Hmmm good question. I know I had my lapband surgery on dec 17 and had wisdom tooth surgery on dec 30. Yes I had to be completely put out in the hospital for my wisdom teeth. Both surgeons approved this.
Best of luck

Thought I would post some progress pics of my Tummy Tuck. I am loving it and so happy that I did it! Completely worth the pain and money!
The garmet has to stay on for another week and a half. Right now it feels so much better to have it on that I'm not sure I can completely go without it once 6 weeks hits.

Are you having to go through the supervised diet?
I had to do a 6 month supervised diet and all kind of stuff that was required by my ins. Dont get discouraged!! The staff is so great at helping make sure you get everything you need to get your ins approval.
When you do get to the 2 week preop diet, beware it is hard but it is only 2 weeks and you can do it. That first week is the hardest. I was always starving and just drinking Protein shakes while trying to feed my family. And my kids are young and they would complain about what I made for them. I know one day I went off because i was so grouchy from eating nothing and they started complaing about the food. I used their Protein Shakes. They are nice and thick.

I grew up in Mendon, but live in Quincy now. Are they going to John Wood or QU? Both great schools!
I didnt have any complications at all after first having it. Actually I havent had any complications at all. The only time I did have a problem was when I was pregnant. I was having trouble with getting enough food in and too much throwing up. So I had to have some Fluid taken out.
My surgery was on a Thursday and I was out and about the following day. I had to have someone drive me, but was feeling great. Was back to work on Monday.

I completely felt that way. I weigh less now than I did at 12!! I have always been big and never would have imagined myself being skinny. Even calling myself skinny seems out of this world to me.
But it can and will happen for you!!

are you by Macomb area?
Close...Im in Quincy.
Its nice the dr comes to carthage for fills once a month. Sucks to have to drive all that way just for a fill then turn around and come home. Granted I would stop off in Springfield for some shopping.

What part in Illinois are you in? I'm 2 1/2 hours west of Clinton. Sucks to have such a drive, but I do love it there.

Dissolvable stitches in all

I have lost 170lbs. I do have problems eating some foods, but that is because I choose to keep my band on the tight side. It is all preference and for me, this works. Granted I have been thinking of having some taken out because I have been weight lifting and I need more calories in order to build the muscle that I want. I can not get the required calories in for that.
That preop diet can be a bear. Once you get past the first week, it does get easier.

Surgery was December of 2009. Doing great. Been at goal weight for a while now, actually below it. As weird as it is, I think maintaing weight is almost harder than the losing part. My bmi is in a healthy range (23.?) and my body fat percent is around 21%. Just had a Tummy Tuck a month ago and feeling great. Very happy with my decision to have the band!

I just had a Tummy Tuck 4 weeks ago today. That first week was a bit hard. But to tell you the truth it wasnt near as bad as I was expecting it to be. I was on a lot of good drugs and I slept through about 3 days. My husband tells me I would wake and talk a bit and then fall back asleep mid sentence. I was finally more alert and remember things about a week after surgery. My biggest problem was the depression that hit. Its hard going from being extremely active to not being able to do to anything. Please go outside and sit for a bit. I wish I would have at least gone outside to get out of the house.
Yep, you can take care of 'personal' needs. I even started my period 5 days after surgery, was that fun!
I went back to mild cardio after 2 weeks and have been feeling great. I still have a few limitations, but definitely feel like myself again.
Best of luck and yes it is worth it!

Right after being banded, all I wanted was a big ole greasey cheese burger and fries. You know the kind you would get at a bar/restaurant? And the first summer after being banded, I would have killed for a grilled burger with a huge piece of home grown Tomato.
I no longer eat anything fried or greasey. Its amazing how your system reacts to that type of food when it is not use to it.

2 or 3 times a week. Make sure to give yourself a day or two in between doing them. Believe me, you will want a day or two rest. Wow, they can hurt for days!

I shoot for 100 grams a day.

I have a positive outlook on life and everything I do. I am not longer a pessimist. I have a drive in me that I love and I am determined to accomplish anything I put my mind to.
I know that if I was able to lose all that weight and become a health nut, I can achieve anything.

Yep, I have the same problems. Although if something is giving me issues, I immediately go and throw it up.
-
It is worth it! You will get through it and look back and not even remember it being that bad.

Buy some FroYo, its just as good. My biggest problem is ice cream too!

Surgery can do weird things to a body. I had surgery on the 10 and have had af twice in 2 weeks after that. That was after I just had it a week before surgery.
-
I try to get at least 100 grams a day. For muscle building purposes, you need 1 grams for every pound you weigh. So I really should be taking in 160 grams, but its hard to get that much in.

I would have to agree on having the baby first.
However, I got pregnant 4 months after being banded. We had to do IUI for each of our kids due to male issues.
