  1. My doctor said Yaz was the cause of blood clots moving from my leg to both my lungs and almost killed me. They put me on Lovenox for a month. It didn't really affect my periods but you have to be careful not to get your blood too thin. I would go everyday to the doctor's office so they could do a prick test on my finger to see where my levels were. At one point they sent me to the emergency room for a Vitamin shot because I was so thin that is I got cut I would bleed out and die. That wasn't good. So just be careful and get tested atleast once a week if not every other day. Insurance didn't pay for the office visit everytime I had to go get tested so it got expensive but it was worth it. If you period does bother you and you don't want to have one. Then get the Mirena IUD. I got mine and haven't had a period since July of last year. Good luck. [

I've been on Yaz for almost 6 yrs. and haven't had any problems I love it. My doctor did tell me to stop taking them about a month before surgery. Maybe that's why I had to get the blood thinner shots. I had Mirena for 8 mons and it didn't work for me I got all the bad side effects. But everyone is different.

  2. I'm going through the same thing! I've been losing so slow and I workout 6 days a week. I just tell myself that the weight is going to come off. Why have you postponed your fill appts? I have had 2 fills and have 5.2 cc's in my band I go for another fill on 6/10. I keep telling myself "I will not fail the band, I deserve to be thin and health!" And the more I tell myself that the more I believe it. I joined Overeaters Anonyomus to help with my mentality, I would find myself snacking and I wasn't even hungry, so I know I have to work on my mind and get support any way I can. YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE!! You can do it!:Dancing_biggrin:

  3. Have u tried upping your good fats? I have high triglycerides also and they said it genetic because my whole family has it (even the skinny ones) but I noticed that when I was on weight watchers before my surgery it was lower. I try to include 1/2 oz walnuts or almonds for a snack , and also when I eat salad I add 1/4 of a avocado. I also use canola oil with Omega 3 in it and I'll use a teaspoon when I cook. My doctor told me to eat good fats and try to raise my HDL because it was low.

  4. I've had the same problem and a lady at my dr's office said that she had it but all the time and it was the tubing from the lapband pressing on her diaphram and she would feel relief if she stood up and or pull her arms over her head. And the dr's office said that it was normal for that to happen from time to time. Oh and it would hurt to take deep breathes.

  5. I think that you'll be fine maybe some swelling still. I was exactly the same way after my first fill I could eat whatever I want but after my 2nd I haven't been able to eat any bread and even chicken and meats give me a hard time. I had to learn what works for me now and what don't. If you don't see improvement then I would go back to the doctors office. I heard of people not even being able to hold down liquids.< /p>

  6. I had my LAP-BAND® on Nov. 6, 2009. I too have had 3 fills because I didn't feel full or anything. This last fill though has worked. My weight loss hasn't been very fast or steady! I too workout at least 5 days a week. I walk everyday 1.5 miles. I have just recently started weight training. Pre-op I weighed 246, I now weigh 228. I am a little discouraged because the weight loss has been so slow!

Hi blueeyeddream, we are very similar I started at 246 also and now I'm 221. My weight loss hasn't been fast or steady either but I'm happy not to be gaining. Don't worry I think of it this way I'm down 25 pounds and in another five months it'll be 50 #s. I have heard alot of people hitting their goal in over a year. And my dr's office told me that I'm doing great that some people don't lose anything yet or they gain weight.

  7. It might just be from overeating. When I first had my surgery I thought that the feeling of fullness was the same as before I had the surgery.( You know when your so full that you have to unbutton your pants.) But now it is a different feeling if I really overeat now I get a really bad pain in my chest until it goes down. Just eat slow and try eating a little less and see if you still feel bad.

  8. When I'm stuck I get a horrible pain in my chest, and at that moment I want to get it out. I try not to throw up I just wait it out until it passes, once it took a hour. Drinking makes it worse. I heard on here that some people start burping when they are full, that's there sign to stop eating.

  9. I'm having the same problem with getting stuck. I think it's because I don't chew well enough or I'm eating to fast but I get stuck at least once a day. And the chest pain is the worst it hurts so bad that I get afraid to eat again later. I started doing Weight Watchers and it seems to be working I've been losing 2 pounds a week. And I do walk everyday for at least 30 min to 1 hour. I try to get at least 10,000 steps on my peodometer so I stay active on a daily basis.
