I WAS 250 on Friday, but I gained weight over the weekend. Darn it! So I am keeping my weight at 251.

Bunny Bandsters - April '09, MASTER THREAD #1

QUESTION FOR ANYONE WHO CAN HELP! Is there an easy way to get to this message board with out going through the entire menu? Yes, I am looking for a short cut! Anyone know how to make it a easy click away?

Bunny Bandsters - April '09, MASTER THREAD #1

Jerseygirl - I am beaming! I will confess it is a bit snugg. May have to use lotion to take it off tonight. Still I'll take it! I don't care! Make sure you post when you can wear your mamma's ring! I gained 1.5 lbs back over the holiday weekend, but I ate anything I wanted and considered it vacation. Didn't feel great to see the number go up, but I enjoyed myself so it was all good! How was you Labor Day?

    Friday Weigh Ins

I know that you won't be to far behind me. It is great to see even the slightest change in the scale. For tooo long the scale was climbing in numbers. Seems that trend has been arrested! Yay for us!

I am singing the happy song this morning. The scale said 250! Hit another 10 lbs goal. Just a smiggin more and I will be at 30 lbs lost! Feels great to see the scale actually move!

    Restriction....finally?!?!

When I read your post I felt empathy for you. I am a slow looser. My total weight lost thus far is 27 lbs. That includes the 15 lbs I lost during the pre-op diet. So, after being banded I have lost 12 lbs. The disappointment is very real. I thought my expectations were realistic, so when the scale was not moving a harsh reality set in. I have had 3 fills. With this last fill, I can say I have a decent level of restriction. I would not go as far to say it is my "sweet spot" but at least I know the band is there. Yay for the tool! I need it for help and support so I can be a healthier me! If you are anything like myself, I build momentum from success. The more I loose, the more I want to do good to loose. When I am not seeing any results, well I have a different approach. Not saying this is the right attitude, but lets face it, it's the truth. So I get what you are saying and feel your skeptisism. I have plenty of NSV that are keeping me smiling and helping me to have a positive outlook. I have mini goals, I focus on 10 lbs at a time. Since I am 252 I am nearing 2 of my mini goals. First being out of the 250's, second hitting the 30lbs mark. Do yourself a favor, and don't give up before you actually hit a good level of restiction. Keep going for fills, get them under floro if at all posible. Talk to the Dr about how you are feeling. Focus on Proteins first. Get your H20 in and set a few goals. Remember why you had the surgery. You can do this!!! I tried on my wedding ring again this morning. I am getting closer to being able to wear it again. I haven't worn it since I was preggers with my son, who is 21 months old. That is a bigger goal. I am able to wear my first engagment ring, so that is another victory! We are in this together and you are not alone. It's hard at times to see the awesome success of others when we are not sharing the same success. It will come! Hang in there!

    Carbination....

I am so glad each of you responded. To be honest, I have really felt bad about my choice, after I got a different response on a seperate board. Actually I felt really dumb for drinking a beer. The other forum is more strict and I felt it. Anyway, thanks guys, I don't feel so dump or judged. :frown:

    Friday Weigh Ins

Seems I have been gone for a long while. I'd like to update my weight. I am currently down to 256. I am the tortus of the group, but I will take a loss anyday. I am getting skinnier and healthier! Awesome!

    Scars

I have been using E-Sil. It is an over the counter product. I gave up on the Silicone pieces because they don't stick once used for a week even after washing them like instructed. My scars are also pinkish red. Seems my port one is raised more than the little ones. I think the smaller incisions get rubbed on more....they don't seem so hard.
  13. BG - I appreciate your kind message! This time is hard, but we can get through it! At least we have the band now to help us! Let's hope we both get the sought after restriction! Keep on keeping on!

  14. JayTee - I can't thank your enough for your words of support and understanding. This is a hard time, and I am doing my best to be honest and not get to depressed! Ugh! Your the best!

    Friday Weigh Ins

Hello all. Sorry I have been MIA. (have not weighed in for a few Friday's.) I have been avoiding, because I am a bit down in the dumps. I am setting at 265. This has been my weight for the last two weeks. Glad to see everyones progress!
  16. Hi Sue! I noticed you posted in Dr. Hung's thread, so I decided to pop in and say hello! I am banded now, and decided to see Dr. McBride for aftercare. She and her staff are great and very convenient, as they are blocks away from my work. I have had my first fill and am scheduled for my next fill in July. It will be nice to feel a good level of restriction. How are you?
  17. 1. WEIGHT-265 2. FILLS- June 1, 09 - .7 cc's / 2nd fill scheduled for July 6,09. 3. RESTRICTION- a tiny bit. 4. RULES- I am not doing well, I have horrible habits that are getting in the way of weight loss. I do not drink with meals or to soon after. I am eating carbs and junk. As you can tell, it's not working for me. 5. ANYTHING ELSE- I feel like I am failing at this too. I say too because of past failures. I do my best to stay positive and focused, but the lack of results has me in the dumps with little momentum. Plus, I am a teller, so I have the people I told looking at me and not seeing a chnage. Oh, boy does that ever feel great....NOT! So I am in bandster hell. I did not think the band would fix my weight problems. I did think I would see some positive results. At this point, I have lost inches, and have been drinking my liquids! YAY! Those are awesome changes. I have to be patient and wait for the results I am longing for. Oh, and I am much more active now, so that is a plus as well. Thanks for the vent!

new admission to 100 lb club

MrsEbg - I am so glad to read your reply! I really am glad I am not the only one who has felt this way. Not to mention seeing your SUCCESS!!! Knowing that if it has worked for you helps me to believe it will work for me too. As silly as this may sound, I caught myself thinking today, what if I fail at this? Oh my goodness. Here I am in the beginning of a life change cutting myself short already! I guess it is the fear of past diets gone bad. To be honest, I am counting on the band to provide me with some restriction to keep me in line. My portion control has been terrible for a long while now. I appreciate your suggestions. One very positive I can say is that I have been getting my 8 plus glasses of water in a day. That is a big deal! I am going to go home tonight and go for a walk with my son.

new admission to 100 lb club

Hello all! I am a *new* member of the 100 lbs to loose club. I am currently 265 and before surgery I was 279.8. Lost 15 on the pre-op and a few more on the post -op liquid phase. When I say few I truly mean a few. Lowest I reached was 262. I have lost inches, and that is the NSV I am holding on to. Glad I have that to hold on to because truth be told, even thought I focused on having no expectations, I have found I have them all the same. I keep reminding myself this is a "life" change and it will not happen over night. My heart knows this but my head will not get on board. Speaking of head.....darn that head hunger. So, here I set, had my first fill on Monday. My band took a fill of .7 cc's. Dr. McBride began the fill with 1.5 cc's and backed it out until the liquid did not get caught up. I hope the fill settles in nicely and I will have some assistance. I am really wanting to have some help with my non existent *FULL* button. I am not trying to be a downer, *BUT* I really was bummed that I did not loose more on the 21 day liquid phase. (Self talk - inches lost...inches lost!!!) So, recap started 280 lost 15 solid lbs. Feeling like I am hanging on the the 15 and having head hunger issues. I am newly banded as of 4/24/09. I am keeping the faith that this will work for me. Anyone else relate to where I am?

    First fills

I went in for my first fill on Monday. My aftercare doc took pictures of my band, inflated it to make sure it was okay. (I had my band placed in Mexico.) After everything checked out, she put in 1.5 cc's then backed it out to .7 cc's. This is the level that Fluid moved threw without being caught up. I have been on liquids and had some soft food. Dr. McBride instructed me that I could come back in as soon as a month or two. She said normally she does the second fill at 2 months. I am eager to see if I will have restriction. So far, I don't feel to much difference. I am hoping for restriction, but am not holding my breath. *fingers crossed* Glad to have the first fill under my belt. *Silent prayer: Please let me reach a level of restriciton soon, so I can have help with portion control.*

One month check-up and no fill

Sounds like you had a great check up! Way to go on your weight loss! :grouphug:
  22. I thought food would taste so much better than it does. Friday's at work is treat day. I decided on a M&M cookie. I took 1/3 of one. It didn't taste all that good. I was glad I limited my portion. I think my taste buds have changed! :hurray:

    Non Scale Victories!

Love it! I have a huge "skinny cloths" section. I am currently in a size 22 now and my section goes down to 14 with a few 12's. I have not had a major scale victory so I can appreciate the NSV more! I am noticing a big difference in the way my cloths fit! My second chin is becoming a smaller chin indeed! You can see weight loss in my face -n- cheeks! So far I think I am loosing inches all over! Yay for inches lost - get out'a here! I was not expecting a miracle, but if you told me I was going to loose a couple lbs on the liquid diet, I would have been in disbelief. I really thought something different in my head.
