    Dealing with skin, body issues...

Well dear we were literally the same starting size, currently are the same size, dealing with the same issues and I live about 45 miles north of you! How is that for coincidence. I will tell you I have done alot of research on having a TT done and was also worried that insurance didn't cover it that I would be SOL. However, Altru and Fargo plastic surgery are about 3 thousand MORE than a very good doctor I have found in Bismarck. It is Dr. Beckers plastic surgery institute in Bismarck/Mandan. He has been very good to answer my questions and send me alot of information. Check him out!
  2. I have literally had a cry fest over this very issue. I am having a hard time trusting people (especially men) because I am treated so different it makes me sick. Men and women who I have known for 3 years are suddenly interested in becomming my friend. I even had a girl say hey we should go shopping now that we shop in the same stores. WTH!!!! Yes, I agree I enjoy shopping alot more now and probably wouldn't have went before but I still don't want to go now just because if she didn't want to be my friend before why would I want to be her friend now. As far as men go well I understand them not being attracted to me before but the fact that no one even asked my name and suddenly they want to know all about me well it makes me pretty hesitant as to what kind of person they really are. I suppose I will always have this reservation, I sure hope not though.
  3. I haven't been on BC for over a year because I had no need to be on it. Well, now that I want to go back on it I am a little nervous. I DON'T want to gain a bunch of weight back because of BC. Do any of you ladies have any suggestions as to a type that worked for you with minimal weight gain?

    Nausea and a fill....

I would check with your doctor. I have never been sick after a fill. You might want to make sure its not something else completely unrelated with the band.

    Birth Control

I was thinking about trying the patch but my gf said it leaves a sticky mess?
  7. I have a constant pain on my left side and have been in the ER for it twice but I keep getting the "we can't find anything" speech. So?????? I guess I better do some investigating on this diverticulitis?
  8. I check papers all day long for spelling mistakes. I am really not into bugging other adults about their spelling. I am here to help in other ways......providing support and advice.
  9. My doctor also suggests 4-6 weeks between fills. They also ask if I am getting hungry between meals and if so I probably needed more of a fill. However, I was SOOO tight I was having problems and I was still thinking I was hungry between meals. It was all head hunger though and then I realized I wasn't able to eat enough at meals to stay full so then it was no longer head hunger but actual hunger and I had to actually let me band out some. So all I can say is follow what YOU think is best for you because each person is so different.
  10. Yeah I am constantly cold! I fought with my boss all year long about the temperature in my classroom! I wanted it hot and he wanted it cold! It was a constant arguement haah!
  11. I have to agree with Jachut on this one. I think it sounds rather mean too! Why wouldn't you be happy for your friend, you obviously know what its like to try and fail something repeatedly so why would you want your friend to go through that as well? Lap band isn't technically the easy way out, it is a tool but it is ALOT easier than doing it alone, and I will argue any day of the week with anyone on that subject. I say be happy that will have someone in your life that will be going through the same thing that you are. I think Jachut and I can honestly say that we would recommend this to anyone who needs it even if they haven't wasted their money on every diet under the sun!
  12. TKE I forwarded your post to a bariatric doctor here and she said that your trainer is pretty much dead on! Thanks for posting this!

    What is this?

I had the same problems caused by being too full. The lump in the throat feeling is caused by your esophogas having to work too hard to try to get food down through the band. Therefor, it causes it to overwork and become inflammed. Anyways, I was told that if this goes on for too long you can stretch your pouch. If you have the YELLOW< GREEN<RED chart those symptoms are located on the RED ZONE.
  15. I would say absolutaly not. I was told nothing over 10lbs for the first 60 days. I am guessing your lawn mower is over 10lbs or are you using a riding lawn mower?
  16. Woo Hoo that is pretty cool! Good for you!

    Weight loss question

Weight loss varies with each person. The first few months I lost anywhere between 10-20lbs a month and now I am lucky if I lose a couple of lbs a month. It gets harder to lose but it is so much easier to keep it off. As far as being 3 weeks out of surgery, let your body heal and then worry about losing. Patience is a virtue that we are not very good with when we are trying to lose;) it's human nature. Hang in there.

    Acid Reflex?

You are lucky that you can wait until morning to "unload". I had the same problem except I was actually waking up with vomit on my pillow and bed. Acid Reflux (GERD) was the cause of my problems. I had to start taking an antacid around 8pm everynight and there can be no eating after that. I also put a small pillow under my chest only about 2 inches thick and slept with my head higher up. This helped for the most part but I recently had .25 taken out of my band and BANG the acid reflux has went down about 80%. What a relief. If you google GERD if will give you some suggestions.

    Fabulous February Bandsters check in

Well I was experiencing a whole bunch of symptoms from having too tight of a band but I refused to acknowledge them! So needless to say the last two weeks were rather rough. However, I finally went in and hand a 1/4th of a cc taken out and BANG much better today. It is funny what a little bit added or removed can do for you! Other than that all is well and I hope it is great for the rest of you also!
