  1. Eating in general is less enjoyable to me. It's definitely more work. Trying to figure what I can eat, what I can't eat... who's watching... I have to be more careful when eating with friends who don't know I'm banded... don't want to start sliming in front of them. It was kinda sad at Christmas dinner. I had a tiny bit of turkey w/ gravy and it started to make me slime. ( My band won't tolerate chicken or turkey). Watching everyone else thoroughly enjoying their food and getting seconds was a little sad.

  2. I have a treadmill at home which I love. I enjoy reading while using it. It's nice when the weather is icky to jump on it without having to go anywhere. I also have a gym membership. For the past couple of months, I've been using the treadmill and going to the gym every other day. I use the weight machines at gym. I use the treadmill at home on Sun, Weds, Fri and Sat. I go to the gym on Tues, Thurs, and Sat. I take Mondays off.

  3. Wow! I just saw a 2 yr 24 hr fitness membership for $299 at costco. What a deal! I'm definitely going to get one of those when my current membership ends in Feburary. Thanks Tiffanye! ( I was checking out the bodybugg on there when I saw the membership )

  4. Aside from the nutritional changes, the trauma of surgery also affects hormones, and emotions. I've also read something about fat "holding" hormones, so the actual fatloss, will affect hormones and emotions. That's part of the reason why overweight women have trouble conceiving.

Hillmama, I hope you will continue to feel better as you heal. I'm curious, about what kind of surgery revision you had? I've never heard of concentric pouch dilitation before. Did they give you a new band?

  5. I chew sugarfree Extra. Watermelon flavor is delish! I hadn't accidently swallowed gum since I was a kid so, of course, right after I had surgery I accidently swallowed two pieces at the same time!!!! I didn't have any restriction at the time. I told doctor's ofc about it and they said it was ok. I still chew gum but only one piece at a time!!! They do say it causes gas but, it isn't to terrible. I think the gum helps prevent snacking between meals.

  6. My resolution is to be as healthy as possible this year. I commit to:

    1) Cardio 4xwk and Strength training 3 x wk (6days per week)

    2) Follow band eating rules concentrating on quality Protein first. Chewing well and eating slowly.

    3) Work on complusive eating issues and "head hunger" issues.

    4) Limit slider foods (cookies, ice cream...) to one day per week. A designated "cheat day".
