5 Months Since Lap Band Surgery And Only Lost 30
That is almost 3kg a month. I can't see why anyone would complain about that.

They Called Me A Milf!!!
I do too, it's crude and disrespectful but it is still a major compliment.

Settle Our Food Argument!
Bubbles don't stand the freezing process - so even if it was carbonated originally it isn't after it has been frozen.

The Lap Band Really Works!!!!
It is unlikely that you will continue to lose at this rate, that would be unrealistic and unhealthy. It is natural for your weight loss to slow down and when it does you shouldn't get depressed or despondent. What you are having now is a head start or boost. Normal weight loss should be 1 - 2lb per week. You may sometimes lose more than that but you shouldn't expect to on a regular basis. Congrats on your weight lost so far.

Other Meats Like Ham Or Pork After Lap Band Surgery ?
I can eat most meats if they are roasted. Then they are usually OK but really dense things e.g pork chops give me problems.

Pre Lap Band Surgery Diet
On my preop phase there was no "tinkering" allowed. It had to be a meal replacement shake twice a day and some plain low carb veggies in the evening and that was it. I got through it the same way as most other people by keeping the end goal in sight. I have never managed to stick to a meal replacement diet before but this time it was easier as I knew it wasn't going to be forever.

Nsv I Have To Share
Congrats. I am sure that made you feel great.

How Does Emptying My Lap Band Help With Pouch Dilation?
I actually think the opposite is true. People I know who have had to have an unfill for whatever reason say that it is really hard to get back to the level of restriction they had previously even with the same amount or more fill.

2 Weeks Post Lap Band Surgery And It's Time To Eat!
Eat yes. Eat junk no. Stick with healthy food. You need to get your mind back in the right place.Even when you have a fill the band won't do everything as it is only a tool. You are still in charge of what you choose to put in your mouth so the sooner you get used to that and the sooner you start making healthy choices and taking some responsibility the better and the more likely you are to be successful.

Want A Lap Band Unfill
I agree. Bands should not be adjusted at whim just so a person can eat more. But if you cannot eat meat then you are way too tight and need to rethink the way that you are using your band.

Help!!! I Cant Swallow My Spit After 4th Lap Band Fill!
Yes you need to see your Dr pretty urgently. In the meantime suck crushed ice - it helps to reduce the swelling.

What About Lap Band Liquid Diet For People Lactose Intolerant Or Allergic To Dairy And Soy?
You will probably have to have homemade veggie soups with lentils or chickpeas or similar added for protein.

Lets Talk Water, Water, Water!
It doesn't have to be water. Other fluids count too - most nutritionists forget to mention that. I only drink water when it is really hot, other than that I drink tea, no sugar and a dash of fat free milk. I am not dehydrated.

Insurance Forever????
Whilst I feel sorry for you having a problem with a lapband is no different to having any other kind of medical emergency. Dr's are in business to make money, they cannot operate for free. The US healthcare system has always confused and confounded me and I am glad that I am not part of it. I would have thought that it was essential to have some form of medical insurance - if you are not insured how do they treat emergency medical situations? I am lucky that living in Aus we have a public healthcare system. However it is underfunded, overloaded and very slow.I know if there was an emergency situation and I wasn't insured I would get treatment. For anything elective the wait can be months or years. Therefore I keep my insurance and make sure that it covers my band. Being insured is a bit of a double edged sword - it means you get treated quicker but you also end up paying a fortune in out of pocket expenses because of the difference in the scheduled fee and the actual fee the Dr's charge. I hope you manage to sort something out and get some relief soon.

Could I Have Hypothyroidism?
I'm always cold - probably because the layer of fat is no longer there to keep me warm. I often have brain fog but i think that when you are in your 20 - 30s it is due to Mummy brain and after that it is due to menopause. Most of the time I have zero libido - I think that is due to having been married for 18 years( If Shemar Moore came knocking I might feel a bit different). I think a lot of the things you are experiencing are normal. Most people don't have heaps of energy and a libido like a rampant rabbit etc etc. Advertising and Tv make us expect life to be a lot different to the reality. We lead busy lives and that in itself makes a person tired. If your thyroid has been tested and the results are normal then they probably are normal.

Why The Closer I Get To Lap Band Surgery The Bigger I Get ?
You are probably eating a lot more than you realise, plus it is not the amount you eat but what you eat that also makes a difference. You are probably subconciously doing it as you know your surgery is coming up. I wouldn't stress too much as help is at hand, that is why you are getting the band.

What If I Get This!!!!!!
Go and get a shot of maxolon or similar from your Dr to prevent you throwing up.

Reasonable Lap Band Restriction
I actually find a soft poached egg on a slice of toasted wholemeal bread is a really satisfying breakfast. Mixing protein and carbs for me is more satisfying than just eating protein. Carbs are not the devil that many people make them out to be and they do have their place in a healthy balanced diet.

"you're Not Going To Lose Any More Weight, Right?"
That is bad!
-
New Cardinal Rule!!
It is a breakfast drink in a box. Tastes like milkshake but also has added fibre. Don't know if you have them in the US , I'm in Aus.

Sick After First Lap Band Fill - Is This Normal??
Sounds like a coincidence.
-
New Cardinal Rule!!
Next time you need to eat on the run grab and Up and Go. They are a much safer bet.

First Time Stuck....ughhhhhh
Meatballs aren't really mushy.Mushies are things like mashed vegies, tinned fish etc. Meatballs are really dry and hard . Try sucking on crushed ice, if you are swollen it will help to make the swelling go down.

Not Drinking All Of My Shakes
Try a different shake. Phone your Dr's and ask for an alternative

Anyone Else Have A Lap Band Surgeon's Office That Is Not Working With You?
I thought it was common knowledge that the medical profession always does things to suit them selves not their patients!
