    Down Time

I agree, that first week was hard and I was worthless. Spent my day in our recliner asleep. Plus that first week I had to walk with a walker. The second week was a bit better, but still rough. I finally started feeling like myself between week 2 and 3. Crazy how that skin really held me back. I am now more comfortable in my own skin and actually feel skinny.

    Excess Skin

I did everything I could to try and help with the skin. I took all my vitamins, worked out like crazy which included cardio and weights. In the end, the tummy just wasnt bouncing back. Granted I have 3 kids all a c-section too. So that didnt help. But I just had a tummy tuck a little over a month ago and I am super happy I did. It is nice to be rid of the excess skin.

    I Feel Like I Don't Belong.

I am one of those who doesnt measure food, I dont count calories, but I do watch what I eat and work out 4/5 days a week. I dont want to feel like I am a slave to food or what I'm eating. I am one of those whose band is on the tight side, but I am planning on having a bit removed as I am working on building muscle and can not do that without the proper calories.

Do Your Fills Take Awhile To Kick In?

It always seemed that my fills would take a week or two before they would 'kick in'. It was so strange.

    Hate This Sh*t

It gets easier, I promise!! I have all kinds of stuff in the house that I no longer eat, but my family does. It doesnt bother me any more.

    Bcbsil

I had them and it took less than 2 weeks to get my approval. Good luck!

1 Month Post Op Tummy Tuck

Thank you girls!! I cant believe at how incredible Im feeling. I have been back at the gym doing light cardio for about 3 weeks now and added some weight lifting a couple weeks ago. I make sure it is nothing that is going to use my abs.
  12. I eat dark chocolate when Im wanting some.
  13. Hmmm good question. I know I had my lapband surgery on dec 17 and had wisdom tooth surgery on dec 30. Yes I had to be completely put out in the hospital for my wisdom teeth. Both surgeons approved this. Best of luck

    So What's For Dinner Tonight

I made the family chicken alfredo. Ohh it smelled so good. However, I had tuna salad and cucumbers. Oh and my nightly Protein shake.
  15. Are you having to go through the supervised diet? I had to do a 6 month supervised diet and all kind of stuff that was required by my ins. Dont get discouraged!! The staff is so great at helping make sure you get everything you need to get your ins approval. When you do get to the 2 week preop diet, beware it is hard but it is only 2 weeks and you can do it. That first week is the hardest. I was always starving and just drinking Protein shakes while trying to feed my family. And my kids are young and they would complain about what I made for them. I know one day I went off because i was so grouchy from eating nothing and they started complaing about the food. I used their Protein Shakes. They are nice and thick.
  16. I grew up in Mendon, but live in Quincy now. Are they going to John Wood or QU? Both great schools! I didnt have any complications at all after first having it. Actually I havent had any complications at all. The only time I did have a problem was when I was pregnant. I was having trouble with getting enough food in and too much throwing up. So I had to have some Fluid taken out. My surgery was on a Thursday and I was out and about the following day. I had to have someone drive me, but was feeling great. Was back to work on Monday.
  17. I completely felt that way. I weigh less now than I did at 12!! I have always been big and never would have imagined myself being skinny. Even calling myself skinny seems out of this world to me. But it can and will happen for you!!
  18. Close...Im in Quincy. Its nice the dr comes to carthage for fills once a month. Sucks to have to drive all that way just for a fill then turn around and come home. Granted I would stop off in Springfield for some shopping.
  19. What part in Illinois are you in? I'm 2 1/2 hours west of Clinton. Sucks to have such a drive, but I do love it there.
  20. Dissolvable stitches in all
  21. I have lost 170lbs. I do have problems eating some foods, but that is because I choose to keep my band on the tight side. It is all preference and for me, this works. Granted I have been thinking of having some taken out because I have been weight lifting and I need more calories in order to build the muscle that I want. I can not get the required calories in for that. That preop diet can be a bear. Once you get past the first week, it does get easier.
  22. Completely possible....and I would know! Started out at a tight 28!! And now I fit in a loose 6! In fact, look at my avatar. That is me at a size 6 with my 28s on.
  23. Surgery was December of 2009. Doing great. Been at goal weight for a while now, actually below it. As weird as it is, I think maintaing weight is almost harder than the losing part. My bmi is in a healthy range (23.?) and my body fat percent is around 21%. Just had a tummy tuck a month ago and feeling great. Very happy with my decision to have the band!
  24. Yep, I went through there. Great staff!
  25. I just had a tummy tuck 4 weeks ago today. That first week was a bit hard. But to tell you the truth it wasnt near as bad as I was expecting it to be. I was on a lot of good drugs and I slept through about 3 days. My husband tells me I would wake and talk a bit and then fall back asleep mid sentence. I was finally more alert and remember things about a week after surgery. My biggest problem was the depression that hit. Its hard going from being extremely active to not being able to do to anything. Please go outside and sit for a bit. I wish I would have at least gone outside to get out of the house. Yep, you can take care of 'personal' needs. I even started my period 5 days after surgery, was that fun! I went back to mild cardio after 2 weeks and have been feeling great. I still have a few limitations, but definitely feel like myself again. Best of luck and yes it is worth it!
