  1. Hi Teagan, I'm good Thanks. I'm having the same issue at the moment with food-chocolate has become a big problem lol...Not good tho. I still exercise regularly and I have good restriction. I only eat twice a day except when there is chocolate. and I've lost nearly 26kg. So I am definitely happy with that. I have 5.75ml in my band. I do have problems when I get my fill, apparently I'm in the top 1% of problems with finding the port. Which is painful but my doctor is gr8. How's your weightloss going?I hope you are well take care...

  2. Hi William, just thought I'd pop in to see how you are travelling along...All is great here I'm still on the loosing side of things and life is great. Hope you are well and that you too are doing great.

    Take care Annie

  3. Hi Teagan, Hope everything goes well on the 13th for your next fill. I had mine on Friday the 7th last wk...3rd one and wow yep there is a big restriction. It's great tho just have to take it even slower when eating, well that's what I have found anyway. I've got a total of 5.75cc in my 10cc band, what is your fill quantity? anyway thinking of you good luck and take care Annie

  4. oops bottom message first lol... Take care keep your chin up your doing great...Annie

  5. I can understand your frustration I'm going through this with my Husband and we are quietly competitive lol...An as we know men loose faster but I'm giving him a run for his money lol and we r at this point very similar in weight loss.( but i reckon its cos Im stricter on myself then he is) He admittedly has more probs he seems to think he can still eat everything an tries, and of course has his stuck episodes but doesnt like to admit it. I can say I have only had a few of these compared to his many.He said since his 2nd fill he feels to tight but i think its his eating habits not chewing and scoffing food when he is hungry. But everyone is diff,an he could b to tight Im not the doctor lol. But he hasnt lost that much this fill which leaves the ? as to y ....There is much to learn and with everyday comes more trials...But dont 4get we all loose it differently. As I keep saying to my son perserverance lol...What are you eating through the day?

  6. Hi Teagan, I'm quite tight in the morn.so I only have a cup of coffee with slim milk an equal that lasts me till bout 11am then I have my protein and that may be eggs as an omlete with mushies or even with bacon but no bread/toast. I'l have sauce or hollandaise with it so that its not to dry.Dinner is veg with fish or chicken or I do a lot of casseroles so the meat is real tender. I have potato sometimes or rice but not much of that at all.protein an veg being the biggest portions. I really find the protein keeps me full. Dont get me wrong tho i still eat chocolate and have ice cream after dinner a few nights a wk.But I try to exercise for atleast 45mins 5 days a wk.but that doesnt always happen. to be cont...lol

  7. Hi Tegan how are you this week? All good here just sitting about the same not up or down but just plodding along...How's things for you ?

  8. Thanks Luv I feel gr8about the loss so far,it's so nice to go down in clothes size and feel your clothes getting bigger.Uno I didn't feel much diff.the1st couple of days after my2nd fill and then it just seemed to kick in an I wasn't feeling as hungry thank goodness.I hated that feeling of hunger again.I'm on 5.25cc and my next date is the10th of August. But like I said in my thread I have no period and the weird thing is I feel even tighter. But the doctor did say that with menstruation it would get tighter, but I don't get it when I haven't got my bloody period.Oh my,talk about baffled lol.Anyways I'm only having2sm meals a day lunch an dinner mainly protein and a cuppa coffee4bfast.What is your meal plan like?

  9. Hi Teagan, no I didn't get your pm don't know what happened there lol...thanks for your reply on my thread and the info... I was thinking it may have just been the body being confused wouldn't be hard with what it's going through lol...How are you travelling and your weight loss has it picked up for you...Im doin pretty good thanks for your comment. I've had my second fill and do feel a lot tighter, much more restriction than the first. Have you had your second fill and how is it for you?

  10. Hi Tegan, i'm going pretty good weight wise I'm down 16.5kg so I'm really happy with that. How is your weight going? Your photos are great and you can really see the difference. It's a wonderful feeling isn't it. Apart from that I'm just having a down day but I'll Get over it and you don't want to hear me go on about that anyways.... How did you find getting your first fill done and the few days after?

  11. Hey Tegan - That's ok, the weight will start to move again and I do think that the liquid faze is the jump start to that happening. I'm down a total of 15kg now and wow that feels great. My friend hadn't seen me in 2 wks and she was so excited when she saw me. Funny cos you know you have lost but not how much until you take photos an put them side by side...It's great. And to get the comments too...Talk to you soon Take Care Annie

  12. Hi Tegan just read your post ... Congratulations that's wonderful news. How did you go having the fill done? I had mine last week and apart from having to have an ultrasound to find my port everything went great. I just had my fluids for 2 days and then mushies for a day an now I'm back to solids again with great restriction and again not feeling hungery. I just love that.... Keep up the great work... Take care Annie

  13. Thanks Tegan...I thought I better put a pic up...I know what you mean I've been on a stand still for 2 wks as well. Seems like when you start to eat solids again that it just stops funny cos I still can only eat small amounts about a cup max maybe twice a day with a shake 4 bfast. I'm up an down 1kg at the moment waiting on my period ( sorry about that TMI...LOL) But I've had some chocolate cravings nasty little things they are lol. How much have you lost so far? I'm around the 12kg mark down, but very much looking 4wd to it moving again...I'll let you know how my fill goes tomorrow..Take care Annie

  14. Hi Tegan how are you going? I go in for my first fill tomorrow...I'm feeling very excited.I'm really looking forward to getting some restriction again. Have you had your first fill yet and how did it go for you if you did? Hope you are well Annie.

  15. Thanks for your words of support William...certainly does help being able to chat on here. Every new day is a step closer to that slimmer person within and again so true it's definately what's in the inside that counts. The walls are tumbling down and what a great feeling....Thankyou again...

  16. OMG I did it lol....Here I am ... Don't know about other pics might do some later...But that's a biggy for me just having my profile pic up...I have you to blame for that...LOL but hey you are right need to see where we are coming from in this journey hey. Now stay tuned for the changes LOL...

  17. Wish your wife all the best from me whether she has it done or not it still is hard either way. And like you said 60% band 40% head it does take a lot of work. The psychological side of things is weird thinking you can still fit in a big plate of food when you are hungry and when you get down to it you can't even get down a 1/4 of it...I think my band is just great...I'm loving me a little more every day...And that's got to be a good thing...

    Take care Annie

  18. LOL you found my page...I was thinking the same about photos but still feel a bit shy about it yet, maybe a little later lol...

I always wondered about wether I would loose the weight with just my hb having it done as I was the hesitant one. My hb was getting it one way or another I think. I had a friend who had the lap band procedure about 8 or so years ago, and she went thru hell in the first few mths. It really put me off. But her surgery was with the origainal of all lap bands and there was a few issues with that one.I suppose they have really fine tuned them now and even again in another ten years they will have changed them again...Technology it's a fantastic thing sometimes.

  19. Oh if you click on my name you will be able to write on my board and I'll know you've written me a note...C ya..

  20. It's funny the difference there is in what each doctor recommends. We were on clear fluids for one week then mushies second week and now smalll portions of solid foods maily protein but still already solid food at 2wks. Weight loss has plateaued for a couple of days but all feels gr8. Now we are just looking forward to our fill. My hb is next Friday the 5th mine the following, so that will be interesting.

Anyway it's lovely to chat with you please keep in touch if you like would love to hear how you are going...

    Take care Annie

  21. Hi again William, I know exactly what you mean by 1000 characters not being long enough LOL...Sounds like a great way to do it. Like I said hadn't heard of it before but will ask my doctor at my first check up on the 10th of June. Just for curiosity sake. All is good here my husband and I are both at that same point as you mentioned could eat anything, but it's so not worth doing it. I have to admit the fact that we did this together is wonderful especially for the support. Although it is amazing the differences we are noticing in how long the healing process is taking for us both. I have type II diabetes so my process is taking a little longer but the results already are amazing and I am off my injections...Woo Whoo I gotta be happy with that...

  22. Hi William,Annie here we chated on the thread yesterday about when do you feel normal.Just thought I'd say hi and I thought it was interesting when you mentioned the telemetric band.Sorry for my ignorance I had not heard of it before and thought that hey gastric banding was all the same.I researched it just quickly to get an idea of how it works and it certainly does sound like a gr8 option.Some1 said in a post that it was not in the US yet,I'm presuming it is the same for Aust.as I was banded on the 11/5 and my hb awk prior on the4th,the Drs only spoke of what they used so l like I said I hadn't even heard of it b4.We both had6entry sites with2of those being lg incisions,do you know if the op is similar to the standard gbing? How have u been going over all since you've had the procedure? We stayed in hosp.o/night and I couldn't imagine trying to have come home straight after the op the way that I have heard people do.I was totally out of it,not good.Hope to hear from you takecare Annie

  23. Hi Tegan How are you luv? I'm doing ok I'm now 9 days post op and still tired ad I've had a few issues with the sliming and a couple of sessions of gagging/vomiting. But overall everything is still travelling as smoothly as possible. I'm still trying hard to keep up fluids, I just don't have much urge for anything food or drink. I must say I do love the fact that food now does not rule my life...

How is everything treating you? I hope you are well take care Annie

  24. Hi Tegan I'm still on the clear liquid side of things.I've no urge or want for food still at this point 3 days post op which is great. I'm just concerned at the moment with keeping up with my fluids and not getting dehydrated. I still have the gas issue which is at times painful and I am still very tired, and my throat is still sore from the tube. But when I have something other than water I've had jelly, custard and optifast shakes not that I can drink much. I had my meds this morn an by the time I had them I was to full for a Bfast so to speak lol...

I was given a book on gastric lapband surgery and in that it had all of the time frames 4liquid and mushie and solid foods. Over a period of a mth I should be back to solids. But every1 is different and I'm not pushing my boundaries. I am scared to death of vomiting and don't want my band to slip so I'm taking it really slow.

Anyway how is your weight loss travelling, did you do a preop diet etc? When do you go for your first fill?....

  25. Hi Tegan It would be great to keep in touch. Every little bit of support helps, contact me any time, I'm on everyday. I just think this site is great being able to read and ask how people get through the different aspects of lap banding. It sure is going to be an exciting ride...
