I had my first fill a week ago and I'm still hungry and feel like I haven't got much of a restriction if any at all. I'm not sure how much they put it, but has anyone ever had to go back in for more before their next appointment? Any suggestions?

I'm being banded on August 13th and was hoping I could get some good advice on protein drinks/shakes. I'm so confused and want something that will taste at least a little good. I know there are some good ones out there, but have no idea what they are. Any advice would be great!!!

Always check with your insurance provider to make sure you know your specific requirements. After that, if you only need a BMI of 40 and are only a few pounds away and dont want to gain the weight, then I suggest you put some weights in your pockets, wear heavy clothes, keep your purse on your shoulder when you get on the scale (mine weighs a good 6 pounds) and drink lots and lots of water right before. I understand being on the fence with the BMI. It's crazy to think that its because your not fat enough. Who would ever have thought??? Good luck!! I hope it works for you.

I'm worried I might have to be a self pay for my lap band. I was just curious if anyone has had one done in California and where did you go and how much did it cost? I have no idea what to expect as to the cost of the procedure and does it cover fills? Also, can you tell me what the time line was like and what did you have to do? I didnt say I wanted to gain all the 25 pounds. I was just hoping maybe clothes etc. might add on some extra weight for me. I dont have $15,000 to pay for my own surgery so I need to be at a 40 BMI. I'm sick of being fat!!!!

I only need to add 25 pounds to reach my BMI of 40 and I will be totally approved by my insurance. I'm only geting bigger and bigger each year and I want the surgery. Does anyone have any tips to "add" on the weight (and I dont mean gaining it). I found an 8 pound outfit I can wear for weigh in, but I still need to come up with at least 20-25 extra pounds and I only have 3 weeks. I know there has to be some ways to wear it on please help me!!!!!!! Also do they round up or down on height? I am 5' 41/2 , will they use 5'4" or 5'3" ??

This is a free seminar through the hospital that is covered by my insurance. It is a requirement that I have to attend it before I can start the process. I will let you know what I find out tonight.

Yes it is PPO. I know they cover weight loss surgery, I'm just hoping they will cover me with a 35 BMI. Thanks so much for all your info.

How did you get them to cover gas and hotel? I'm at a 35 BMI with heavy shoes etc on so I'm a little nervous. Was it difficult getting approved through BC. I guess I could always head down to Irvine? Is there anything else you can tell me that might help with this process?
