  1. The day after me? So you had your surgery yesterday? And you're already eating mushies! I am so jealous. I am dieing for some egg whites sprinkled with fresh cheese and scrammbled. EH! Lol. How are you feeling?
  2. What are some of the things you all ate the first week after surgery? I am eating Jello, crystal light, caffeine free tea, and fudgecicles. Not to mention the water and chicken broth. What did you guys all eat?
  3. I was banded on May 21st and still haven't had a BM. So I was thinking the same thing. I don't know if it's because of lack of food. I took a laxative, per doctors orders, the day before surgery and cleaned myself out. I'm curious if I just don't have BM because I have not had any food.....Let me know if you take the pills.
  4. Thanks so much! I feel really good. Alittle sore. Kinda like I just did a bunch of sit ups. I still get gas pains in my chest, but I just force myself to burp and take Gas X and I feel 100% better. I am so happy with my decision. I wish you all the best of luck on your journey.
  5. So I had my surgery on Thursday, May 21st. I feel great. I'm actually at work right now. Just sitting at a desk today, but nonetheless at work. I have already lost 4 lbs and almost no pain. Just soreness. Yay! Any other May Bandsters?
  6. So I had surgery done yesterday. I feel pretty good. Went to the grocery store today and grabbed a couple of things. Slept a lot today, but was also up walking around the house.
  7. Nope. They said I had an ulcer, that was probably due to medication and told me to take Prilosec. I took Protonix instead and was cleared for surgery. -
  8. You look great! Congrats! How much weight did you drop pre and post op?
  9. Anybody else get pills? I have Darvocet from an ankle injury that really helps and this Loratab isn't so I'm curious as to whether or not I should take that. When I'm sitting or laying and holding still no pain at all. It's only when I move and I have two children and three dogs....I have to more. That and I've been walking as much as possible. Surgery was yesterday.
  10. What kind did you get post op? I got Loratab Elixir that is disgusting.
  11. Lol. yes "puked." Heh. But it's fizzy and like stings in your mouth. Totally grossed me out!
  12. Did anyones surgeon make them drink this the day before surgery? I almost poked at the way it fizzes.....
  13. Surgery is still tomorrow! I did what I had to do...wish me luck.
  14. All I can say is that I did ankle weights and BB's in my bra. Added the twelve pounds I needed. Drink lots of water and eat big for the next three weeks and right before the appt. I wore baggy LAYERS of clothes and put a bottle of water in the pocket of my sweater...it adds a pound! Good luck!
  15. So my surgeon's office calls me today saying they need a note saying I am a good canidate from my PCP. I call my PCP she's types the letter and faxes it to them. They call like fifteen minutes ago and say that the letter isn't good enough and it needs to be a medical clearance note. My PCP isn't back in the office until Thursday afternoon. Guess when my surgery is scheduled?! Thursday 7 am! Now their talking about postponing. I am actually considering just altering the letter that was first written on my comp! This has been such a freakin hassle! I had EKG, CXR, Blood work, EGD, Psych eval and everything was "perfect" according to WLS. WTF are they asking for this letter for now!
  16. Muscle weighs more than fat. Working out and eating right will lead to more muscle mass and less body fat.
  17. I'm getting banded in two days. I have kept it from everyone except my mother who is taking me to the surgery, my husband and my children's day care provider. I told their day care provider because she needed to know why we were taking a vacation and was asking if everything was ok because of all my doctor's appts and having to pick the kids up late. She's supportive. I will not tell anyone else because I was for a weight loss specialist. All my co-workers are thin and they would all be critical.
  18. My surgeon explained it to me that it all depended on your method of eating before surgery, your BMI and your health conditions. He uses those as determining factors on what kind of pre-op diet to put his patients on.
  19. Congrats! We need to stay in touch since our surgeries are the same day. How exciting. They didn't make me do a pre-op diet. They said it's because my BMI is only 37.9.
  20. How was your pain the day of the surgery and the couple of days after. I am going back to work 5 days after being banded and want to make sure I can function. My WLS said I should do just fine considering my pain tolerance. I have had swelling and bruising on my left ankle and they x-ray yesterday at pre-op cause they noticed it and it's broken! I mean it's like an achey sore feeling but I would have never guessed broken. So I'm curious how I will handle the post band pain!
  21. Ok, I am 5'11 and my DH is 5'7. Mind you, when we got married I was only 5'9. Eh! I don't wear heels only because it makes me tower over him, plus makes me feel like a huge fat giant. I think when I get thinnier I will be more comfortable with it!
  22. I was approved. Had pre-op yesterday and my surgery is scheduled one week from today! YAY!
  23. I am so sorry. I know how frustrating this all can be. I would def check into another doctor. good luck
  24. Anyone else use Dr. Ollie Jackson at Top Surgeons and Weight Loss Centers?
