    Hey JUDE048!

Great news about your mom Jude, and nice to that you have lost some weight. Would you be able to go see Dr. Cobourn soon, or call and ask about your fill. You need to eat something more than soup to keep your strengh up, you don't want to sick yourself now. Will keep you and your mom in our prayers that everything will keep going well for her and for yourself. Look after yourself Maria:)

    Maria's Memo

    Maria's Memo

Of course not Cloe i do not mind you asking. I wish i did have a red convertible I have two daughter's and four grandson's (would love a granddaughter) but nothing seems to be happening in that department, although my youngest daughter would love another child, but is having a hard time getting pregnant. My husband and i just celebrated our fortieth wedding anniversary. I did have pets, i had two cats but the last one Tiger had a stroke in March and never returned home from the vet's (and i still miss him).:think Yes the band holds 10 cc's, and Dr.Cobourn did my fill, you know i have never had a stuck feeling yet, or slimed ( i hope i never do), i don't think it is something i would like to experience. Maria:)

    Argon's Activities

Wheezy, I was told to stay away from white bread, because it is very doughy and hard to digest, some banders cannot tolerate bread of any kind. Myself i have no problem's with whole wheat or rye bread. Having the golf ball thing i expect is not a good thing to have. Maria:)

    Wheezy Whispers-AKA September's Goals

I don't have a structured diet that i follow, i just watch what i eat, and follow the food guidelines for people who are banded. I use the TOPS group for support and encourgement, and i am getting weighed on the same scales each week. Maria:)

    Wheezy Whispers-AKA September's Goals

Wheezy, before i was banded i was going to a weight loss group called T.O.P.S. (taking of pounds sensibly). They had a diet based on 1200 to 1500 cal's. a day or, you could do your own diet, needless to say i was not very succussful at it. After banding i continued to go there for the support, and for the use of there scales, this way i am still accountable, it helps because we all give each other support. Now i try to stay within a 1000 cals. per day which seems to work for me. As for the multivitamin i have never found a liquid one, i was crushing them, but they were nasty to take that way, now i cut them in halve and that is much easier for me. Maria:)

Hi Wheezy, I wanted Irishrose as my handle, irish because i am irish of course, and Rose because that was my mom's name, but it was already taken, so i went with the next best thing. I have to say although i have been told Irishmist is a great tasting liqueur, i have giving it as gifts often enough. Myself i have never tasted it, i dont drink ( told you i was boring):couch2:.LOL I love it that i am Irish. Maria:)

    Maria's Memo

Hi Argon, I don't measure quantity's, as soon as i feel full i stop, so far it is working for me, i have only had the one fill so far, 4cc's and i am doing okay with that, i hope for another while yet. Yea! everything green on St.Patrick's day LOL.:couch2: Maria:D

    Maria's Memo

    Toronto clinic

Andree, yes the clinic's will put you on two or three week diet before surgery, this is to reduce the fat in your liver, it makes it easier for the surgeon, to reach your stomach he has to move the liver, and when it is lighter it is easier to move. As for cancelling the surgery, that i have no information on, maybe someone else has the information for you. Maria:)

For VG 10 cc Bandsters ONLY

I have the 10cc also, my first fill at six weeks was 4cc's and it was enough for me, it seems to me everyone has a different level they need to reach before they have enough restriction. Your idea of having your fill done under fluro is a good one, it may help you to accomplish the fill level that you are satisfied with. Good luck Maria:)

    pre op diet help!!!DRINKING..gulp gulp!

Susoue, depends on the doctor, some of us had to do Optifast for a two or three week period, some had to do yogurt and cottage cheese. Not every doctor works the same. Where are you been banded?. Maria:)

    Another Canadian, eh

I had the same experience as Cloe the pain was localized, i did have an uncomfortable feeling in the chest area, which they said was just from gas.other than that i was pretty much okay. I did not have to take any of the pain medication at all during recovery. I went back to work after one week. Maria:)
