This is where I get confused. When you eat just a cup of food is that around 300 calories? I am having problems with amounts. I am about 8 wks out and I am suppose to start adding food that I can chew thoroughly. I am not restricted yet so I must be careful. This has been a definite challenge for me. Prior to LAP-BAND® I restricted my calories to 1000 a day.

We are going to St Marteen. Where are you going? I hope I can judge the amounts I will be eating. Cant wait

I am leaving on a cruise 10-17. Makes me nervous. At that point I will be 7 weeks out. Any suggestions to make my food choices easier?

Went for post op today. Dr said that my pain in my stomach was being caused by a nerve condition. He explained that when he puts the port in some nerves are moved. I explained that yesterday I had to stand up most of the day. If the pain is not gone in 2 weeks he will give me something specifically for that nerve. I had the surgery to get off meds not take more. I was so concerned about the food etc.... surely not this pain a month out.

I am changing the topic I guess but I am getting frustrated. I was banded 9-2 and the pain on the left side is getting worse. Today at work I had to stand to get any releif. Seeing Dr tomorrow for post op visit. The thought of him pressing on my stomach is panicing me. Any one else had this problem? First day I am starting to regret my decision.

I take LiquiMax from costco. I took it before being banded. My whole family takes it. I need a suggestion for Omega 3. Fish is not my favorite. Always took a supplemant but can not take it now.

I forgot to ask what kind of shakes are you drinking? Check the sugar content. Just a thought. My shakes have about 160 calories.

Are you sure that you eating enough?

You are not the only one experiencing the up and down lbs. I do not understand it either. I have no restriction yet. I am doing 800 calories also. I go down 1 lb and up 2 lbs. They are adjusting my meds also. Scarey to me cause my bp drops 30 points at a time. Guess we both have to have patience. What are you eating?

Thank you for your encouragement. I guess I just needed to be vent. What is really funny.....I am craving carbonation, not necessary soda but the feeling of carbonation. Weird!

Banded 9-2 and getting very down. I have only lost 5 lbs. I am keeping to high Protein. My band is empty so maybe that is not helping. I am loosing the same amount that I would loose before I was banded. I am keeping mostly to Protein Shakes , some eggs, tuna and chicken. Getting disheartened. I am happy for all of the sept banders. Keep up the good work.

It is funny. I lost 28 lbs before the surgery on a healthy high Protein diet. It took forever. Dr recommended that I look into lap band. Had is done 9-2 lost another 8 lbs since. Only one person has noticed it. They will say you got new glasses? LOL

I got banded 9-2 last Wed. Being scared is normal. I was questioning my decision until today. The pain after is more of a discomfort. Once they gave me the pre meds to relax me thats was it. I woke up and did not remember anything. I was told to take magnisuim(?) colace (over the couner) the night before. I started it at 4pm. My Dr told me that this helps with the gas. I had no gas at all. Ask your Dr.

You have worked very hard to get to this point. If you were not nervous that would be concerning. Good Luck and I will keep you in my prayers Wed.

Comet321, We have a lot in common. I was banded 9-2, older than most on site. My weight goal is the same. I wish you good luck. Sounds like you are on the right path. Would like to keep in touch with you. Maybe you could e-mail me. We can support each other.

I was banded on 9-2. I do not think I have seen this topic brought up....sugar count. I did not know that when you are taking the IV,s etc your blood sugar goes up. Mine was as high as 248. It scared me. I have lost many in my family to diabetes including my 16 yr old sister. I got panicy. I was told this happens often and not to worry about it. I had to get 2 shots of insulin. I would have felt a lot better if I was told that this could be a possibility in advance. So if it happens to do not get upset. It is also taking me longer to bounce back than I expected. Maybe because the hernia was a lot larger then they thought. First time in 20 yrs no Prilosec I feel liberated. Another thought. I lost 30 lbs before the operation. Which is great. I am on blood pressure pills. If anyone is on meds monitor them as you loose the weight. I already had to cut back my dosage in half. These are things I never really thouht of. Can not weight for day that I am off all meds. Then I will know the decision was the correct one.

Banded on the 2nd also. Glad you are doing so well. I am still somewhat uncomfortable. Does anyone have problems getting all the liquids down? Seems that I am always sipping something?

Had mine done on the 2nd. I would like to hear from others that recently had it done. I get confused with the eating schedule a little.Seems like I am forever sipping something. Try to get the Water down is a chore and takes forever. Question.... because I have to eat sooo slow how do you have time in the morning before work to eat? What do you take for lunch? Also what Protein do others recommend. I have read so much information. I think the I am making it more difficult then it is. I hope so. Good luck to all.

I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 and I am 1 1/2 hrs away. Probably wont get much sleep to nite. Wonder...how long before you plan to go back to work?

Hi, Started Optifast last Tuesday. First day was a slight challenge. I was hungry. Getting use to it. I think I may be having problem with my gall bladder. Wish I knew. I cant postpone my Sept2 procedure. Thanks for all the support.
