  1. I went back to work after 1 week, but I do have a desk job.
  2. Had my first fill today and have to say it was not as bad as I was thinking it was going to be...no big deal. Now I figure the real work begins as to finding out what foods cause problems and which don't. Very excited to start this part of my journey.
  3. By Cinco De Mayo I would like to loose 15 lbs. Tif
  4. When I asked my doctor the same question he said there really wasn't a difference. He said that he kinda makes the decision when he gets in there. I have the Lap Band one.
  5. I wait at least 30 minutes.
  6. I always drank alot while eating too....but since having the surgery I try not to even put a drink near me. I put it in the kitchen and force myself to finish eating...wait 30 minutes and then drink. It has only been 21 days since my lap band was put in but I am finding it easier to do. I do have a hard time with the 30 before because with my job I don not always know exactly when I am going to go to lunch...but I do my best. Tif
  7. It is understandable to be scared....but I had the surgery 3 weeks ago (and yes it is still early). I have not slimed (yet), the pb's can be very uncomfortable just try not to eat too much, that is the only time I feel uncomfortable until I pb.
  8. Congratulations!
  9. Mine was inpatient due to my insurance requiring it. The nurses were great!
  10. The sugar free Jello Brand, Chocolate Mint Fudge is awesome! I get to add oatmeal, scrambled eggs and cottage cheese on Tuesday...other than that I have been eating soups (broth or cream), sf jello, sf pudding, sf applesause. So looking forward to Tuesday!
  11. Just hang in there....that is what I am telling myself. Dr Soong has me going to semi soft at the two week mark...do you know what Dr. Teng does?
  12. ebar...it pretty much stops after I eat or drink something, so just a few seconds.
  13. I have heard gurgling (and I am 3 days shy of two weeks post-op) but I mine is just because I am so darn hungry yesterday and today :-)
  14. Congrats on your weight loss, keep up the good work. Tif
  15. Congrats Shanya... so far it has not been too bad, yesterday and today I have been super hungry (they said this would happen with the loss of weight and stomach swelling going down). But I am telling myself to be good and stick with the soups, jello, pudding and it will pay off.
  16. I am only eating what I am suppose to be, have slipped and had a nibble of soft cheese last night. He said I can start eggs, oatmeal and cottage cheese on Tuesday which is the two week mark....I am very excited. Congrats on your loss so far that is very exciting. I can't wait to be under the 200 mark. Yes Dr. Soong gave me his email, he answered either the same day or the next which really suprised me. I go back on March 30th for my first fill.... a little scared but I will handle it.
  17. I would say it is because there is no fill or very little fill in your band.
  18. I have a desk job so I was back to work in a week. Banded March 3rd, 2009 in Las Vegas
  19. I was banded by Dr. Soong in Vegas. Anyone else out there?
  20. I was banded on March 3rd in Las Vegas. Tif
  21. I had my surgery with Dr. Soong on March 3rd, 2009. He was great. And don't let the North Vista Hospital worry you all the staff there were awesome!
  22. Hello BigAl, I went with the band because with everything I read it said less chance of saggy skin, but no guarntees.
  23. Thanks Becky! Definatly never thought I would be excited about that stuff but I am..lol
  24. I was banded on the 3rd. My doctor told me I would be very gassy due to having air filled into my stomach for the surgery. I had a follow up yesterday and told him I was still having alot of gas and he said it was totally normal. So I think you might be gassy no matter what for a bit.
  25. Hello, my name is Tiffany, I am new to the group and live in the Las Vegas area. I was banded on March 3rd, 2009. On my follow up appt with my dr. 3-9 I was down 11 lbs...he did explain once I am out of the liquid phase that is what I should loose in a month (not a week) which I am totally fine with. I choose the lap band for the slower weight loss and thusly hopefully more nutrients and less saggy skin. Next week he said I can add scrambled eggs, cottage cheese and oatmeal to my diet....I have never looked forward to something so much. Thanks for listening.
