are you supposed to be hungry during the first few weeks after surgery?

i was told when i get my band that it is okay to partially fill it. the literature that i have read said that when you put it on it stays unfilled or can be partially filled. i am supposed to partially get mine filled to 3 ccs. will this be too tight?

do folks with lower bmi really lose with the band?

thanks everyone for your posts! my goal is to lose 60pounds. i would be happy with 40-45. my doctor has told me to look for about 10 pounds a month and that the amount i lose will be determined by how well i follow the post op diet and exercise.

i must admit i am getting scared. i have made the decision to do it. i have a date. but, now i am getting scared. wondering if something will go wrong during the surgery and i don't wake up. or that i will be that person that has every complication imaginable! i know i need to chill. pray and let God do the rest. that is why i am on here looking for positive experience. thanks for sharing!

Wow nita! congrats on your success. and thanks for sharing your positive stories. i have read some not so great stories. and don't get me wrong, i don't want to hear ALL good, but i would like to hear both positive and not so positive stories. i like to hear about someone that has victory over obesity!

How can you tell if your band is too tight? :omg: will it stop your weight loss?

where are you in ny? i am in rochester! i have not had the band yet, but i am trying to educate myself to some of the things that can go wrong with the band so that i know how to deal with it. you know what i mean? i will be getting banded on june 30th. i am nervous, yet excited. i have a bmi of 35. i have been dieting for all my life. over the last little bit, it just seems like no matter what i do, i don't lose. and it is frustrating.

i am scheduled to have the lapband at the molding clinic at the end of june. they say they only use the inamed band. and they go ahead and fill it a little at the time of placement. has anyone else experienceed this? they also said doing this will have me on the liquid diet at first, then soups, and it would be about 3 months before i could really be on solids. any thoughts on this?
