  1. hey everyone! Sorry I haven't been on here. I'll be there on the 4th, but a reminder would be helpful.

I'm going to try to get a fill soon because I've not only been able to eat too much, but I've been on steroids for a few weeks due to an eye issue...both are causing me to gain a few pounds. Nothing drastic, but enough to bum me out. I also have to get my ass to the gym again! I'm a slacker.

Looking forward to seeing you all.

    Theresa

  2. Hey guys! May 1 works for me too...even though the time conflicts with The Amazing Race (my favorite show). I'll give it up that night just for you. I missed the last get-together, so I'm really looking forward to this one. I am on a long-term plateau, but still only about 20 pounds from goal.

I'll see if my daughter is available to join us that night. She's down about 65 pounds since her surgery in October.

  3. Wow...nobody has posted on here in the past month! Come out of hiding and talk to me. Big news: My 19-year-old daughter was banded this afternoon by Dr. K. I'm jealous that she is getting this early start on the life change. I keep saying that my only regret about getting the band is that I didn't do it sooner. She's in the normal amount of pain, so it's looking good. Maybe she'll join us at our next Red Robin outing.

  4. I've been doing two zumba classes a week for about four months now (in conjunction with Water aerobics twice a week and weightlifting twice a week). It is my favorite workout! I still haven't gotten through an entire class without making a mistake, but no one cares. There are people of all shapes and sizes doing it, and yes, there are people with no rythm or coordination as well. They stress that as long as you move and have fun, you are doing it right. I can't wait for school to be out for the summer so I can hit more of the classes offered.

  5. Ok, so my husband insisted that I go get a fill because he knows that I am dying here. So I got a flight for the 27th, I will land at 9:15 and you can pick me up anytime it is convenient and my appointment is at 11:30. Then my flight out is at 3. Thanks so much for putting up with my on again off again issues!

No problem at all. I will PM you with my phone number in case your plans go awry. Otherwise, I will plan on being at the top of the escalator when you get off the train, holding a sign with your name on it, since we don't know what each other looks like.

  6. I'm one of the Kirshenbaum patients mentioned by the previous poster. I paid $9995 which included everything, including the first three months of fills. After that, fills are only $15. He's great. Luckily, I live in Colorado, but the previous poster is right...people fly in from all over to see him. On Southwest airlines, it's pretty cheap to get here.

  7. So I really want to work out the 27th thing, but all they have are morning appointments. I would hate to make you spend all day out and about. If you aren't against picking me up early you can just drop me at the office, and then you can pick me up on your way to the airport later so you don't have to hang with me for 6 hours. What time do you need to be to the airport by? that way I can try and get a flight around the same time :) I can get a flight that comes in around 10 so I can get to my 11:30 appt with Tom, and then I can just find a flight that leaves around the same time as yours. Thanks!!!

Marie, Whatever time works for you is fine with me. I only live 20 minutes from the airport, so it's really not a big deal to drive you both ways and then go again later. I don't live far from Dr. K's office.

  8. This appears to be a predominately female thread but since Dr. K is the common denominator I had to share my excitement with those who know what I'm about to embark upon.

That makes me wonder if there are more women banded, or if women are just more chatty...well, I know we're chatty, but on websites like this. Hmmm.

When you make your plans to hit town, let us know and we'll roll out the welcome wagon with a light dinner the evening before your surgery. We like to go out.
