You have to do what is best for you.. but I didn't tell my family., or my friends; for alot the reasons everyone has posted.. they just don't get the struggle.. yet my father made me eat everything on my plate before we could leave the table..and now when I do see them or call them,, its very positive.. because they dont' know i had the surgery.. they think i am doing it on my own,, and I am ! but with a band to help!!,,lol,,
When I went in the hospital for the day, I just told people at work that I was having a hernia repair.. that was on the thursday, and I went back to work on the Monday,, it was never brought up again... -
Good luck!

You wouldn't think so,,you shouldn't be lifting or be to active just after surgery anyways.. but I guess you will find out tomorrow. Every doctor is different. Good luck.

Did you not have a regular monthly appointment with the doctor's that did your surgery?? I was banded in January of this year,, and they weigh me monthly , monitor my weight loss?? I had one fill so far,, and for me its been fantastic,, but I use it as a tool.. everyone's journey is a different one, but I definately would be talking to the clinic you had this done.
Be well and good luck.

Well hi and welcome. I am also new and and just banded on January 13th,,please understand that this website is a great tool,, but everyone is different,,I had to be on liquids for two weeks before surgery,, and i gave up cold turkery my 'diet pepsi' and I dropped to one cup of coffee a day.. just enough to ward of the headaches and give in to the craving of caffeine..lol... and try not to think about it so much.. I still have my coffee in the morning and yes large double double,(sorry 2 sugars and2 creams!) I can only give up so much,, eventually i will go down to a small,, but baby steps.lol. just listen to your doctors!! Its a great journey with great results only if you want it to be. Good Luck!
