  1. Wow...this is me!! I too was banded June 06 and am also below goal because of being unable to eat. Live on mashed potatoes n milk! Then there are days that wont work either. Throw up even liquids alot. Im gonna go have a complete unfill..I only have.3ccs right now, but still unable to eat. I dont really puke though...just lean over the toilet and it all just comes out. I am sick and tired of feelling sick and tired. Yeah..Im skinny now..but my hair is falling out and looks like straw and Im pale and look sick...basically like a bulimic which is what the band made me. Would I do it again...HELL YEAH!!!

  2. Sounds just like me. I expell almost everything I eat...and sometimes even just fluids. I drink something...lean over the toilet and out it comes. I have very few things I know I can tolerate. I have the bad problem of being able to tolerate alcohol when nothing else works and have therefore found myself drinking too often. I look sick as hell...too skinny..hair falling out..SICK TO DEATH OF BEING SICK ALL THE TIME!!! I can soooo relate.

  3. I am the same way. All day long I am leaning over the toilet. I eat..or even drink many times...and within minutes I am bringing it back up. NOT vomiting or PBing..just lean over and out it comes. I am banded 1 1/2 yrs. ..started at 236 and am at 144 now..and going down. Not because I want to but I cant help it. I only have .30 ccs in my band and I really think it is just placed too high. My hair is falling out and so thin and crappy looking...Im gonna try a complete unfill and see what happens. Hope to God this gets better cuz I look awful. I can see I look pale and sickly. Not what I was after when I got this band!! Hope all your issues will resolve...good luck!!

  4. Glad to hear I'm not alone. It takes me all morning reheating my coffee to get a cup down. Cold liquids usually come back up after a few swallows and most days I live on Cream of Mushroom Soup. Some days are better though and I can eat solid foods....after PB'ing the first couple bites. I have been like this since my last fill...I am at 1.8cc's. I was really hoping to stick it out and maybe it would loosen without an unfill, but after 3 months of this I am ready to take a little out. On the up side...I am losing about.5lbs a day.....down to a size 10 jeans! WHHOOO HOOOO!!

  5. I had my first fill on Monday and even though I feel restriction now, I am still hungry all the time. I am only able to eat a few bites of anything now, but about 15 minutes after those bites, I am hungry again...to the point of my stomach growling. Its really frustrating.

  6. Oh, thank God for you guys!!! I have been so worried and feeling like such a failure and it helps so much to know that I am not the only one and that this will likely be better after a fill. Thank you all for your support....I dont know what I would do without this site.

  7. I am sooo frustrated. My hubby and I were banded at the same time (4 weeks ago) and he is feeling very restricted and unable to eat much at all. I, however, am hungry all the time and able to eat large amounts without feeling full. I am aware of the band...unable to eat things like white bread or potatoes, but other things are no problem and I have to eat nearly as much as before banding to feel satisfied and then I am hungry again soon after. I am so afraid that my band slipped or something. I lost 11 lbs the first week or two and now I am losing nothing, which doesn't surprise me due to the amount of food I am able to eat. Did anyone else have this problem or should I be worried? I just feel like I am failing again.

  8. Where is your port located? Mine is so far up on my left side, just under my ribs and very close to the surface. It sticks out so far it is visible thru my shirt and bothers my very badly. Every day by early evening I am in pain all around and under my port area. I am only 9 days out, so is this normal? I am really worried about its placement!

  9. AMEN!!!! Did you read my post about Ann Marie?? What a nightmare. However....I LOVED Dr. de la Garza and his Monterrey staff...wonderful, all of them. They were so great to perform surgery despite the fact that Ann Marie had NEVER contacted them about it or us.

  10. ;) OH Diva..I can totally relate. I had never been put under until my surgery on Friday and was very nervous about it. But it was sooo easy.. I had just a little something to relax me before surgery, then was wheeled in and had to transfer myself to the OR table. The anesthesiologist put a little something in my IV and before I knew it I was OUT. Dont remember anything else but waking in recovery.....what a breeze!! So..dont panic...all will go smooth. Also...I have been nearly pain free the whole time other than a little shoulder gas pain for the first three days. Good luck on your road to a new, better life!!:)

  11. Ok folks, hubby and I made the trip to Monterrey MX on Thursday. We get to the airport and nobody is there to pick us up, so we wait around for a couple hours, starving because we were still NPO since midnight for all our labwork. We finall get the pesos to dollars thing kinda figured out so we take a taxi...dear Lord...a taxi...during rush hour thru Monterrey. THat ride took about an hour. So when we got to the hospital we had information sent us to the Hotel floor, where the sweet little receptionist cannot find our names on any paperwork. She calls Dr. de le Garza at home and gives me the phone. I tell him my and my husbands names and that we are scheduled for surgery in the morning. He to me he had never even heard our names before. Turns out the bimbo we we working with in the US didnt sent the Dr. any info at all. And we had already paid her $4000 deposit. Dr. de la Garza was fantastic though. He called the poor excuse for and assistant he has here in the states and got all our info, had his very nice assistant in Mexico take us to admissions, then on to the ER to do all our labs and schedules us in for a last minute band for both of us. HOW AWESOME IS HE!!!! SO,...in spite of the huge, very scaryF-up on Belighters part, Dr. dela Garza made everything right and all went perfectly. If only the contacts in the US were half as eager to take care of their customers as the contacts in Mexico are this would have been an alla round great experience. BUT...at least we are in bandland now!!! I am tripping over 7lbs down since the day we flew out. I want food though....really really bad!!!

  12. My surgery is on Friday in Mexico and my husband and I have not been put on any kind of pre-op diet. I am a little concerned about this because everyone else I have heard from was put on at least a week of pre op liquids. Kinda strange, huh! Good luck with your pre-op diet and upcoming surgery:) :) :)

  13. Wow Hunny...you are very brave. My hubby and I get banded on the 23rd in Mexico by a Dr. who has done thousands of bands. Like alot of banders, we could have afforded to self pay here in the states, but chose Mexico because of the surgeon experience. Also....we just called to ask about this for the first time about 10 days ago and our surgery is ten days away. I don't think I have the patience for a 6 month diet before surgery......I want it done yesterday. Good luck....I am sure everything will go perfectly smooth for you.

  14. Help!! My hubby and I are scheduled for surgery on June 23rd and have our plane tickets and everything and still have not recieved any pre-op diet advice from the our Dr. or patient rep here in the states. We are going to Dr. de la Garza in Monterrey..anyone know what the pre op diet for there is so we can get started??
