Hate this crap!

So my surgeon's office calls me today saying they need a note saying I am a good canidate from my PCP. I call my PCP she's types the letter and faxes it to them. They call like fifteen minutes ago and say that the letter isn't good enough and it needs to be a medical clearance note. My PCP isn't back in the office until Thursday afternoon. Guess when my surgery is scheduled?! Thursday 7 am! Now their talking about postponing. I am actually considering just altering the letter that was first written on my comp! This has been such a freakin hassle! I had EKG, CXR, Blood work, EGD, Psych eval and everything was "perfect" according to WLS. WTF are they asking for this letter for now!

Hey don't feel bad, they postponed my surgery the day before, if I hadn't called they wouldn't have told me until I got there for surgery..my EKG was irregular and had to get a cardiac clearance...so that took months..long story...but I finially had it done Jan. 21st of this year, I've had 2 fills and went 2 weeks ago for another fill the Dr. couldn't find the center of the port...long story short, I went today for an Xray so they could get it and my port has flipped...soooo now they have to unflip the flippin thing...another procedure...so I hate this crap too..good luck and be patient.

Believe me, I know how you feel. My surgery has been postponed for over 2 years now. I'm waiting on the hospital to get their Center of Excellence certification now. It's been a very long journey thus far, but I know it's all going to be worth it when I do finally get my band. Good luck! Hopefully everything will work out for you.

My group is very good they send you an itemized list of stuff they require and some of the things they schedule for you and have all the dates and times listed.

That letter from the PCP I was told needed to be done within 30 days prior to surgery and I had to schedule myself. It really helps when the team is very well organzied. I also asked them if it was needed for insurance approval and it's not so it must be something just the surgeon needs. Sorry it's screwing up you life!

Good Luck. My WLS's office sent me a folder with a letter that said "Your insurance company requires the following in order to be approved for surgery"....and then it was blank.....

I hate "Red Tape"! I know I couldn't play this game. Glad I've got mine already. I wish you all much success!

when you did your egd. did they find a hernia?

Nope. They said I had an ulcer, that was probably due to medication and told me to take Prilosec. I took Protonix instead and was cleared for surgery. -

So I had surgery done yesterday. I feel pretty good. Went to the grocery store today and grabbed a couple of things. Slept a lot today, but was also up walking around the house.
