    Richmond Virginia Sleevers Around?

I was told you could eat as many veggies (raw and steamed) as you wanted, so that may help. I'd talk to the nutrionist during your pre-op class and ask her. There's probably something you could do, maybe even adding another shake or bar.

2 shakes (from the approved list or that meet the same nutritional details) and a sensible meal of lean protein and veggies.

    Cigna Approval Process

I think with a BMI of 50+ you don't NEED the 2 co-morbidities. I would guess you'd be approved based on your bmi and health reasons as they are. I had a BMI of about 51 with hypertension and diabetes.

    Richmond Virginia Sleevers Around?

Ugh! My hair is falling out like crazy and it's driving me batty. It's so thin now. I'm not getting my Protein in. I hate most protein supplements and am having a tough time with that in general. My weight loss is all but stalled I'm in a rough spot right now.
  8. I don't know what's going on. After my release from the hospital things have been ok. I did have occasional vomiting, but I know it was due to eating too quickly. However, this weekend things changed. I have been nauseaous since Sunday around noon and all day Sunday I couldn't keep anything (even water) down. Yesterday I managed Water, the juice of an orange and some crackers. But, still felt nauseaous the entire time. Today I've had two bites of oatmeal and sips of water. In addition to the nausea I feel almost like there's a ball in my chest. It's very hard to explain this sensation, not fullness, not hunger, just an awkward tightness I can't get rid of. I take prilosec every morning, I don't think this is related to reflux. I'm scared it's some sort of complication. I have a follow-up appointment with the nurse practitioner at my surgeon's office next Thursday, but that seems so far away at this point.
  9. no stricture. so I'm either eating too quickly or it's all in my head.
  10. Thanks for all the concern. My doctor is fine with oranges and juices. I drink diet juices and she has even recommended them. I don't really have any problems with acid or reflux, luckily, unless I forget to take my Prilosec. My gallbladder was removed at the same time as my sleeve surgery. Saw the doc today and she has ordered and endoscopy to check for a stricture. Hopefully will have that in the next 7-10 days.
  11. My nurse practitioner last week said she thought I'd probably had a stomach virus and the vomiting from that made my stomach and esophagus swell causing more vomitting and nausea. I'm definitely feeling a lot better but still get the nausea and vomitting occasionally. I'm going to see her tomorrow so will report back then.

    Richmond Virginia Sleevers Around?

way to go 8/6! I had surgery on 10/31/12 with Dr Bautista at St Mary's. My recovery was very rough and there are still days/times I regret the surgery. I throw up a few times a week I think from eating too quickly. I also think I may have a stricture forming, but am not sure. So far I have lost about 55 pounds since surgery. I'm down 77-78 pounds from my high weight. I usually don't see it myself but my friends and family notice, so that's nice. I notice occasionally, but usually still see the same fat person in the mirror. I still have a long way to go!
  14. Thank you all. Just left a message with the nurse I thought it was a stomach virus initially, but now I'm not sure. I've had that before and this just feels different.
  15. I had surgery 10/31 and lost 23 pounds in the first two weeks. I was ecstatic! Now, in the two weeks since then I've only lost 4 pounds and I'm, obviously, not happy. I know I'm not meeting my goal of 50-60 grams Protein and all of my liquids. I'm trying each day though. I'm still on mushies and lots of food gets stuck. What's going on? Please tell me the weight loss will pick up some! Not askin for ten pounds a week, but this isn't working!
  16. I'm stalled out still. I lost another couple pounds then it just stopped. I'm just frustrated. I know I shouldn't be this early out and I guess my expectations are just too high. I keep hoping that it's my body gearing up for that time of the month, I always kind of retain Fluid and all that jazz. But, nothing comes! lol. Back at work now and it's sedentary and all I want to do is snack even though I'm not hungry! So, hopefully that's another indication of my period coming, that emotional eating.

    Nausea (Severe)

Hope it helps you both. Forgot to take my Zyrtec last night and I could really tell it this morning!!

    Nausea (Severe)

I'm one month post op and had to have a long hospital stay because of nausea. Is yours worse in the morning? My doc said to take Zyrtec or the like before bed to help with mucus draining into my small empty tummy. So far that's helped me some! Also was told to start the day with a warm liquid before anything else to open everything up.

    Oct Sleevers

My surgery was 10/31 and awful. Surgery was ok but recovery was not. I had extreme nausea and could not keep anything down. I was at the hospital for 4 nights. Been home now since Sunday. Can't get all of my protein and fluiDs in and am battling head hunger but not real hunger. Feeling regretful and depressed now.

    Any Halloween Sleevers?

I'm getting sleeved tomorrow too! Halloween is my favorite holiday, so I'm a little bummed I'll be spending it in the hospital. I am on a rollercoaster of emotions as well, all over the place!
  21. yikes. I was a little late to the game, obviously!
  22. wtf? Shut up. Everyone heals and feels differently. No one should be made to feel guilty for taking longer than others.
