What a difference! Congratulations, you look great! Im 4 months post op and lost 80 lb. Im hoping to be as successful as you and reach that 100 lb mark by month 5.

Wow you are rocking it too ! You are doing the right things as well .. I'm sure you will reach your goal ... I just wish I didn't have another 90-100 to lose .. lol .. But I'm determined.. eating right, lifting weights, and swimming 3 times a week (since I can't walk - bad knees) I'm sure to do all I can to reach the next goal by this time next year .. or sooner ! Good luck with your success !

That's great news ! Congrats ! Keep it up.. remember when it comes to cheating or eating bad food choices.. its that behavior that got us here .. I hated to give in to having the surgery because I felt like a failure plus I had to pay 18k out of pocket for surgery so there's no way I'm messing this up :) Hang in there .. it gets easier as time goes on... just gotta be creative with foods and flavors ... Good luck !

good for you good job im 20 days post op i lost 35 pounds .. i hope to be as successful

  3. Well it's a small milestone but I've officially lost 100 lbs since surgery on July 1. I was 441 then and now I'm 341 as of Dec 1. Overall for the year that puts me at 132lbs lost! I've been eating right, no cheating, working with weights for my arms and just started swimming 2 wks ago. I go swimming 4 days a week for 30 mins. I still have a long way to go but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel [emoji3]Screenshot_20191122-130122_Messages.jpeg

    I lost a pound this week....told you the stall wouldn't last! 😉

It won't last for you either, texasnewf!

Congrats looly ! Keep it up ! I too finished the stall a couple days after this post (7 day stall) and I lost 7 lbs since then. Down to 373 now! Just have to stick with plan I guess :)

  5. Had my surgery July 1. I was losing weight like crazy. I had one 4 day stall in August- not too bad. Then Sept rolls in, Already lost 58 lbs since July 1. I stalled from Sept 5 to Sept 12 (7 days) then I only lost 2 lbs ! Then stalled again from Sept 13 to Sept 20 and lost another 2 lbs this morning .. I hope it gets better tomorrow and next week. I am eating exactly same diet religiously 650-700 calories per day and tons of Water (over 100oz) , and 75-85g Protein every day . On another note I have been a lot more active and doing things around the garage and yard, cutting tree limbs, etc. I know I'm building muscle and my pants are getting more slack. I am thinking about getting into swimming at the gym to get some cardio in. Anyone have suggestions on how to keep the stalls from happening ? Thanks !

I just hit my 5-month mark and stalled for almost two weeks. Keep following the plan didn't look at the scale for a week. Noticed yesterday that I'd lost 7 pounds last week. So as everyone else says to follow the plan the weight will come off. Look for now weight wins. Went from 36 down to 34 without any weight loss.

Thanks for the info. I broke the stall a few days ago and already lost 4 more lbs.. It was discouraging being in a stall but I guess as long as we realize it will happen from time to time we can deal with it.. Sticking with the plan and Never Give Up !

Yes. After 7 weeks I lost 43 pounds and stalled for a full 3 weeks. I was so stressed out. Hang in there, you are doing great!! 😋

Wow, I didn't know a stall could last that long. Thanks for letting me know .. I know it's depressing after 5 days, I can't imagine for 3 weeks.. Here's hoping to success for you, me , everyone !

  8. It's been about 7 weeks since surgery and I've lost 45 lbs and now I've been in a stall for the last 5 days. Hopefully it will get back to normal in a few days., Nothing has changed, I'm still drinking lots of Water, eating same foods.. keeping calories to 650/day as per Docs orders... I guess this is normal for the weight loss ? Your body just readjusting itself ?

Well...I'd say good initiative. But here's the dealio. :( The most calorie dense and craptastically chemical laden portion of chinese takeout is...

    dunh, dunh, dunhhhhh....

    wait for it.

    The Sauce. :(

So by ordering the extra sauce you essentially "super sized" your food.< /span>

An alternative would have been to have it with sauce on the side. Puree the solids with a broth that has a little soy, a little sesame oil, ginger and garlic (all pretty low cal/healthy if you limit the soy and the sesame oil. Then you could add a tablespoon or less of the calorie dense sauce to your puree servings at the time you eat.

In the early days I would buy the ready made sauces that had the fewest calories, carbs, sugar, fat, chemicals and keep them on hand. Then I'd take regular food and just put a teaspoon of the sauce on it--or a tablespoon.

You want your calories as low as possible and the nutrients as HIGH as possible. I call it the calorie bang for the buck.

Oh Darn, Thanks for the info, I hadn't thought about this sauce being high in calories. I thought I was getting a good mix of Protein and vegetables. I guess I'll try it without the sauce. I bet it still tastes good.

  10. Ok, I am being serious. At the end of my first week on pureed foods I was craving the Chinese food flavors. So I ordered chicken and Vegs in brown sauce and asked the lady for extra sauce (I told her I had to put in blender so she laughed and said no problem) Other that it looking strange when all blended it tasted heavenly :) I'm only eating 3 ounces in a meal so I have to put over half of it in the freezer as it will last me over a week. I figure since it's just 3 oz, it can't be too many calories, any thoughts ?

I am 9 days away from RNY, and I have never been on a pureed diet. Are these blended in a blender? So literally you can puree anything? I'm just assuming this list is meals that have been tried and taste good? I'm on 5 day of liquid diet and that list looks so so good. I can't wait to try them out in about 2-3 weeks.

Yes, I was on liquids for 3 weeks and now just started the blender/pureed phase for 3 more weeks before going to normal food. Hope this helps :) I've tried several of the ones on the list and taste great ! good luck ! As for the liquid diet.. All I can say is just stick it out.. its BORING .. but eventually you will taste normal flavors again .. lol

  14. It's hard for sure.. Post Op I wasn't hungry the first 2 weeks.. but now at beginning of 3rd week Im getting hungry. The best advice I can give you is to persevere. You got this ! Think about the success later... I'm down 13 lbs in 13 days already Post-OP.. that's what keeps me going .. I still have 1 more week on liquids.. its killing me but I know if I'm going to be successful that I have to do it by the book.

  15. Yes I guess if we're going to be successful with this we have to embrace BORING .. but it can be done with good food choices and flavors that will make it easier .. I for one can't wait to make some split pea Soup .. one of my all time favorites..
