    June 2009 Surgery

June 5th for me also. I'm cautiously excited and nervous.
  3. UPDATED INFO: I did not have to do the 5 year weight loss statement. I had to: 6 month diet with office notes and letter from doctor supervising weight loss-I did Medifast, which sucked but works if you can tolerate it. psych eval-found my psych with google search.-cost me $200 for the testing and report (insurance did not cover, even though THEY require it. Would that be ironic or just stupid?), $10 co-pay nutritional eval-found my nutritionist with google search too. she sends a report to doctor $10 co-pay bariatric rehab class-at the local hospital, about what to expect and exercise. Pretty basic stuff. $55 seminar with surgeons-very informative-no cost Best of luck, and I hope I get approved soon!

    Roof of Mouth

I wonder if this is related: from yahoo answers: Best Answer - Chosen by Voters Hi! I have been in dentistry for over 25 years. Believe it or not this is a common problem. It is a palate irritation due to excessive dry mouth/acid irratation while you sleep. If you are a mouth breaher this is common. And if the room is very dry and warm, that makes it worse. What helps is to keep a bottle of Water near your bed at night. Drink right before and hold in your mouth. If you wake during the night, drink again. First thing when you wake up. During the day keep a bottle of H20 with you at all times and sip it often. Try this for 2-3 days and see if you notice a change. If you have any other questions, please ask. Most people with acid reflux have this because they breath through the mouth at night and the acid does creep up the throat, even if it only the vapors. You can also try sleeping with 1-2 extra pillows to see if this helps as well. Good luck. Marie
  7. I have a chronic issue with this and my gastro doctor had me take miralax twice a day for a while. I take it once a day now, but you have to be patient. Once you start it can take 1 to 3 days to work. once it works, and you take it every day, it will work daily. good luck!
  8. Hi! I didn't know where to post this question, but when you reach your weight goal, what happens then? Is the band left as is, adjusted? What kind of diet do you follow when you get there, same? Thanks for your help! Melliecat
  9. hi, all! Any advice for me? My husband is dead set against me getting a lap band, for all the typical reasons: surgery is dangerous, I will cheat, I will be miserable, blah blah blah. Do I try to convince him, or just go with my instincts and have the band? He said he will support me, whatever my decision. I have no idea how to proceed. Right now I am scheduled for a consultation and have requested the paperwork from doctors for insurance. Thanks for reading my post!

Here are the active ingredients::thumbup: Midol Extended Relief contains naproxen sodium Midol Teen formula contains acetaminophen and pamabrom Midol Cramps and Body Aches contains ibuprofen Midol Menstrual Complete contains acetaminophen, caffeine, and pyrilamine You should probably stay away from Midol. I would try not to take any pain reliever unless your are in dire need. Hope you feel better soon!
  11. My doctor specifically NO DIET, make healthy choices, very small portions but do not make foods off-limits.
  12. As a sufferer of IBS-C (irritable bowel syndrome with constipation) I take Miralax every day. It takes a little time to work, but it works without cramps or other embarassing symptoms. It is tasteless and can be mixed with any liquid. Good luck, and thanks for the heads up or should I say "bottoms up"?:crying:
  13. very funny about denying sex...I will think about that one!
