  1. I am so happy that my insurance covers my fills. I only have to pay the copay $20 whether I have a fill with flouro or without.
  2. I had a fill about a month ago. I am now filled to 8 in a 10cc band. I had only lost one pound in a month for a total of 22 pounds. My PA was very disappointed and I must admit that I was disappointed as well. We had a serious discussion about what I have been eating and it turns out I have been consuming hundreds of calories of liquids and slider foods. She wants me to journal everything I eat and come for a flouro in 3 weeks to make sure that my pouch is not stretched. Well... I have been journaling and eating within 1,000-1,100 calories this week and I have lost 4 pounds. I hope my pouch isn't stretched but I am happy that I am losing weight again.
  3. I am finally down a pound after not losing for 2 weeks. I got a second fill this week and feel like I am getting full faster. I still can eat anything but my portions are definitely within the 3/4 to a 1 cup. I also am not getting hungry in between meals. I go in for another fill in 2 weeks, so I hope I am getting close to my sweet spot. I also bumped up the exercise to 45 min. 5 days per week. I haven't started weights yet, just cardio. I plan on doing some strength in a few weeks, I am still a little scared:ohmy: 5/19 233 (-8) Surgery Day:tt2: 5/22 ? 5/29 ? 6/5 ? 6/12 ? 6/19 228 (-5) 6/26 225 (-3) 7/3 225 (-0) 7/10 224 (-1) Total -17lbs.
  4. I had my second fill today. I got 2cc's more in my 10cc band for a total of 6.5cc's. I have another appt. in 2 weeks. I definitely feel sore this time. If I had restriction would I know it yet??? or not until I eat solids. I am on liquids today and mushies tomorrow and solids on Friday. So, I will see what kind of restriction I have then??!! I didn't lose any weight since my first fill and that was 2 weeks ago. My PA said it would take between 3-5 fills. I am sooo lucky they will fill every 2 weeks!!!!!:smile2:
  5. I get my second fill on Wednesday. I am hoping for some restriction soon!!!!!! I can eat everything and am really trying to stay in the guidelines, but not doing very well!!
  6. how many points are you eating??

I was scheduled for my first fill on June 23. I went in and thank goodness my insurance pays for fills, so I just had to pay my 20. copay. I was very nervous and the PA that did my fill was obviosly still learning. She mashed on my stomach to find the port and then she numbed me, (in the wrong spot) so she called in someone to help her, she mashed on my stomach foound the port and inserted the needle. She unfilled to find out how much saline was in the band and I had 3cc's so she added 1.5 cc's so, now I am at 4.5cc's. I had to sip on a cup of water and then I was allowed to leave with another fill appt. in 2 weeks. Next fill on 7/8!! I hope this one goes better. I am now 16lbs. down. Still very hungry in between meals and I am going to try very hard to stick to the recommended amounts. I have been exercising 4-5 days per week at the gym. Usually on the elliptical or the treadmill. I have not learned to like the gym. I don't know if that will ever happen.

  9. I had my surgery on May 19, 2009. It was pretty uneventful. I went to the surgical center at 5:30, my surgery was scheduled for 7:30. I was nervous and excited. I was taken to the preop area and was hooked up to the IV. I was weighed and was suprised to find that I weighed in at 233. This was 8 lbs. less than when I started my preop diet. I was 241 at the Dr.'s office. As I was laying there I thought "What are you doing?" but, I was told it was time to go and I was wheeled into the operating room. I slid on to the table and then remembered waking up in the recovery area and was taken to my room. I didn't want to spend the night but my insurance made me . After just a few minutes in my room I was removed in a wheelchair to have the fluoro done. I drank a little bit of disgusting Barium liquid and stood there while 2 technicians made sure that the liquid passed through the band. Then I was taken back to my room. I was a little uncomfortable but not in pain. I was released to go home the next day at noon.

  11. I went in for my fill today. First the PA that I had must have been in training because she had a difficult time finding my port and had to ask for help. She went ahead and numbed me up and then realized she didn't do it in the right spot so after mashing on my stomach for what seemed like forever she finally found my port. I had 3cc's already in my 10cc band and she put in 1.5cc's more, so I know have 4.5cc's. I go back in 2 weeks for another fill. Next time, I am going to ask for the most experienced PA!!!!:smile2:
  12. I was banded on May 19th. I have been doing a pretty good job of following the diet. I know I certainly don't eat as much as I used to, but I feel like I can eat a lot!!
