said it depends on the surgeon. I had a barium swallow upper gi series thing today. The stuff you had to drink tasted nasty but it is all good. I want this bad so I don't care if I have to drink dog crap to get it. I didn't have to have the camera down my throat part.

I could not tell if you wanted titanium staples or were worried about having them. My husband has had titanium plates in his back since 2000 with no problems. He doesn't even set off metal detectors.

I have not had surgery yet but told my coworkers. With all the appointments I had it would have been impossible to hide something was going on. So far all are fine. They have given their opinion and that is fine because they know I am open to opinions. I think it is going to be hard to hide something has changed with you. You have nothing to be ashamed of. You are being proactive with your health.

Ahh it is 3:30 am and I am awake. As usual. I have been having insomnia every single damn night since February. I talked my doctor. Tests were run. No problems. Talked to my physciatrist (sp?) he gave me Ambien. I sleep through the night if I take it but...... He won't give me much more so I cut back to taking it once per week so I can get sleep just one night a week. The rest of the nights I wake up at 1 am, 3 am, and 5 am. I will be awake for an hour and fall back asleep but my sleep is not real per say. I feel like I am sleeping and half awake. I can hear the birds outside, husband turning over, etc yet I am sleeping. Strange. I go to bed at 9 or 10 so you can see I don't get much sleep. Also the side effects of long term Ambien use suck. I pretty much lost my short term memory until I cut back on it and now my memory is coming back. I would go to my car and forget where I was driving to or call my husband and could not remember why. I forgot my sister's name! I have covered all clocks in the room and bought black out shades. My room is pitch black, I tried a night light too but that made it worse I think. My husband is a quiet sleeper so that is not the problem. My mattres is only two years old and top of the line so that is not the problem. Temperature? Nope it is perfect. I have practiced mediation and breathing techniques. Neither work. I have tried getting up and doing stuff until I am tired again. All that did is make me go to work after being up since 3 am. I tried hot baths before bed. I tried excersizing, not excersizing, t.v. watching, no t.v. watching, eating, no eating, caffine, no caffine at all (none through the day either), camomille tea, what have I not tried? Any one else go through this? Did it go away? I did not think about surgery until April so it is not about that.

Bristol has been embraced as the poster child for choosing life. She has been protected and praised. Jamie Spears was treated as the poster child for all that is wrong with our country. Wow it is amazing how Obama has been in office 3.5 months and he has already ruined the country. I think you have it correct however as a point of fact: Palin stated she "never" considered abortion in an interview during the campaign (making sure she took a stand against women's rights). She stated she "considered" it while speaking at some anti-choice dinner in April I think. It was this year she said she "considered". What a difference a few months makes on if you considered aborting your child!

Written by a Canadian no less. Somehow I feel he is not qualified to say if Obama loves or hates his country. After all everyone who hates their country runs for President because it is so easy to attain and a breeze to be. I remember when I complained about the Iraq war being called UnAmerican and that I hated my country. For awhile after 9/11 saying anything bad about the country made you a traitor according to the right. Now they compare Obama to Hitler (which shows their lack of history knowledge) and it is all good.

I had surgery for something else last September. I decided that I would quit smoking while in the hospital after surgery. I had my last cig the night before surgery. I found it easier to quit because I was so medicated for days after surgery I my cravings were minimal. When I left the hospital I wanted one but I was determined to quit. Everyone on this board can quit. I promise. It is hard but you have taken on something much harder. After the first week things got better. I still dream sometimes about cigs but my cravings are down to once a week and they are fleeting at best. It will get better. If you quit don't take how hard the first few days, weeks, and month is as the way it will always be.
