  1. I was banded in April '09 and have lost about 65 lbs. The past two months, I've been going up & down 5-10 lbs. I can't seem to get motivated to eat right. It's like I'm burnt out on dieting but, I really want to get to my goal to lose 20 more lbs. (my ticker is probably wrong). I even joined Weight Watchers to try to get motivation.

I'm thinking about getting another fill but, I think I have pretty good restriction I just keep wanting to eat junk food.

If anyone knows how to get their groove back, PLEASE

    HELP!!!

  3. Well, that's the way the cookie crumbles (ha, ha). It is hard to last few pounds. Our bodies are resisting losing anymore weight. I've been struggling with the last 16 lbs.

Keep doing what you're doing. It'll happen. Congrats on your success.

  4. Once, before I knew better. Soon after my first couple of fills, I tried to have plain tuna and crackers. It was my first PB/slime incident. I was at a Water park with the bathrooms on the complete opposite side. I slimed the whole day. It was an AWFUL experience. I haven't tried tuna since. I agree it's the texture. I've had a similar experience with stringy lobster. I think with a little mayo it'd be fine but, I just haven't tried it yet. It's been almost a year ago. : )

  5. I traveled approx one month after surgery and had no problems. At that time, I hadn't had any fills yet.

I also traveled this week without any problems. It's been a year now since surgery and am at my "sweet spot". I think flying does make you slightly tighter. You just have to be real careful when eating and be gentle to yourself.

    Good luck!

  6. It's just like portion disortion with food. People are just not used to seeing the smaller sizes. I had a portion of chilli and a woman at work freaked and said, "is that all you're eating???" She had Soup. I should have said, mine is alot healthier and has ALOT more Protein but, all I said was, "yes and I have some veggies too".

Maybe that's why obesity rates are on the rise, because so few know what a normal portion looks like anymore or, what a "normal" weight looks like either.

  7. I want in!!! The challenges help me alot too!!! I just finished the Valentine's Day challenge and would like to join this one. I want to lose 17 lbs by Easter or at least by my 1st Bandiversary on 04/14/10!!!

It's gonna be hard! Those last 20'ish always are. If I don't make it it'll be ok because, I'm still VERY close to my goal and I feel great!!!

  8. Sometimes I miss food. Sometimes at resturants when I see a skinny girl eating a huge hamburger or sandwich, yes, I do feel envious. Sometimes like at Thanksgiving, when everyone was enjoying 2nds and I could barely eat a couple of bites of turkey, I do miss food.

BUT, I try to focus on how much healthier I am. How much longer I will live and how much more I will enjoy my life as a thin and healthy person.

When it's all said and done, I'm thankful I have the band that will help me to keep the weight off and I won't have to obsess about food as much. I'm thankful it will give me the freedom from obessing about my weight. It will give the gift of only having 1 or 2 sizes in my closet instead of 10 different sizes. I still enjoy eating, just not as much!!!
