  1. Are you having to go through the supervised diet?

I had to do a 6 month supervised diet and all kind of stuff that was required by my ins. Dont get discouraged!! The staff is so great at helping make sure you get everything you need to get your ins approval.

When you do get to the 2 week preop diet, beware it is hard but it is only 2 weeks and you can do it. That first week is the hardest. I was always starving and just drinking Protein shakes while trying to feed my family. And my kids are young and they would complain about what I made for them. I know one day I went off because i was so grouchy from eating nothing and they started complaing about the food. I used their Protein Shakes. They are nice and thick.

  2. I grew up in Mendon, but live in Quincy now. Are they going to John Wood or QU? Both great schools!

I didnt have any complications at all after first having it. Actually I havent had any complications at all. The only time I did have a problem was when I was pregnant. I was having trouble with getting enough food in and too much throwing up. So I had to have some Fluid taken out.

My surgery was on a Thursday and I was out and about the following day. I had to have someone drive me, but was feeling great. Was back to work on Monday.

  3. I have lost 170lbs. I do have problems eating some foods, but that is because I choose to keep my band on the tight side. It is all preference and for me, this works. Granted I have been thinking of having some taken out because I have been weight lifting and I need more calories in order to build the muscle that I want. I can not get the required calories in for that.

That preop diet can be a bear. Once you get past the first week, it does get easier.

  4. Surgery was December of 2009. Doing great. Been at goal weight for a while now, actually below it. As weird as it is, I think maintaing weight is almost harder than the losing part. My bmi is in a healthy range (23.?) and my body fat percent is around 21%. Just had a Tummy Tuck a month ago and feeling great. Very happy with my decision to have the band!

  5. I just had a Tummy Tuck 4 weeks ago today. That first week was a bit hard. But to tell you the truth it wasnt near as bad as I was expecting it to be. I was on a lot of good drugs and I slept through about 3 days. My husband tells me I would wake and talk a bit and then fall back asleep mid sentence. I was finally more alert and remember things about a week after surgery. My biggest problem was the depression that hit. Its hard going from being extremely active to not being able to do to anything. Please go outside and sit for a bit. I wish I would have at least gone outside to get out of the house.

Yep, you can take care of 'personal' needs. I even started my period 5 days after surgery, was that fun!

I went back to mild cardio after 2 weeks and have been feeling great. I still have a few limitations, but definitely feel like myself again.

Best of luck and yes it is worth it!
