Bunny Bandsters - April '09, MASTER THREAD #1

I'm baaaaaaaack!! So I've been a HORRIBLE patient haven't seen my Doc in years. I'm calling tomorrow to make my appointment and deal with the lecture I deserve. I'm waking up due to vomitting & coughing. The reflux is more than it should be. I'm terrified of getting "in trouble". Yes, I'm 43 and scared of being scolded. BUT I'm woman enough to admit I've screwed up & need to be better!!! I have so much to read & catch up on everyone. Sorry to see Jay-tee having such issues.

    Throwing Up every Night..Please Help

God Bless the ticker I was banned on 4/16/09. I updated my weight loss.

    Throwing Up every Night..Please Help

Confession time I haven't seen my Doc in years. I'm even confused by whether I was banned in 2008 or 2009. I've lost roughly 100 but I'm still 40lbs from where he wanted me. I've recently started waking up vomitting/coughing. I'm going to call tomorrow and face the music. My health is far more important than my fear of getting in trouble for not having been to the Doc.
  4. Is there anyone else who is a patient of Dr. Rosett?

    Friday Weigh Ins

I stepped on the scale today and it read 255, whoo hoo! On 3/5/10 I was 263. I'm a very happy camper.

    Friday Weigh Ins

Ok, I've changed my ticker to reflect 262, which would be a 4 lb loss. But I'm a bit nervous that my scale is having issues. It was taking a super long time to give my weight. Then it gave me 262.3. So I tried it again and it gave me 265.4. I stepped on again (Yes, again :smile2: ) and it listed 262.3. So I'm sticking with that and hoping that it is confirmed in the next couple days.

JT- You look great!!! Congrats on the smaller pants & shirt. I'm so happy for you! I'm so glad I signed on today. I'm just giddy with joy for my fellow bunnies. You guys inspire me more than you could ever know. I failed my band at first, truly did everything not to help myself. But now I feel like not only can I work it,but that I AM working it! I can't wait to share my results like JT & BG have. Today is good day a really good day!

WHOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO BG!!!!!!! So happy for you! I've been to two funerals in the last 6 days. I didn't weigh in on Friday, simply forgot. Then I snacked way too much. But not as much as I would've before learning to "work" my band. Anyhow I'm up 3 lbs right now, but I hope to be down by next week with addtional loss. Of course I have 2 parties this weekend to attend. Both are drinking events with tons of bad food. I must be strong!!!

LOL JG  Congrats again JT, you will see Onderland soon. I have no doubt in my mind. I'm down 1 lb this week. I haven't worked out much at all. I've got to get back on track.

Congrats JT on your reflections, how cool is that ?! A third of the man. :frown: BG- sorry you're feeling so poorly. I hope you recover quickly and kick the cooties' booties! JG- Congrats on your loss. GL with your knee replacement. Well I guess I have plenty of time to wish you well. Extra positive thoughts can't hurt, right? I'm down 7lbs! I've been working out quite often. I feel like I'm finally working my band. Though I have to be honest and say that I'm struggling with the not drinking while eating. I've got to get a grip on that. I'm very happy to break the 50lbs lost mark. I still have a loooooooong way to go, but I'm going!!

2 lbs down for me this week. Clearly the fill & working out are working! I'm so happy! I know I'm miles away from the other Bunnies, but I'm on the right track now!

I stayed the same this week. TOM and stress, I'm sure played a big part. I failed miserably at my BodyBump class. I thought I was going to puke & passout, only 10 minutes in The instructor agreed that I should try again at another time. She told me to go walk & monitor my heart rate. I went on the bike watched my HR and did 16 miles in 45 minutes. So I feel very proud of myself for not letting not being able to do the class get me down. Big pat on the back for me from me :sifone: Congrats JT on passing your 1st goal!

    Friday Weigh Ins

JT- I agree please call your Doc. BG- this is so exciting! I love your new "head". I'm going to check out your blog in a bit. JG- Slow & steady wins the race, we'll all get there sometime. Celebrate any loss, because it sure beats the alternative. Though I admit I want the magic pill to make it all disappear and leave me looking like Cindy Crawford in a matter of minutes :bored: I'm down 4lbs this week. I wasn't able to take the BodyPump class My knees are really giving me grief. Last year when this happened I ignored it and pushed through- HUGE mistake. I wasn't able to excerise at all for 8 weeks and then had to go back very very very slowly. So I'm going to ice, Ibuprofen and try to keep a major flair up at bay. Hopefully I'll be able to take it next Friday.

Here are links to the two classes I'm thinking about taking: RPM- http://www.lesmills.com/global/en/members/rpm/a-typical-class.aspx Body Pump- http://www.lesmills.com/global/en/members/bodypump/a-typical-class.aspx I have to work up the nerve to go. I never thought I would be afraid to be around a bunch of people, I'm very outgoing. But I tell ya, I'm so nervous about trying these classes. What is the worst thing that could happen? I make a fool out of myself? Oh well, it's not like I'm going to know anyone. I just have to be like Mike (Michael Jordan) and do it!

    Spining -totally intimidated

Can a big woman Spin? I'm very bottom heavy & klutzy on top of that  I'm excited, but really nervous to try. I'm taking part of of a 12 week fitness/weight loss challenge at our health club. They offer several classes for much lower cost for those in the challenge. Anyhow, RPM is the one that will fit with my schedule. I'm an early morning exerciser, time FT working Mom of a 5 yr DD. So do I give it shot? Or would I be better off waiting till I lost more weight? I've been walking/jogging/marching in the current channel of the pool. I also have recumbant biked & eliptical (my fav).

What's up Bunnies? How is everyone this week? Bella-any word from Gynie? How are you feeling? JT-have you been using the Wi? I'm debating taking a Spin class. The thought of it is really intimidating. But it's the only class that would fit within my limited workout time frame. I feel like being in a class would give me a little extra push. Do any of you Spin?

Good to hear you were able to keep stuff down Bella. Hopefully you're on the up swing now. Tammy- Hello Bunny Twin I'm the 16th also. BG- I read your blog the other day, you crack me up! Thank you so much for sharing all that you do.

Down 2lbs this week. The fill is helping!! Whoo hoo! If I didn't change scales (old one died) I think it would've been down 3-4lbs, whatever I'll take 2.

Bella- First of all ((((HUGS)))) I can hear the frustration, fear, panic and confusion in your post. I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. Please vent away and do keep us posted. I agree with BG that you need a second opinion ASAP. Like BG I don't want to scare you, but that little fluid isn't good. I'm a bit pissed off at your Doc for having you so at a loss. It sucks, it truly sucks that you don't know what is going on. When you were in the hospital were they giving you IV fluids? Did you feel any better hydrated? Where do you live? Is there another hospital you can go to? Any other band Docs near by? Again (((HUGS))) and please don't think we're ganging up on you. This is truly coming from a place of concern and best of intentions. We're here for you Bunnie friend.

Bunny Bandsters - April '09, MASTER THREAD #1

This is the challenge I'm taking part in with a friend of mine at our healthclub: In Workout-to-Lose, teams of four compete in a variety of fitness challenges to help build a healthier lifestyle and lose weight. Since the program’s introduction at RecPlex in 2005, teams have lost an average of 8 to 12% of their total body weight. The 20 teams that participated in the most recent challenge lost a combined total of more than 740 pounds. To start the challenge, teams of four receive a fitness assessment. They then work towards their goal of losing weight. Along the way, guided by nationally certified personal trainers and the RecPlex dietician, team members are given the tools to embrace a healthier lifestyle. Teams participate in weekly: exercise programs, weight loss tracking, private weigh-ins, and health and wellness seminars. At the end of the challenge, teams receive another fitness assessment to measure their success. The total weight loss is celebrated at a closing ceremony, where winning teams and individuals receive awards for their progress. “Workout-to-Lose has been extremely successful for those who have participated, ” commented Lyn Boehm, Programs Director at RecPlex. “Not only have participants lost weight, but they’ve also embraced a healthy approach to life! When the challenge is complete, they feel a great sense of accomplishment and they seem to appreciate that a healthy lifestyle can be fun.” Workout-to-Lose begins with a kickoff meeting on January 18 at 7:30 pm. The competition officially begins on January 25. Those interested can register individually or as a team of four. The fee for the program is $50 per participant. RecPlex members receive a $10 discount. The fee includes: the pre- and post-challenge fitness assessments (valued at $50 each); weekly fitness challenges and seminars; private weekly weigh-ins; a program t-shirt upon completion of the challenge; and a celebratory awards ceremony at the conclusion of the eight weeks

Sharon- I fell so frickin hard off the wagon that I'm still bruised:redface:. Please do come here to vent. You've got to get it off your chest. I stopped coming here and it was THE WORST thing I did. I was in total denial, Band? What Band? I wasn't accountable to anyone and I didn't have any support because I didn't ask or look for it. Just knowing that everyone is here makes it easier, it really does. So please use us you can pm and I can give you my email address if you like. JayTee- Is Kirk on Dialysis? Joe was only for 5 months. Then an annyonmus LIVING donor gave him a kidney. Yep, someone who knew us or of us and wanted to be the donor. It was such an amazing gift, truly the gift of normal life. Joe is doing quite well now. But man oh man, the ride that we were on for the last 5 years was just awful. Between losing our second daughter, Joe's health and other drama life was just INSANE. But now we're on the upside and that is WONDERFUL. I just have to get my weight/health on track and we'll be golden! Please forgive all my typos, I've got to run back to work get proofread

Ok have to be quick here. BG- thanks so much for all the info. JT- you can SOOOOOOO do it! No problemo! We're here to root you on as you go. Though we do expect to see pics of your Hottie self  My DH blew off his 30 yr, I think his giant belly (30lbs of Kidney made him look 12 months pregnant) was a large part of why he didn't. Since he had his transplant and those huge suckers taken out he is a 49 yr old hottie :w00t: I want to be a 41 year old one myself:cool2: Down 5 lbs this week. Lets hope this continues. Was able to eat 1/2 cup mushy sausage dressing last night. Just ate 1/2 chicken chipolte meat-it was almost minced.
