    First Fill

I have been lucky. My surgeon did my second fill yesterday and my first one was only a week ago. I have a 10cc band and it has been filled 4cc so far. He told me the next couple of fills will be 1 cc and then he will go to 1/2cc if need be. I feel a little more restriction from the first, but don't think I have reached my "sweet spot" yet. I am excited to get there. My third fill is scheduled for the 15th of June. My surgeon also said that he has never had to fill anyone with my size band more than 7.5cc, so I am excited about that too! Best of Luck to US all!!! Amy:biggrin:

    First Fill

You guys are sooooooooooooo lucky. I had my first fill last Monday, and I feel nothing at all. Still able to eat whatever I want. I called this morning, and I am going back in today for second fill. Hoping this gives me at least a little restricition. Best of Luck to all!! Amy:biggrin:

    Bowel Movements...sorry!!

Yes, very normal! I didn't have a normal bowel movement until about three weeks after surgery. Not my favorite, but it does get better!!!
  6. Hey All, Was banded on the 24th, down 22lbs from highest weight. Pretty happy with that , but now am really starting to get hungry. Don't have my first fill until the 11th of May and I have this feeling I am only going to get more hungry until then. So, a little nervous! Still thrilled with the fact that I did this and am changing my life style. I can at this point eat most foods, try to really watch protions and calories. Hope to feel some restriction after fill. Still sore and surgery was not a piece of cake for me, had a few unexpected complications, BUT I am getting there. Glad to hear you all are doing well too.
  7. I am hoping you are right, but it is just oddd that I didn't really care either way for them before and now I am wanting them A LOT!! Not just simple things either, I want like cake, and cookies. Not really candy. It's weird and I really hope it passes. today is the first day I am pretty much back on normal foods. Amy
  8. Hey all. Is anyone finding that they want food they didn't before their surgery? For example, I wasn't much into sweets but now I seem to crave them. This can't be good, hoping after my first fill I won't crave anymore!!
  9. I have the same feeling by my incision. It's hard right above the scar and to the right. My sister had the same surgery and she says that is where the port is located.........
  10. Well, I am finally back. Some complications during surgery, BUT feeling much better!! Hope all is well with all of you! So glad I did it!! Amy
  11. I was baned on 3/24 and am going through the same thing. Starting to get VERY hungry and I can not get my first fill until May 11. My doctors office says to push the protein and that I will feel A LOT different after first fill. It's normal to be hungry and to even gain a little weight before getting filled or so they say. I am starting to get frustrated as well!!!:glare:

    Count down!!!

Good Luck!!! I know how you are feeling. I was there two weeks ago. Expect some pain when you wake up, it's uncomfortable for a few hours, but I found the worst part was the gas build up in the shoulders from being pumped full of various gases. Walking was the best for me!!! I was very thankful to stay overnight, not that I got much rest but was glad to be taken care of!!!

    No support from husband

YOU have to worry about you!!! He needs to be supportive because if he is not it will be very hard for you to go through this process. It's not easy. I was just banded on March 24th and can't imagine coming home to someone that is not supportive. This tool can and will be very helpful to you, but you have to feel good about it and what it can do for you. Sounds like you do have some supportive people but is it enough considering your husband doesn't? Think the entire process through because from beginning to end you're going to need him! What doesn't he support? I was not prescribed anything while on the liquid diet. It is hard, but eventually you get use to it. I'm in Iowa but here if you need to chat!!! good Luck! Amy
  14. Mary, You not only did good, you did Fantastic!!! I know the feeling except for the fact I have not had surgery yet. I am on the the two week pre-op diet and am having conferences with my students. The parents are bringing in tons of food and I can't eat any of it! I just keep thinking the end result will be great!! I am proud of you and your accomplishment! Keep up the good work!!! Amy:thumbup:

    liquids only -- pre-op diet

I'm getting ready to start my pre-op liquids as well tomorrow. A little nervous but excited too! Just want so badly to get this weight off, so a couple of weeks of nothing but liquids will have to do!!! As for soda and carbonated drinks I was told no more! The carbonation swells the stomach..........

The pre-op diet is required by most surgeons 2 weeks before surgery. It is suppose to help shrink the liver to make the surgery and recovery process smoother. Now all surgeons directions are different, but I am required to be on liquids at this time. Good for you if you get to skip this stage!!! Most people don't!!
